  1. i have a z390-f board and disabling xmp fixes this for me but i was told double booting doesn't do any harm so instead of using xmp i just selected the speeds my ram was rated for
  2. Oh, i'm pretty sure the strix cards have thermals pads on there, but i will give undervolting a try, my card goes to 1999 mhz in valley benchmark. I'm considering underclocking it to 1900 mhz would that affect performance or even benefit me at all? I also read running your card on a benchmark overnight might help. Thanks for helping so far
  3. Hey guys so i recently bought a used 1080ti strix and i've noticed there is some audible coil whine when under load, i was thinking maybe placing a thick thermal pad on the capacitors might dampen the noise? I've looked at other solutions like undervolting and burn in tests which i will attempt once i have the time. I am fully aware that i can't completely remove coil whine but i would like to reduce it without limiting performance. Also RMA isn't an option for me.
  4. Too late , i spent the extra money and got an xps 13 9370 and im loving it so far! :)
  5. I would prefer a screen with good colors but it doesn't have to be 100% Adobe RGB or whatever it's called. Here are some links. Thanks for help so far https://www.elgiganten.dk https://www.power.dk https://www.komplett.dk https://www.dustinhome.dk https://www.happii.dk
  6. I'm from Denmark and my budget is around 900 but I can throw some more money if it's worth it, I prefer 13.3 inch but 14 inch is also okay and I want around 8 hours of battery life so it can survive a day of school and it's gonna mostly be used for word documents and surfing so i dont mind if ram is non upgradeable as long as it's 8gb. Ive really been leaning towards the xps 13 i5 8250u model
  7. Cheapest xps 13 in my country is the i5 8250u config for 1300 dollars while the asus one i mentioned is 980 dollars, which one do you think is more worth it in the long term?
  8. What do you think about the Asus ZenBook Flip 14" 2-i-1? i found it on discount and its got an i5 8250u and mx150 graphics
  9. XPS 13 looks really nice, any idea on the battery life? im hoping to get around 8 hours on a charge
  10. I don't want a mac i just like their built quality and battery life, im coming from a lenovo ideapad y700 which is a gaming laptop and i would dual boot but the larger storage options are out of my budget
  11. I've been looking around for a ultrabook that has the same battery life and build quality as a macbook but for my studies i need a windows laptop. what can yall recommend?
  12. Alright i've done it now, the double boot only happens after not having the system booted for a while so i'll write back tommorow if it still double boots. But thanks for everyones help
  13. Should i just go into my bios and pick 2666mhz and leave everything else on auto then?
