  1. I bought a used Corsair h100i and I want to replace the coolant so I bought a gallon of distilled water but I heard that most AIO coolers have copper on the block and aluminum in the radiator. Would I need to add an anti corrosive to the distilled water or would it be fine to just replace with distilled water alone?
  2. I'll just try to clean them but I was thinking of upgrading the cooler any way so it shouldn't be much of a problem
  3. Honestly it would be a downgrade on storage but an upgrade on speeds, so it's your call really. If I were you I'd shop around for a better SSD with higher capacity storage. You could even use both the SSD and HDD together, one to boot windows and the other as storage.
  4. I would bet 100% that the SSD would be faster than his HDD from 2001.
  5. Depends on what you would use it for... 40gbs is peanuts, I can't even think of anything I could fit in that. If you are looking for a budget SSD I would recommend the XPG SX850. I've actually used one of these and they are pretty decent, cost only $32 on amazon for 128gb
  6. So I bought a computer off craigslist and when I opened it up everything smelled really bad, did not smell like burning rubber or cigarette or any other smoking product it was just a really dirty smell. I spent a long time trying to figure out what the source of the smell was and eventually found out it was the AIO Cooler. Thinking it was the radiator, I submerged the rad in warm soapy water to get rid of the stench and let it dry overnight. The next day to me disappointment I could still smell the awful odor, but not from the rad, I smelled it coming from the tubing. So at this point I am wondering how I would go about getting rid of the odor on the tubing. Any tips would be helpful, thanks.
  7. Pretty much anywhere I smell the aio smells bad Thanks for the tip I will try this.
  8. Not sure if this is the issue but I suggest you get a better CPU cooler if you are overclocking. Can't imagine how hot your CPU gets overclocking on a stock cooler.
  9. So long story short I bought a computer off craigslist and when I would turn it on it would smell like bad but in no way was it smelling like smoke or anything it just really smelled like . I made a previous post on this not knowing what the source of the smell was but in my recent discovery I have found out that smell is coming from the corsair h100i cooler. I tried cleaning it with a toothbrush dipped in rubbing alcohol as advised in my previous post but once it dried off it still smells like does anyone know how to clean an aio cooler please give me tips the smell is filling my room and soon the whole house
  10. Thanks for the tips, I'm positive its not a smoker's PC it does not smell like anything I can think of that is smoked its just a really dirty smell. I'll try the alcohol with the toothbrush I've never though of that I've been using wipes with little success so thanks
  11. Surprisingly I never even took out the PSU to check just because how long it would take especially on the H440 case but I'll try this, thanks
  12. Wow I never that of that lmao I might actually try that if I cant find any other solution, thanks
  13. I bought a pc off craigslist so I could save some money and when I got home and turned it on IT SMELLS RLLY BAD!! (It doesn't smell like a smokers pc or anything it just smells really bad) I cleaned everything out, there was a lot of dust and after getting rid of all the dust with an electric air duster the smell did seem to lessen (unless I just started getting nose blind to it) I just want a clean smelling pc so my room doesn't smell bad every time I turn on my pc. Cooler: Corsair h100i Case: NZXT H440 Specs: i5 6400 16gb ddr4 ram 128 gb ssd MSI z170a gaming m3 corsair 430 power supply Any tips on how I can remove this awful smell from my life
