  1. Hell yea, thank you. You've been a huge help. Been years since I followed current hardware so I didn't expect to have to relearn the entire market AGAIN lol.
  2. I'm actually looking at the 7800X3D right now, just finished Linus's review. I don't mind upgrading the RAM as well if I have to go to DDR5 and the AM5 upgrade path is super attractive. I'm trying to build a NAS as a steam library for me and my roomate so the more parts I need to buy for my upgrade the less I need for the server. If you're recommending it as well I guess my mind is made up. Just have to do some research on a decent price to functionality mobo and I can throw the rest together pretty easy. I really like my maximus, super reliable. But it looks like the maximus doesn't have an AM5 iteration and honestly is a little more outfitted than my actual needs. like I don't need LN2 functionality and an onboard power button, lets be honest.
  3. Yea, the 2080s is perfectly serviceable and basically anything I throw at it is technically "Playable" but it leaves a lot to be desired...You've already convinced me. Looking at cpu's and mobo's as we speak. someone recommended the 12700k. is there a better cheaper offer from AMD? always been an intel guy so I don't know much about red team.
  4. So basically what you're saying is upgrade mobo and cpu first to make sure I'm not bottlenecking on a GPU upgrade?
  5. Budget (including currency): 1000$ USD Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: AAA demanding titles, game streaming (like steam link), 3D rendering, and 4k video editing. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): So i'm mostly just looking to see if I have a noticeable upgrade path to squeeze out some more frames in demanding games. I currently have a decent rig, here is the link for the specs. It gets the job done but shows the cracks in it's armor when cranking the settings. I play at 1440p and my monitor is 144hz so trying to take full advantage. Just wondering if I would see more performance out of upgrading my CPU or my GPU. I know in order to see a noticeable improvement with a new CPU I would have to upgrade sockets (if I stay with Intel or not) which means new mobo and depending on the mobo, new RAM. (just in case you were wondering current CPU is OC to 5ghz). As for my GPU I know the 2080 super is a decent card but it too is starting to show its age. Basically, will I see a noticeable improvement upgrading at all, and if so should I focus more on my GPU or on my CPU?
  6. Just acquired a ton of free time. Trying to get back into destiny after a long while. Totally lost with all the updates. HALP
  7. I have a brand new 2080 super (parts list) and its been running great in everything for a couple weeks. But I'm getting this weird artifacting when I launch VR mark and it worries me. here's a picture of what it looks like.
  8. Nice! basically the same thing but 100$ cheaper. Thanks man. The only thing I didn't mention is I went with one 8 gig stick for expansion reasons. Be able to throw in an extra stick and a discrete gpu for light on the go AAA gaming from the pc itself however thats not my main goal here but the option would be nice.
  9. I already have a stream capable rig I'm just building one to stream play from my main rig to a small portable rig so I can play games out in the living room without moving my pc. Also to carry with me to places so I can just use geforce now. The apu I want is more than enough and even can play some not too demanding titles on its own if I plan on gaming from it. Might need more ram for that last part tho.
  10. Here is the link for my part list. Planning a basic portable pc for in home steam streaming from my main rig to the living room for social gaming. Also for Geforce now on the go hence the case with a handle for portability. Just wondering if I can make it more efficient for price to performance.
  11. So I built my best friend a pc and I am trying to get everything overclocked. It's an fx 6100 paired with an ASUS M5 A97 R2.0 mobo and 8 gigs (2x4) of Kingston Hyper X 1600mhz memory. Using a Cryorig H7 for cooling and a 500w cooler master psu. Bios version 2603 x64
  12. Just received my 20 pack of first edition LTT cable ties. It came with 22 CABLE TIES! Thank you, LMG.

  13. Got my Lambo Roast! Now to figure out where to put the stickers. Changing out my case soon to something with a little more room for water cooling and better cable management and building my friend a rig with this one so it can't go there...or can it. P.s. Linus annoys him, he calls him the shamwow computer guy.
  14. So far it's scaling well in all the games I enjoy. Battlefield V(you have to do a workaround because it doesn't work through the control panel but still shreds once you get it workling), Fallout 4, counterstrike, Fortnite (I know, it's how I bond with my nephew), PUBG, etc. Only one it doesn't work on for me is Path of Exile but I never play it. And I know it is an opinionated answer but it is my computer and all my games scale well which is my problem. My issue is they scale too well and I have more frames than I know what to do with. However, apparently the video ports on most laptops are all outs so I guess I'm just SOL with 60fps until I buy a new monitor. Oh well, It's not that big of a deal. I waited 4 months before I could assemble all my pieces to build the thing (my first btw) I think I can wait a little longer. Merry Christmas everyone, thanks for the help.
