  1. I need advice... I keep getting the BSOD System Memory Exception when I have 2 sticks of 8gb 1600mhz ram installed. Could it be that one stick is defective? or is it because im using a HDD? When I first installed a fresh copy of windows, i got a bsod with 2 sticks of ram. So I took out one just to finish the installation. After that I tried two sticks and it worked for a while on the desktop, then got the BSOD again after I clicked for the task manager So took that same stick out again and re-seated it on the other ram slot, this time it didnt turn off but my games cant work. So is this just the HDD? or the ram Specs Xeon 2420 v2 (AliExpress - $24) EastVista X79 Motherboard (AliExpress - $62.39) PlexHD Memory DDR3 Ram 2x8 GB 1600mhz non ECC "for intel" (AliExpress - $48.42) MSI Armor RX 470 8GB (eBay - $80) Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo (eBay - $21) Seasonic S12III 500w 80+ Bronze Power Supply (Amazon - $39.99) Toshiba 1TB 2.5 HDD (Locally - $30) Phanteks P300 Case White (Locally - $30) Thermal Grizzly Kyronaut 11 Gram Tube (Locally - $20)
  2. I bought a tube of it, just waiting for it to come in (for my other clients). But the kyronaut was a steal though.
  3. This is the exact video where I copied it from lol but I literally just bought everything. just wanted to know if everything that i bought was compatible
  4. I just wanted to know before my time on aliexpress ends on returns, more on compatibility with cooler, drive, gpu issues. (Note : I'm building this computer for my brother's graduation out of high school) So I bought to build this build Xeon 2420 v2 (AliExpress - $24) EastVista X79 Motherboard (AliExpress - $62.39) PlexHD Memory DDR3 Ram 2x8 GB 1600mhz non ECC "for intel" (AliExpress - $48.42) MSI Armor RX 470 8GB (eBay - $80) Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo (eBay - $21) Seasonic S12III 500w 80+ Bronze Power Supply (Amazon - $39.99) Patriot Burst 120gb Sata SSD (Amazon - $17.99) Toshiba 1TB 2.5 HDD (Locally - $30) Phanteks P300 Case White (Locally - $30) Thermal Grizzly Kyronaut 11 Gram Tube (Locally - $20) I just wanted to know if all these parts are compatible, I wasn't too sure, pc part picker said the cooler is not compatible. I'm not knowledgeable with intel sockets, but is the cooler gonna fit? The graphics card isnt a problem?(like spec wise cause I only know about the newer gen cards 580 & up) Are the drives gonna work even though the motherboard only has a SATA II interface? Thanks for your responses in advance. :)
  5. with all due respect it was a hardware problem cause its all a fresh install of windows, nothing was in it. but now works like a charm, i changed out the cpu for a 1600. no more problems. I sent back the 2400g for RMA. 3F539995-B8F6-4BA8-BECA-19B4C662D7F9.MP4
  6. Np, the motherboard works completely fine, its pretty much the APU. Thats why I just bought a replacement, and will return it
  7. ahh shocks, i yeah i forgot to mention I have an the MSI Performance Gaming Plus B450I Motherboard. I'll just be more detailed. It works (the 2400g) at first, but when it got to the client it was a different story. Preface - Original Hardware is : MSI Performance Gaming Plus B450I Motherboard Ryzen 5 2200g APU 16 gb HyperX Fury 3466 Mhz DDR4 Ram 550w PSU 1tb XPG NvMe Added Hardware later : Reference Design GTX 960 To be added/replaced : Ryzen 5 1600 16gb Gskill Ripjaws V 3000mhz DDR4 Ram So originally when I built this everything smooth sailing (it booted at first try, configured the XMP in BIOS, turned on MSI Game Boost, and dedicated 2gb ram to the apu) So I turned it off thinking it was already done without problems (installed windows and updated drivers including the lastest Radeon Drivers for the apu etc) Then a few days later when I was about to deliver it, I encountered a problem it wouldnt output anything (using on board graphics via dp or hdmi), but the light vga light didnt come on. So I restarted again, still didnt work. After a few tries and got to the bios I reset ed everything to default settings. Come the reboot, it worked. So thinking something wasnt right (given the temps on ryzen master were over 60c on idle) so I restarted again to test if everything would boot again, this time the vga led light came on the board but after a few seconds it went away, but still didnt produce any output. So I did another reset to default when I had the chance to get into the bios, got to the desktop and did some research. so I stumbled upon the MSI support site and recommended me that I update the bios (which i did , see pic) but still didnt solve my problem. So i thought of adding a discrete gpu instead of outputting through the board might solve my problem. (I used DDU in safe mode to remove the radeon drivers) then shutdown, installed the 960 and booted(output though DP on GPU) again to the bios to disable output from APU and turned on the XMP profile to 3466mhz, applied settings then restarted. Viola no problems what so ever (installed nvidia experience and drivers for gpu worked light a charm) Come 2 days later when my client tried to turn on her pc on monday (i did the delivery on saturday), it basically had the same problem I encountered in the first place without the GPU. then the day after that the pc said theres no boot drive (which confused me, see SS1 & 2). So I ultimately decided to replace it with a Ryzen 5 1600 and replace the ram as well to see if there was instability with the ram kits. Is there any precautions I should do before going ham on it?
  8. Hi I need help. I bought a Ryzen 5 2400g APU for one of my clients. At first it would output through with the integrated graphics but after those tries it started to lag + it wont turn on after shutting down for the night (MSI VGA LED turned on). So I thought the solution was just buying a graphics card (just put in a 960, then output through the graphics card),disabled the igpu in bios, but still didnt solve the problem. So I ultimately decided to swap out the 2400g apu for a R5 1600 CPU, My question is, would I need to clear bios or remove something etc? or just pop in the new cpu, then let it boot?
