  1. I don't see a point of buying raspberry pi as I'm planning on buying dev board with arm processor and fpga on it.
  2. I'm running win 10 desktop but I also have Ubuntu VM. Where can I find how to set up qemu? I found the manual not very useful. I tried using Visual, but it didn't seem to work with the code provided in the book, maybe I didn't set it up correctly. However, doesn't arm provide any non commercial tools for it?
  3. Hi, recently I bought this book to learn arm assembler: https://www.amazon.com/ARM-A32-Assembly-Language-32-Bit/dp/0992391695. However, I don't own an arm development board. Is there a development software in which I could program and execute arm assembly code?
  4. I took a look at the Vyper. I attached my configuration, managed to save some money by not installing windows as I can get it for free (I love student discounts). The display is LED though, is it any better than a TN panel? Also, will the build quality and cooling be good in this laptop? 1409497.pdf
  5. Dell G5 and Lenovo Y530 give same specs for higher price. Why are the options above not good?

  7. True cpu can't be upgraded, but gpu can't be upgraded either. Battery life is not important to me and weight under 4kg would be ideal but not necessary. I've made a list of potentials laptops: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/registry/wishlist/FNTAULPIDC37. Feel free to give me your opinions or give me other recommendations. I did some digging and either 7th gen i7 hq or 8th gen i5 or i7 h series are my best options. Also, I was thinking about getting a laptop from pc specialist. They custom build their laptops. It looks like the best choice but I might be wrong. What are people's opinions on them?
  8. Hi everyone. I want to buy a laptop for my university, but since I mostly used desktop before I'm not as familiar with laptop hardware so I have few questions. My budget is around £800, which should get me few good options. Would U series processor be enough for programming and maybe a bit of gaming or should I go for H series? I will be doing software programming and hardware programming (VHDL and Verilog). The latest i7 8750h is a hexa core procesor, but is the extra money spent on it worth it? If I get quad core 7th gen processor I get better other components in this price range.
