  1. That's great to know, I'll have to open it up and see for myself, thank you!
  2. If I'm not mistaken, its an M.2 NVMe WDC 512 GB SSD, like the image above. I also think that my laptop has a 2.5 inch bay for another drive, but I'm not sure since I don't want to risk opening it and messing something up you know.
  3. I got Belarc and this is what I found for the drive. Does this mean if I get this ssd, it would fit my laptop? Thanks - https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-970-EVO-1TB-MZ-V7E1T0BW/dp/B07BN217QG/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=1tb+nvme+ssd&qid=1588189984&sr=8-3
  4. Hey there everyone, so I have a Dell G3 15 3590 with a 512 storage drive. If I'm not mistaken, it's an NVMe SSD drive. I want to get more storage for it, but I'm unsure if it's actually an NVMe SSD or something else. I'm also unsure if I have other bays or something to simply install a new storage. Is there a way to find out how many storage drive bays my laptop has and what kind of SSD I would need? Thank you and if you need more information feel free to let me know.
  5. Hey everyone. I sadly didn't find a phone under that price range, but I did find something a bit more expensive. The OnePlus 5T (renewed) on Amazon. It has 1920x1080 AMOLED screen, 8GB of ram, Snapdragon 845 (I think), it play COD Mobile, Fortnite, and other games really well (no lag). Only downside is that it was renewed & came with a couple of scratches, but overall it's a great phone. I managed to get it for $270 USD unlocked on Amazon. I've seen others for around $300.
  6. I saw a lot of Xiaomi phones on Amazon that have what I'm looking for, but would they work with MetroPCS and be a good phone?
  7. I only want a warranty in case the phone is DOA or something happens to it internally that isn't caused by me. I was thinking of the One Plus 6T but it's kind of expensive tbh.
  8. Hey there everyone, so I'm looking to upgrade from my Alcatel Fierce 4 that I've had for about 4 years. Anyways, I'm looking for a new phone that is preferably unlocked so that I can use it with whatever carrier. I currently have MetroPCS and having a phone that would work with them would be great. I'm looking to spend between $200-$275 for this phone. I live in the United States, California to be more exact. I just want a phone that is modern and is able to handle the latest titles on mobile such as Fortnite, PUBG, Call of Duty, etc. I'm a pretty big gamer, yes even on mobile, and I would like to be able to play some more demanding titles on that phone. I do have a question, I don't know much about mobile phone processors, any idea on how I know which ones are better? I've posted some things that I would want the phone to have and some things that would be nice to have. If it's not possible to have the must haves, I'd be willing to bump the price up to maybe $275 USD or maybe take something out. If you need more information be sure to let me know, thank you so much. Must Haves - Unlocked Carrier (Must work with MetroPCS) - 4G LTE Capable - 1080P screen - Headphone jack - At least 32GB of Storage - SD Slot - 4GB of RAM or Better - Good Processor - Be able to run Fortnite - Warranty Preferable but not needed - New (Not Factory Refurbished) - No Notch (I could live with a small one) - Decent Camera where the pictures are clear - USB Type C - OTG if possible - Dual Speakers - 16x9 Aspect Ratio - Latest Android Version
  9. UPDATE: I ended up returning two models of those laptops because they both had that issues. I got myself a Dell G3 15 with similar specs but no 1TB HDD but no static on headphone jack.
  10. Hey there everyone. So I just bought this computer from Costco just two days ago. I plugged in my 3.5mm TRRS earbuds these (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00E4LGVUO/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and I get a faint static on the left earbud. They have a little mic that when I use it to play Fortnite (yeah I know, cringe) I hear that it's all fuzzy when I talk. I know for a fact that the audio quality on the earbuds are way better than that because I then tried it on a ps4 and my desktop. Next I tried a pair of noise cancelling headphones with the included cable TRS and I don't hear it. I then tried another two pairs of earbuds that were TRRS, one a AKG pair and one a $5 pair. They both expirienced the same problem. Any idea why it doesn't work with TRS headphones and not TRRS earbuds. The audio works fine when using the TRRS pairs, there's just a small static noise on all of them. I don't want to buy a 3.5mm to USB adapter because I just bought this thing for $1200 and I don't want to spend more. I'm thinking I'll just return it and see if it's the laptop or my earbuds, I'm pretty sure it's the laptop because I tried four pair of headphones/earbuds. PS: I know all of the headphones/earbuds work because I tried them on my phone and on my desktop and I don't have that problem. Thank you all for your help.
  11. Well, after looking at the builds and the prices, dishing out an extra $100 sounds like it would be worth it especially if I'm getting more performance. Even going for the cheaper option of about $250 would still be a pretty big upgrade right? I'll just have to save up my money and go for the more expensive option, the $350 one, mostly because I don't want to have to upgrade in the near future. I'll look around online to see where I can find the cheapest options for those items. Thank you so much to everyone. I've actually learned quite a lot. I'll keep you guys posted on what I buy and where I buy it. I might even end up getting 32GB of Ram if I find it somewhat cheap. Thank you so much everyone.
  12. I completely forgot to mention that I'm going to be using my machine for more than just gaming. I will be using it to run Blender, Unity, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Camtasia for video editing (this is kind of light video editing really). Also, I'm sorry if I didn't follow the guidelines correctly, I'm sort of new to the LTT website. I think I'll wait for the 7/7 date to hopefully get something cheaper. I had no idea that my cpu was 10 years old! I'm probably going to upgrade that lol, maybe that could be what's causing my system to crash? Thank you so much.
  13. If I were to go with this option, would I be able to use 32GB DDR4 RAM? I'm guessing that I should be able to correct, if the board supports it. It says it can go up to 64GB. I really like this option (the 256) but if dishing out 100 bucks more offers more performance, then I might just go for that. Which would you suggest?
  14. I honestly had no idea that location mattered. Well, I live in the US, California to be more exact. I think that you're option would be the best out of all of them so far, but I'm not sure how much of an actual upgrade would be. I'm guessing it would be a pretty nice upgrade since it's 32GB of DDR4 RAM and a newer CPU, but I'm not sure lol. Will upgrading the CPU be that much of an upgrade?
  15. Yeah, it's strange. There are times when I get them but it's pretty spontaneous really. Roughly, how much would upgrading the all of that even cost? I'm trying to keep within a budget. Also, if it wasn't clear, my PC just crashes when I'm doing nothing sometimes, not necessarily during games. Any idea for a config to upgrade what you said, like any specific motherboard and such. I don't really know too much about compatibility so I'm afraid of buying something and having it not be compatible.
  16. Hey there everyone. So, I have a Windows 10 Desktop PC, and I'm wondering what I should upgrade. I'll leave my CPU-Z system information (I think that's what it's called). I'll leave pictures of what CPU-Z says because I honestly don't know if I'm giving all the information, I'm kind of new to this PC stuff. As of right now, my PC runs well, but that means I have to turn down my settings to about medium with some settings low at 1920x1080 on Fortnite (yeah I know, it's Fortnite) to get roughly 45 frames a second with some serious drops sometimes. CPU - AMD Phenom II X6 1095T Motherboard - ASRock 970A-G/3.1 Memory - 8GB (2X4GB) DDR3 Graphics Card - Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 I originally had 12GB of RAM, but the 2x2GB ram sticks were bad I'm guessing since when they're in my system, I constantly get random BSOD with different error messages. When I take them out, I rarely get them. I'm thinking of upgrading the RAM to 16GB, but I'm not sure how much of an upgrade that would be. I'm thinking of getting this RAM and using it with my current ram to have 24GB, but I've read that I shouldn't mix ram. If I were to get that 16GB RAM off of Amazon, could I just buy the same RAM and combine them to have 32GB or no? Thank you so much everyone for your help, it's really appreciated. If anything, I think I might just upgrade my RAM. Thank you again and I await your responses. Update: I forgot to mention my budget, sorry about that. I would like to keep it in the $250-$325 price range or lower if possible. I had a feeling that my GPU wouldn't be needing any upgrading anytime soon so I'm goo on that. As for storage, I think I'm pretty good on that. I have a 1TB SSD for windows and loading programs like Illustrator and Unity. Then I have 2 HDD, 1 (512GB) & 1 (128GB).
  17. I hadn't even looked at Crucial yet. It's in between Samsung and Silicon Power in terms of price. I think I might just go for that one since it has pretty good reviews and a lot of them too. It's in the medium price range. I really want to go for the silicon power mostly because it's the cheapest, but as I said, I don't want to get burned. Should I just go for the Crucial or Samsung?
  18. Hey there everyone. So I'm pretty much a noob when it comes to buying SSDs and that's why I turned here. So I found a couple of SSDs at what I believe is a fair price on Amazon. I want to get at least a 500GB SSD but I could go for a 1TB simply to have more storage. I'll post the links to the products below. - (1TB Silicon Power $89.99) https://www.amazon.com/Silicon-Power-Performance-Internal-SP001TBSS3A55S25/dp/B07B4G19X3/ref=sr_1_6?keywords=1tb%2Bssd&qid=1558584921&s=gateway&sr=8-6&th=1 - (1TB Samsung QVO 860 $108) https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Inch-Internal-MZ-76Q1T0B-AM/dp/B07L3D19MY/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=1tb+ssd&qid=1558585195&s=gateway&sr=8-4 - (1TB Samsung EVO 860 $150) https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Inch-Internal-MZ-76E1T0B-AM/dp/B078DPCY3T/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=1tb+ssd&qid=1558585195&s=gateway&sr=8-3 - (500GB Samsung EVO 860 $78) https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-500GB-Internal-MZ-76E500B-AM/dp/B0781Z7Y3S/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=512gb%2Bssd&qid=1558585269&s=gateway&sr=8-4&th=1 - (500GB Silicon Power $50) https://www.amazon.com/Silicon-Power-Performance-Internal-SP512GBSS3A55S25/dp/B07997QV4Z/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=512gb+ssd&qid=1558585269&s=gateway&sr=8-3 I was thinking of getting the 500GB Silicon Power one for $50, but I have never heard of that brand and I'm not sure if I can trust it. It has 4 and a half stars out of 600+ reviews, but I'm not too sure. My next option was to get the 500GB Samsung Evo for $78 mostly because I know Samsung is a good brand. Then my third option was the 1TB Silicon Power for $90. Then the $108 then $150. I'm not sure which to get, Samsung or Silicon Power. Honestly, I'm trying to stick to a budget so Silicon sounds like the way to go, but I don't want to buy something with low quality and have to get a new one. I would go for Samsung but it's a bit more expensive. This goes for both the 500gb and 1tb models. I was thinking maybe dish out some bigger bucks and go for the 1tb samsung QVO for 108 but if there is no real difference between that and the 1tb silicon power, I'll go for the Silicon Power. Basically, is Silicon Power a good buy, or should I go for Samsung? I plan on using the SSD for gaming, the OS (Windows 10), game development, 3D modeling, graphic design (Illustrator, Photoshop). So what do you guys think? Your feedback is very greatly appreciated and I will take it into account. Thank you so much! Here's the SSDs that I found that I have to choose from. https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/H1J60UU9TY5D?ref_=wl_share UPDATE: I ended up going with the 1TB Crucial MX500 SSD for $120. Here's the link to the Amazon page. Between Samsung and Silicon Power, this one was right in the middle in terms of price and the reviews were pretty good. I've had no problem with it so far, I'll update this in the future if I do. Thanks so much. Further update 4/28/20 So far the SSD is working great and I haven't had any problems with it. I really do suggest this one if you want something good but don''t want to spend too much money.
