  1. It actually find some errors and repaired them. Let's hope that's the case but I'm not too confident. Tried to run cinebench again with those manual settings, instant reboot. Yesterday it was fine and today it's not, I'm really starting to lose hope. I've no idea what to do.
  2. Hello guys! I've recently (August) bought a new pc: 5800x MSI MAG X570 Tomahawk WiFi Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO Black DDR4-RAM 3600 MHz 32gb (4x8) (BIOS Version 7C84v17) Corsair PSU RM850x 980 Pro nvme I run everything at default with only XMP profile active and everything was perfect. I decided to try to use PBO and do a bit of overclocking. I set +50mhz with EDC 130 PPT 130 TDC 90, -10 on the best 2 cores and -20 on the others. Everything else was default. I had some decent result and some temperature decrese, i was pretty happy with it since i didn't want an heavy OC. Run some benchmarks (CB r20, 23, 3d mark, prime95) and not a single problem. A couple of weeks ago my pc started to reboot pretty randomly (a couple of time when i was playing games, netflix, opening some programs, using content aware in Photoshop) but never under heavy load or stress tests. This is the infamous error: "A fatal hardware error has occurred. Reported by component: Processor Core Error Source: Machine Check Exception Error Type: Cache Hierarchy Error Processor APIC ID: 12 (sometimes 13) The details view of this entry contains further information." At this point i was pretty sure my PBO settings were wrong and i've tried different ones to ease the pressure on core 6 (the one with all the WHEA errors). I lowered the negative value on core 6 and set it to 0, also lowered some more the other values. Same problem, getting random reboot without a solid way to recreate it. I decided to try default bios settings with only XMP on. It didn't last even a couple of days and the error was back, this time when i was watching Netflix... Still no errors with stress tests like corecycler+ycruncher for 4-5 iterations. I also tried to disable Global C-states and set the Power Supply Idle Control to Typical. N O P E. Same stuff. Also did a TestMem5 with 1usmus cfg. No errors detected. Right now I'm thinking to RMA the cpu and get a new one but i wanted to try one last thing: setting the manual oc and changing the voltages manually. I'm not an expert on this and I'd like some help from you. Those are the settings I'm using now: - CPU multiplier 45.5 Vcore OVERRIDE 1.35 volts Vsoc OVERRIDE 1.1 volts Load like calibration MODE 6 Cpb and pbo DISABLE XMP ON profile 2 (3600 mhz/ IF 1800 mhz) VRAM manual 1.35 volts Global c states DISABLE Windows power options on control panel balanced, cpu 10%-100%, hdd sleep 0, PCI-E energy saver OFF. Win 10 Power & sleep panel, Balanced. I did a testmem5 run and 2 iterations of corecylcer, no problems so far. Lost almost 6-7 degrees max on the cpu, but that wasn't a problem before. Max temps were around 75 degrees during cinebench and corecycler. I've attached a screen shot of my ZenTimings Any help will be REALLY appreciated. Thanks! ♥
  3. Hey guys i've pretty simple question, i've recently bought an UPS and i'm wondering if i can attach a power strip to it. It's just a lenght problem since on the power strip i want to attach only 2 things (pc and monitor). Is it fine or it could create a problem? This is the ups i bought: https://powerwalker.com/?page=product&item=10121131&lang=it This is my pc specs: 5800x 3070 oc 32gb ram 1 nvme, 1 ssd, 2hdd Corsair RM850x 2 1080p@144hz monitors
  4. Not really, but as i said the problem is not in my speakers or headphones, the problem is in the soundboard becasue no matter what peripheral i use the static noise is there untill i play another sound on the pc. Could it be a problem with the current? Can it create other type of problems?
  5. Hi guys! I've recenly changed my pc: 5800x MAG Msi x570 tomahawk (integrated sound board) 32gb ram corsair veng pro 1070 gtx (my old pal) corsair rm850x I've a strange problem and i can't figure out what could casue something like this, i hope you can help me out! Basically when i start my pc i've some static noise on the left audio channel, the funny thing is that as soon as i play another sound the static noise disappears and don't come back. This problem happens only when the pc is turned off for a long period of time (like when i turn it off to sleep, 8h average), if i turn it off and turn it on again without waiting there's no problem at all. The problem is not in my iem or headphones, it does the same with every equipment i attach to the motherboard. Last version of windows update. Last version (and only one apparently) of audio driver https://it.msi.com/Motherboard/support/MAG-X570-TOMAHAWK-WIFI. Do you know if there are other drivers i can download that are compatible with my mobo? Any other idea? Suggestions? I'm going crazy with this shit, it' also really hard to test since i have to turn off the pc for a long time for the problem to show again... DAMN IT! :D
  6. I sent the mobo back and they will send another one, let's hope that was the problem.
  7. Hello guys i just finished building my new pc 5800x asus strix x570-f 32gm ram corsair vengeance rgb pro rm850x psu my old 1070 Long story short, i booted with 4 ram slots in and it gave me black screen with the yellow DRAM light always on. I tought it was a bios issue, i flashed the 4002 BIOS, tried again, same problem. After that i removed all the slots, tried with one single ram slot each time and with the 3rd and 4th slots the system boots, when i put anything in the first 2 slots (from the left) the pc won't boot at all, only the yellow DRAM indicator always on. I also tried to unmount the processor, clean it up, mount the aio again. Same shit. I honestly no idea what to do. Is it a defective mobo? or what else could it be?
  8. I tried to do the same procedure again and the same identical thing happened. I had to swap the pcie slot to being able to boot. I tried to let it turn off for more than 2 min and nothing changed. I honestly have no idea, never heard something similar before
  9. Hi guys, today something really strange happened to me.I had to trun the power cord of my pc off for some work in the house, when i turned on, it didn't boot. Everything was turned on (fans, led, etc etc) but it didn't start. Long story short after some troubleshooting, i had to swap the pcie slot (1) for the graphic card and it booted. After the boot i turned it off again, swapped the new pcie (2) slot with the older one (1) and everything is fine. I've really no clue what is going on! Can anyone help me understand this? My cfg: 4790k @ 4.4k 16gb ram dual channelgtx 1070 (with dual DP monitors attached to it) asus maximus VII hero SSD for windows + 2 hhd and another ssd drive I've no other problems or temperature/driver issues, and now the pc is working perfectly. Thanks so much!
  10. Hi guys! I've to change my pc monitor (benQ xl2420t) and i really have no clue what's the best choice for me right now. I've a 4790k and a 1070 so i was thinking about 1080/1440p max, 144/165hz, TN monitor probably since IPS are not that great for gaming (?). The problem is my budget, around 350 euro. Should i wait and try to get a Gsync monitor when i've more cash? Is gsync a really a big improvement in smoothness overall? What are the best option for me?
  11. You didn't lose much, probably the worst BF i've ever played
  12. Dude really, try to read my replies again. Do you realize that we are saying the same thing? Yes? That's what i was talking about, 1.3v more or less, 70* in stress test with a good cooler. Those are the normal temps at that voltage unless you have a delidded cpu or you are the most lucky person on earth You should try BF5 and tell me what are your temps in game. I'm curious now!
  13. Your trolling skill is very low, i suggest you to try a little bit harder. If you are not trolling, try to read the replys again and again Well, you must be a really lucky guy! https://www.guru3d.com/articles-pages/noctua-nh-d15s-cpu-cooler-review,8.html
  14. At 1.3v you get 70c++ on every decent stress test even with a good cooling system. This is from the review on Anandtech: "Using a Corsair H80i (the 120mm double thickness CLC), our CPU hit 4.6 GHz at 1.300 volts, with 86ºC peak temperature under OCCT load, and 4.7 GHz at 1.450 volts with 98ºC peak temperature under OCCT load." They got a really shitty 4790k but you get the idea.
  15. Why should i keep my cpu at 70+ degrees when i can have 10 degrees less with the performance or higher performance for the same temps? Btw, that's not the point of this thread, we all know how OC works ;D
