  1. I'm running single channel, i only have one stick of ram 16Gb 2666Mhz, why do you think that going to dual channel would help with the throttle problem? I know that having dual channel will increase the data transfer to the CPU from Ram, tell me about your experience.
  2. I don't know why windows update gets newer bios versions, it is like beta versions that asus will eventually add to therir official page. When i wrote ASUS they sent me directions to stop windows updating, they wanted me to use only the software listed on their page. I guess a good practice is to complain to ASUS so they can make an effort in releasing a better BIOS other than that they will just move on to the new laptop models. When i say complain is to describe the problems you are facing and giving them a chance to resolve it, in the end all those complains will become part of their statistics and will surely get more and more attention.
  3. Share your setup or at least your laptop model and someone with something similar to you may help you. About the MHz, try pressing BCLK button on Throttlestop it refreshes or recalculates the speed after you have changed your undervolt values.
  4. When i got my Laptop the bios version on ASUS website was 301, windows update made it go up to 302 and then 303 even though the version on ASUS website still was 301. Bios version is also different for the different versions or models of laptops, My case FX504GM-ES74.
  5. Here i share my Throttlestop settings, you can see all the undervolting settings on the FIVR on it's top right corner, i could reach values of -320mV and little less but i found that with -250mV i got better times on TS Bench. About TS Bench i don't know how it managed to emulate 16 threads but there is a value. When doing a 256M size test on 12 Threads my CPU throttles to 25W for some seconds then releases to something like 50W then goes throttles to 45W that is a behavior i also found when rendering 3D images, it throttles to 2.2MHz for some seconds or early stages of the rendering process then it releases and goes up to 60+W. My computer uses stock paste I'm also sharing some pdfs the tech guys sent me, they are in spanish but it has images and are very simple to use, i think the most important thing to do is to stop windows from updating drivers. Inicio Selectivo Windows 10.pdf Evitar actualización de Drivers de Windows Update.pdf
  6. My ASUS is the FX504GM-ES74, i see there are lots of variants across different countries. From my experience i can give you some advices: This laptop won't perform at its best out of the box so if you don't feel like going through a bunch of forums and reading all you can to make it work as good as possible maybe this is not the computer for you. This is like a racing car, it has a 0 to 60mph in 5 seconds but that's just a number, that will only happens in certain conditions, so don't believe numbers like this processor should do 3.9MHz all the time. Also to keep with the racing analogy, racing cars need constant tuneup, if you are the mechanic, this would be great. If you want this laptop for photo editing or other tasks i would recommend you to get in contact with some colleagues that can show you how their computers are performing, i'm posting a capture of my screen while exporting one hundred pictures with Adobe Lightroom, it only took two minutes and you can see the processor hitting 50+W at that moment, the maximum wattage was 61W, sometimes it throttled to 45W. So this is something where a benchmark can't really help me, this is real world data.
  7. Here is a Cinebench Score, hit an all time high right now 1200+. Mi computer is the FX504GM-ES74, the Screen is a TN panel with very nice viewing angles not as good as those laptops with IPN but i chose this one because of its 94%NTSC for photo editing. About the touchpad mine is working good, sometimes the cursor does not move but i change the way my fingers touch it and works again, it only makes sounds when i click it as intended.
  8. I've talked via e-mail to the representatives of ASUS Latin America, i asked them to please help me walk through the throttle problems and try to avoid sending my machine to service since there is no ASUS service center in my country (Venezuela). They told me to reset my computer and stop windows automatically updating drivers, they wanted me to have the drivers they recommend on the ASUS official page. They sent me some pdfs on the procedures. I've noticed that after applying all the tweaks there is still this "EDP Other" sign on Throttlestop. When you set your power plan to a performance one, you should leave the Intel(R) Graphics Power Plan to Balanced and not Maximum performance , all the other settings can be on Maximum performance. After all if you have the FX504 the GTX graphic card should kick in when you are doing intensive work. My CPU can reach 50-60+W and then settle in 45W when the task is long, sometimes it throttles momentarily for like 6 seconds to 25W @ 2.2GHz at the start of cinebench then releases to 50-60+W @ 3.9GHz and then drops to 45W @ 3.7GHz Scoring 1100+
