I am currently looking for an ultrawide monitor for my upcoming AMD setup. I'm looking for monitor with: - Above 60Hz refresh rate - Freesync - Below 30 inch - 2560x1080 resolution - Non curved And so far I only came across the 29' UM series from LG (specifically LG 29UM68-P / 67-P). Is there any other brand that I should look for which has all the criteria I mentioned?

Question regarding my internet speed, router and adapter
ricko99 replied to ricko99's topic in Networking
Before getting my 30Mbps connection, I had a 5Mbps connection with the same setup and most of the time I always get between 4.5 - 5Mbps download speed at speedtest using wireless connection. I'll try to use wired and let you guys know. Thanks! -
Hi, I just got a new 30Mbps connection from my ISP. I currently use TP-LINK WN821N 300Mbps wireless adapter with TP-LINK TL-WR841HP 300Mbps Wireless N Router . If I understand correctly, using these two devices should give me my full 30Mbps download speed from my ISP right? Because I've been testing out my download speed using Speedtest and the maximum download speed I got hovered around 22Mbps only. Anyone mind to share their knowledge with me regarding of what's wrong with my setup?

I thought I would like to share these articles for you guys who are aiming for new AMD line-up. http://www.guru3d.com/news-story/amd-radeon-r300-grenada-is-380xfiji-is-390x-and-bermuda-is-395x2.html http://www.techpowerup.com/209719/radeon-r9-380x-based-on-grenada-a-refined-hawaii.html http://www.eteknix.com/amds-next-generation-brings-one-new-chip/ If the speculations are true, then I'll be quite disappointed with the 380 series since It's just a rebranded R9 290 series with higher clock and the fact that the 390 series will be much more expensive I assume

Anyone with this card, is there any new BIOS? Mine is 84.04.2F.00.A8. and wondering if there's a new BIOS for it. I couldn't find any BIOS for this card on GALAX website

So as I was reapplying thermal compound on my r9 280x, one of those tiny thing (transistor I guess?) actually chipped off its place. However, as I'm typing this, my GPU is running just fine. Will that tiny thing which came off affect anything to my GPU in a long run?

I just got myself a new DELL S2240L IPS 7ms monitor. On the manual, it's written that the response time of the monitor is: - 14ms (typical) - 7ms (typical) with Overdrive Is overdrive something that is already enabled by DELL when this monitor was in manufacturing or do I have to enable overdrive by myself? Because AFAIK there is no Overdrive option on the monitor menu

Possible air bubbles in AIO liquid cooling?
ricko99 replied to ricko99's topic in Custom Loop and Exotic Cooling
Checked on the mounting it seems the stock TIM provided didn't really make contact with the cpu Heat spreader. Used my AS5 and during idle now I get around 32 degree and max of 52 during load. Thanks! -
Possible air bubbles in AIO liquid cooling?
ricko99 replied to ricko99's topic in Custom Loop and Exotic Cooling
I have Antec Kuhler 920 in push-pull configuration. There's no noise whatsoever coming from the rad but my cpu idle temp is the same as my previous cheap cooler master TX3 evo which is 45 degree (I live in warm area without air cond). However, under load the Antec 920 gives me 60 degree on cpu and 50 degree on liquid temperature as compared to TX3's 70 degree. I'm just suspecting there might be some air bubble blocking the coolant inside which causes the idle temp to remain the same but I'm not so sure since I'm new to water cooling -
Possible air bubbles in AIO liquid cooling?

Is it possible for AIO liquid cooling to get air bubble stuck in the radiator or tubing? if it is possible, what are the ways to remove those bubbles? -
Liquid temperature on Antec Kuhler 920
ricko99 replied to ricko99's topic in Custom Loop and Exotic Cooling
just a stock i5 2500k no overlock or anything else. 1.2v on voltage oh i see i see. glad to know that  -
I've just got myself antec kuhler 920. The place i'm living at is quite hot and my room is quite hot as well. I checked the liquid temperature goes up to around 55 degree celcius when I play games like far cry 3 and crysis 3. The cpu temperature itself is acceptable for me staying around 62 degree celcius. Is the temperature for the liquid is normal?

just got my new r9 280x TOP today from asus. what is the latest bios for this card?
-
I'm going to get R9 280x for my new build but there are a lot of option of which version to get. So far I've seen: Asus r9 280x direct cu II Gigabyte r9 280x windforce 3x Sapphire r9 280x tri-x and dual-x msi r9 280x twin frozr In terms of temperature, which card has the lowest temperature under load? I'm setting my sight on asus one but i'm not so sure Anyone who knows other brand are welcome to suggest as well

Thank you everyone for the replies. I will stick with my 3570k and probably trade my two 680s for something else since they only have 2GB vram. Two 780s or a 7990 or anyone have better ideas on which card should I get? I used that software back when I was playing C3 and it actually helped. Maybe in future I'll think about getting a Hyper threaded cpu but for now I'll stick with my current processor since not many games utilize HT yet. Thanks for the input
