  1. Posting this for a friend's pc we are trying to troubleshoot in vain for the past day. So I had my computer turned on yesterday working fine, I turned it off, put it in my car and went to a friend for a LAN party. The computer never turned back on and it does what you can see in the video. Things I have tried that haven't shown any success so far: -Checking all cable connections on PSU and in general -Reseting CMOS -Using other RAM sticks -Removing all drives and tried booting -Checked for any bent socket pins(They are fine) -Removing all components from the case and putting them back in to see if anything was short circuiting my rig. -Tried using my PSU on my dads PC, it worked fine so its not the PSU. -Tried running the computer without the custom cable extensions My specs are: -i9 9900KF -5700xt -Corsair RM750 PSU -GSkill TridentZ 3000Mhz 16GB -MSI MPG Z390 GAMING EDGE
  2. I'll look into corrupted user profile , thanks. Reinstalling windows seems to be my only solid solution for now, but I will delay it for now and still try to troubleshoot my way out of this because it is indeed a huge pain in the rear.
  3. After checking with malwarebytes in safe mode that's what I did, I just restarted and still happened
  4. Yep. I removed gpu, ram, all cables and reseated everything. I'll do it again to be sure, no harm in that. Safe mode worked perfectly
  5. I've done this. Disconnected every drive. The pc freezes with all drives removed (except the boot ssd obviously).
  6. Hey guys. So this just happened . I don't know if the hdd part is connected with the freezing but they happened at the same time. Pc was working fine until now. I noticed a ticking sound from my tower. Pointed it to one of my two hdds. I opened file explorer to see if I can access what's inside my hdd , when I opened the drive windows explorer froze . Restarted windows explorer through task manager, but it didn't work so I restarted the pc. as soon as windows booted up it froze within 5 sec. Since then, even with all the hdds and ssds apart from the boot ssd disconnected, windows instantly freeze after 5 seconds. Same on restart and cold boot. Safe mode works fine, used malwarebytes in safe mode but didn't report anything. Any clues on what the heck happened ?
  7. I have used a hdd as storage in a similar situation with no problems. Reformat it, run some hdd benchmarks with crystaldisk or other software to check hdd health status and use it as you like.
  8. Hi, I have the following issue. I tried pushing my cpu and ram oc a little further than usual. Everything is done manually, no docp/xmp. 2700x is 4.3 @1.41 . ram is 3400 14-15-14-14-30. I have also tuned one by one secondary and tertiary timings. ram is @1.38 and soc voltage boosted up to 1.15v. Everything is now stable while stress testing. Have done memtest86 and prime95 (small, large and blend). Temps are fine, everything is okay while gaming/ everyday usage. When doing a cold boot, it will always restarts once before booting. It is always only one restart lasting a couple of seconds and then it boots normally and works normally as well. System : 2700x, CHVII, f4-3466c16d-32gtzr.
  9. Black light is UV light. Never tried it but combining UV light and RGB/leds will most likely wash out the UV light. It might be better to look for UV reactive materials / case fans .
  10. Havent gamed on any of the two. Closest is a 1080p UW @75Hz that a friend of mince has. The jump from 60 to 75 was quite noticeable in my eyes. The UW is indeed cool AF but most probably 144Hz would be cool AF as well if i tried it out. The problem is i dont have any local stores with such monitors on display to go and see for my self, otherwise i would be there from day 1.
  11. 2700x CH VII 32GB gtzr 3466 currently 1060 which will be upgrade after the monitor to a 1080ti or 2080ti, in the next 2 months edit : im aware im just going to underpower the monitor for one month +- with my 1060. Idc about that.
  12. Hi guys. I am struggling the past weeks trying to find a new monitor. It will upgrade my LG 23MA53 1080p 60Hz monitor/tv that i am using for the past years. Im leaning towards 1440p 144/165hz , and more specifically to XB271HU . The problem is im still not sure if it would be better to go for an ultrawide 1440p @100Hz rather than normal 1440 144. Im not focusing on competitive online gaming, but i spend a fair time playing cs go and other fast paced shoot games, as well as single player games like the withcher 3. I cant decide if the extra immersion of the UW is worth the 44Hz toll ( since there are no UW 1440p @144/165 which is what i originally had in mind ~sad~ ) . I know that coming from a 1080p 60hz monitor/tv both purchases ( UW or not ) will amaze me. I would like to hear some opinions. I value the extra screen space and immersion of UW but also want the 144.
  13. Thanks for your reply Im reading the VID from HWmonitor. Any way to monitor vcore ? There are solid chances for improvement on single thread performance with smt of ? edit : is the core voltage reading of cpu z accurate ?
  14. Hi guys. I am running a 2700x with crosshair VII cooled by a kraken x62. I want to address two issues / questions. First overclocking and safe voltages. Running my 2700x @4.3 is taking a constant 1.50V. I havent messed with voltage and i have just set it to auto. By comapring the 1.50 to others on the internet it seems it is kind of higher than it should. How bad is running @4.3 and 1.5V constantly ? When i dont manually oc the cpu and the pbo and xfr is doing its job, it might have 1.48-1.50V spikes but they are momentary opposed to the 4.3 with constant 1.5V. Should i avoid the constant 1.5 ? Second part of the question is : Would disabling cores provide a higher oc and better single core performance for my 144hz gaming sessions where my 2700x seems to start struggling ? im noticing dips on gpu usage (from 95 to 75 and slowly back to 90-95, and dip back again) around 130-160 FPS ?
