  1. I might have to try overclocking again then, I was partially successful with overclocking the first time, some of the settings seemed locked off/greyed out. I somehow managed to boost it to about 3.5 or 3.7Ghz and did see an improvement but still experiencing bottle-necking

I have a budget of about €250-350(MAX) for the CPU and the Mobo is pretty old now, but i'm wondering if I can just upgrade my CPU anyway, and if anyone had suggestions. I will need to get a new CPU cooler of course, but my main concern here is: What can I upgrade to with my current Mobo, or would it just be better to upgrade Mobo at the same time? Any tips greatly appreciated
  3. What Watt PSU should I be looking for if i'm upgrading to 3080Ti and overclocking the CPU?
  4. Wow! Thanks a lot for the responses guys, I've a lot to think about here, I do eventually plan to upgrade most everything, just can't afford it right now Sounds like i'll try overclocking CPU and buy a solid GPU, with the end goal of upgrading the rest Cheers!
  5. It's time I upgraded my GPU, and I'm wondering if someone knows if I can just upgrade the GPU and keep all my existing components, or will I need to upgrade something else for my PC to be compatible with the new GPU? Here are my current specs: Budget (including currency): €1400 (for GPU) Country: Ireland Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: GAMES: For Honor, Kingdom Come Deliverance, SCUM WORK: Video editing, 2D animation (TB Harmony), 3D (Blender). Thanks
  6. That's not so bad for free PCs, I'm sort of eager to see if there's anything I can do with these parts, combine them to sort of frankenstein some parts together to make one of the systems better? Any idea what model of Nvidia graphics card it is? cheers!
  7. Hey there! I was rummaging around my attic and found some old PCs my family had stored there. I'm not too knowledgeable but I was wondering if someone with more expertise would be able to help me appraise them and see if there is anything worth Salvaging. There are three systems and they're pretty old so I don't expect to be able to salvage much out of them. After a quick glance, what I could see might be potentially worth saving are some HDDs, and maaaybe an i3? Could someone help me figure out what's worth saving and some potential uses for the salvaged pieces? System 1: Dell OptiPlex 790 Windows 7 Pro OA Intel core i3 500GB HDD Western Digital (pictured) System 2: Dell XPS 420 Windows Vista Intel core 2 Duo x2 Western Digital 320GB HDD There was a 3rd pc but I just grabbed the HDD out of that, it was the oldest of the three and didn't look promising but i'll attach a picture. Also found an old Nvidia GPU (can't tell what model, picture attached) TLDR: Found some old PCs, wondering if any of the parts are worth saving/selling? Need help appraising. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated, I'm excited to learn something from you guys about this. Regarding possible reuses, any suggestions are welcome! If we do figure out what I can save, I can then separate/repurpose those, but i'm wondering how best to dispose of the left over scrap? Cheers! - Maze
  8. Hey folks, I hope someone can help me with this. I want to listen to music while playing games on PC. Sometimes I have a really good game or something funny/glitchy happens and I use Nvidia Geforce Experience to record the footage. I know Nvidia can separate the mic audio from the capture audio, but I am wondering if it's possible to capture just the game audio, and not the entire audio from the output source. I'm reluctant to use OBS for this, i'm looking for an answer with Nvidia Geforce. Do I need to download some audio drivers/external software for this type of thing, or is there some external mixing solution that would work. I've only a basic knowledge of audio, let me know if anything needs clarification. Thanks in advance
