  1. i would consider this more prosumer for that time than server hardware, its single socket and supports overclocking but keeps all the perks of the xeons with ecc ram support because the memory controller isnt on the board but inside the cpu, but here are the pictures you asked for, this doesnt look like monitor test, it looks like a bug, but i know next to nothing about this older hardware on the software side. it bounces between these two pictures until it verifies everything during post
  2. sure thing, do you know how i can screenshot that? lol ill restart and take the pic and have it up in about 5mins
  3. i was 16 and had no budget, now im almost 19 and still have no budget
  4. im still dialing in the cpu OC but cinebench isnt reading the 3.5ghz oc its only displaying 3.3ghz for some reason, ill see what i get on the r20 later and post that as well
  5. I have an "old" setup, its a xeon x5650 on a gigabyte x58a ud3r, i have no clue what revision it is. I bought this motherboard on ebay and when i got it everything went together without a hitch, and it took its time posting like most pcs do when on a first boot. But what was wierd and still happens every time i boot up the pc, is that the bios splash screen (im talking about the GIGABYTE logo screen and the labels for nav on boot.) it is just a bunch of multicolored rectangles all over the place but if i press tab then it takes me to the post "log" where i can see everything initializing. It isnt a necessity to fix it but i would like to know why its doing that and if i can fix it with a bios update or to just reinstall the same bios on it to fix the assumed bug
  6. i tried my hand at custom waterloops on my old pc, it was my first time building a pc so i figured what could go wrong. I had ordered all of the cooling parts from wish and got to work, i had to lap the waterblock because it was bowl shaped, i tried to use a radiator from a brand new cooler master aio, because why not waste $50, and in the process of removing the old plastic tubing i knicked both inlet and outlet on the rad, you can probably see where this is going. I had my reservior inside where i would have drives go, but i didnt have very many drives at the time so it was fine. and the amd am3 motherboard i was using used the old amd style of mounting with the 2 tabs and the rotating lock junk, so it cut a small square of plexi glass, and since i didnt have a drill bit i had to heat the fittings on the block and then push them through the plexi one at a time. then i took apart the stock fan and pulled the retention arm off of it slid it between the fittings and locked it down, that loop worked for about 3 months before i moved all of that into another case and withing a week it leaked all over my motherboard and fried my vrms, i stuck with a tower cooler again until i built the pc i have now
  7. i use aida 64 to test my cpu, i was using around 1.3 volts on the core 1.8 on pll amd 1.6 volts on dram
  8. under full load the cpu gets to between 50 and 60C at idle 30c max and the gpus are around 60 to 70C idle 30 to 40C i have the fans turned up all the way
  9. I have a gigabyte GA x58 Ud3r, 12 gb of gskill ddr4, a 120mm AIO, an x5650, and a 650w corsair psu. I have been trying to overclock my cpu for the last month and i have gotten it to 3.66 ghz instead of the 2.66 stock speed. It works perfectly fine for around 30 mins after stress testing and it will play 1 and a half games of R6 siege and then it freezes and shuts down. when i reopen the bios it says that there was a problem with my overclock, could mt north bridge be overheating in that time sapn? its got good vrms and vrm cooling but i never pulled the board cooler off to look at anything because i needed the pc as soon as possible. im also having trouble overclocking my crossfire RX 460 strix 4gb gaming cards, i can add voltage and i can add a pinch of core and memory but after i launch a game they crash, could it be my thermal paste, or just the horrible extruded aluminum heat sinks that amd used for these? i will get water cooling for them eventually but right now its not in the budget at the moment. If anyone has any answers or questions, or you need more info then let me know, ill be checking this post all night tonight my time (7:33pm for me) and tomorrow afternoon and night. Thanks in advance for any answers and if you have questions i will answer them as soon as i can

    Help

yes i tried clearing the cmos, it didnt fix it, i dont know if it was just being a tard cause of a major hardware change but ill try it again when i find my spare gpu
  11. yes, the cpu is a xeon, its laptop ram i can use, desktop ram i can use, i need a new router anyways, and the ssds are good enough to throw a couple steam games on, one can never have too many ssd's, unless you only have 4 sata ports on your motherboard, then the 5th ssd is too much
  12. well its part of a package deal, 2 ssd's, some laptop ram, desktop ram, routers, and a cpu for $75
  13. No i dont sadly, the guy im buying the stuff from has flip phone quality cameras

    Help

I bought an asus P6T WS Pro motherboard off ebay, it worked perfectly fine until i pulled it out to swap an x5650 xeon into it. The cooler i was using was a pain to take off, so removing the board was the best option. After i put everything back together i pushed power and it lit up, but didnt post. i put my w3570 back in and still no post.i put the board up on a shelf until i could figure out whats wrong with it and i know my ram, psu, and gpu are fine because im using all three of them in the computer im typing this on. i was only able to use that pc for a week or 2 and its been 3 weeks since it broke. i had forgotten about the huge amounts of people on this forum and the vast knowledge there is shared here
  15. I am buying a lot of stuff on ebay and in this lot is a graphics card, all i know is that it has an asus sticker on it and its in a strix box, ill put a picture of it in here, if the card is worthless let me know but if it is ill use it as a decoration or put it in a computer to play 1 game. any help is awesome
