  2. Howdy folks! TLDR: SLI is a pain in the neck. Any tips for optimizing settings for best appearance and performance? Last summer, I built my first custom PC. Yes, it was a challenging experience, but I learned a lot and feel much more comfortable with components and managing a non-pre-built system. However, one thing I've struggled with for the entire year is correctly configuring various settings to get the performance one would expect from two GTX 1070's (SLI). I've done plenty of research on the topic and have worked extensively on proper settings and configs, but I still feel like I'm either missing something simple or some important info that would make a big difference. If anyone has any thoughts or tips for what can be done, I'm all ears. I'll try and provide as much information in this post as possible. For example, in PUBG I generally can only get about 50 FPS or so on Ultra. Other games can be choppy or have intermittent graphics lag. My background is in IT. I worked for Apple for several years and now work in Systems at a university. SysInfo: OS: Microsoft Windows 10 Pro OS Version: 10.0.17134 Build 17134 Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7700K CPU @ 4.20GHz, 4200 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s) Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 32.0 GB RAM Type: Corsair 3000MHz 32GB (8GB x 4) Total Virtual Memory: 56.2 GB Page File Space: 24.3 GB OS Drive Samsung 850 EVO 500gb Cooling: Corsair H100i v2 PSU: Corsair RM850i Graphics: ASUS ROG STRIX GTX1070 OC (x2) Monitor: ASUS PB277Q (2560 x 1440) Software: MSI Afterburner: Core +50Mhz, Memory +50Mhz Corsair iCUE (AIO cooler, PSU fans, all custom profiles favoring higher fan speeds) nVidia Profile Inspector: Custom profiles for all games, forced SLI One of the main things that I noticed was the ASUS GPU Tweak 2 software seemed to be an issue. I uninstallled it and now use MSI Afterburner. I use a mild overclock, but have also tried just using stock settings. With nVidia Profile Inspector, I tweak individual settings for nearly every game I play and test the results quite a few times. Here are a few of the settings that I use almost unilaterally: Maximum pre-rendered frames: 1 Triple buffering: On Vertical Sync: Fast Sync Vertical Sync Tear Control: Standard or Adaptive Gamma Correction: Off Antialiasing Mode: Override application settings Antialiasing Setting: 16xS [Combined: 2x2 SS + 4x MS] Antialiasing Transparency Multisampling: 8x Supersampling MFAA: Enabled Anisotropic filtering mode: User-defined Anisotropic filtering setting: 16xS Texture filtering - Anisotropic filter optimization: On Texture filtering - Anisotropic sample optimization: On Antialiasing - SLI AA: Enabled Number of GPUs to use on SLI rendering mode: GPU_COUNT_FOUR (Two settings below identical to above) Predefined SLI mode: Force AFR2 (Two settings below identical to above) Single display performance mode Lastly, the games that I play currently: Guild Wars 2 Rainbow 6 Siege PUBG Rocket League Elder Scroll Online SWTOR I know this is a ton of information, but I was hoping to be able to answer as much as I could in this post so that it's easier to identify the issue. If you made it this far, thank you very much for reading. I'd greatly appreciate any tips/tricks. -Andy
