  1. the most I was able to push my 8350K to so far was 4.8GHz, anything above that resulted in the screen freezing
  2. For the past few days, I have been getting Windows stop errors every day, and all of them were either "WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR," "CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT," or "DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION." I ran chkdsk, but I am still getting these blue screens in the middle of doing something like playing GTA. The dmp files Windows created as a result of the stop errors are in the link below; I'm asking if you can please analyze these files for anything suspicious behind the cause of these stop errors. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1BGqI2wsuyytzkb1YE3IbLBzF7XCOtioY?usp=sharing FYI: I was running on an i3-8350K which was overclocked to 4.8GHz (with 1.25V voltage) at the time of all those crashes. FULL SPECS: CPU: i3-8350K GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 6GB SSD: Samsung 970 EVO 250GB HDD: WD Blue 1TB RAM: 16GB Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 3000MHz (XMP enabled) COOLING: Corsair H100i PRO RGB 240mm MOBO: ASUS ROG Strix z370-E GAMING PSU: Corsair RM850x
  3. a) figured that since the chassis I want already comes w/ four LL fans, I could pull one/two of those to use on the CPU cooler b) if you're talking about my current PC, here it is: intel pentium J3710 @1.6ghz, up to 2.64ghz 4gb DDR3L ram, 1600mhz intel HD graphics 405 1TB WD blue ...that's basically as much as i can remember; my PC is an HP 260-a010; yes i know it's pure crap.
  4. Lately, I have been carrying out research on PC components, which I have a tight-ish budget of $1,650 USD to spend on. However, I was recently made aware that the GTX 1070 is a better GPU than the RX 580 (the GTX 1070 is more expensive), in addition to the Corsair LL fans doing a better job than the stock fans on the Corsair H100i. Due to the additional strain that these two components will put on my budget, I subsequently cut the (retail) copy of Windows 10 from my part list, which ultimately led me to wondering whether or not I can pull the hard drive from my current PC to use with my future one until I can wait slightly longer to purchase Windows 10. My hard drive has an OEM version of Windows 10 on it, from HP in particular. If you're wondering, here is a spreadsheet outlining the cost of everything I will be purchasing for my new gaming PC this upcoming winter: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1XZQJgF_k2uCS9sac3X0UZIe4kg7Rhh-x2ZI8DwXMbys/edit?usp=sharing EDIT: Another reason I chose to not get Windows 10 was because the i7-9700K was rumoured to be released this autumn; it will most likely be more pricey than the i7-8700K.
