  1. Wonder why this feature wasn't incorporated into Windows?
  2. Read that article. It will be my go-to strategy if I can't find another way.
  3. 1. Is there a way, in Widows 7, to password protect a file folder without encrypting, compressing, hiding, using cloud storage or using 3rd party software? 2. if not, is there a free 3rd party software that can do this? If not what would be a good program to buy? 3. This would seem like a no-brainer option that should already be included in Windows. So why would Microsoft not have included this option? Thank you for sharing your brains with me ?.
  4. Anyone with more thoughts on buying a gaming laptop?
  5. How To Geek states "Can I Use Optane Memory Instead of DRAM or an SSD Drive? No. The 16GB and 32GB Optane M.2 modules currently being sold do not function as primary computer memory, and they don’t replace a full storage drive." So I'm thinking best standard would be to replace the Frankenstein HD with an HDD and an SSD. Ref: How To Geek https://www.howtogeek.com/317294/what-is-intel-optane-memory/
  6. So to get the 17" screen originally spec'd + the Nvidia 1060 i have to actually buy a https://www.ibuypower.com/Store/ASUS-ROG-Strix-GL703GM-WS71-Scar-Edition-Gaming-Laptop-CFL And it has a "Hybrid Drive" "1 TB Laptop Solid State Hybrid Drive with 8GB MLC 128MB CacheSingle Drive [PB]" I'm not sure what this is but I assume it's a HDD married with an SDD. Anyone have experience with this type of drive or should the drives be swapped out for seperate HDD and SSD drives?
  7. From NC USA. Budget 1500 USD or below. Usage: Gaming, dual-boxing, running Discord or TS3 in background as well as a internet browser at the same time. So need something that will run without choking on multiple processes. (Gaming ranges from Eve Online to DnD style mmorpgs. I don't usually play FPS.) Other things I will be doing on this machine will not be challenging for it. Having something better than the systems I pointed out sounds very nice. No specific weight preferred as long as it won't break easy. It can be a brick. Having battery life is nice but this system won't be mobile, so it can stay plugged in.
  8. I'm looking for a new game capable laptop and am wondering if one of these will do the trick? The: ASUS® ROG Strix GL703VD-DB74 17.3" Laptop, Intel Core i7-7700HQ, 1TB HDD, 256GB SSD, 16GB, WIN 10, NVIDIA GTX1050 (Model: GL703VDDB74) $1399.99 USD. The: ASUS® ROG Strix GL703VD-DB74 17.3" Laptop Bundle, Intel Core i7-7700HQ, 1TB HDD, 256GB SSD, 16GB, WIN 10, NVIDIA GTX1050 ( Model: GL703VDDB74STA) $1499.99 USD. Can I do better under the $1500 USD market?
