  1. Yeah i'd usually use DDU, but I want to be fully sure. Thanks. I wonder why it would do that, is that common for windows updates. My monitor doesnt seem to show them until I enter login screen and whats more it stayed on after it was shut down
  2. Yeah must have been during the windows shutdown. Going to do a windows reset as wont be happy unless I know its fully back
  3. Today I booted up, but the screen was on but not showing an image. I pressed the button on my PC. Tuned off the monitor and PC and when I loaded back up, half the screen was cut off and low res on my display when when set to 1440p I went to windows updates and it says the "We could not complete the installation because an update service was shutting down". I have a feeling it was installing and update hence why my monitor wasnt turning on. Also when I loaded it gave me a sort of windows blue update screen.
  4. was asking the question was to discover what was happening when the two cables touched. I am not repeating the event.
  5. But why could I repeat the process. For example touching the other side of the other DP cable with my second one would cause the primary to lose display. Just plugging them in normally (to separate ports) didn't do this.
  6. Yeah, what I mean is that one port touched the other ports DP connection, which caused it to go off. Just plugging in to the other port didn't do that. It was also repeatable. I thought I was some kind of short circuit
  7. I was testing two monitors and one was plugged in, the other was on. When the other touched the first DP input before going into the second my primary monitor flashed off. Could this have damaged either monitor or GPU (or even other parts of the PC) Over 1500 worth of equipment was plugged in.
  8. I noticed today that my PC's power BLUE LED was not on. So I opened up the PC and put back the power les headers on the mobo. They came back on but were flickering and I noted one of the cable metal pin was slightly loose (probably why its flickering on and off) I unplugged them and the annoying HDD lights too, Could the flickering have caused any damage to the PC and is it inadvisable to not have the power led connected, should I get a new case?
  9. I have the Samsung CRG5 24. When I enable free sync ultimate and then G-sync in the control panel it is fine. In apex after capping my fps at 143, there is tearing. Below that at 142 it works but does this odd slow mo sort of stutter. I know the Model isn't G-Sync verified compatible, could this be why. I don't see why it wouldn't. Maybe its just apex?
  10. I purchased the monitor coming from a TN display (Benq XL2411) Looked at VA for better image quality but right now upon booting the monitor looks awful. The peak brightness of 260 nits looks FAR dimmer than my 250nit benq. The colours looks really dull too. I maxed out the colours to a 100 but got some very bad results (text turned green) There are no reviews for the monitor so how am ai able to properly calibrate it apply an ICC? Samsung CRG5 24 Odyssey
  11. Was putting my new cooler and on and I had some thermal paste on my hand accidently. On 2 of the side pins a bit got on them. I don't have access to 99% alcohol where i live so I spend two or so hours cleaning the pins with both paper and Q-tips VERY thoroughly. There was no visible paste and the only thing that could possibly have remained was a tiny layer on the bottom of the pin. The PC is botting and running OK Any concern here? I know thermal paste isn't conductive. Master gel v2
  12. So I solved my issue. My windows wasn't activated and the overlay must have been bugging out the application or something. That would also explain why it came on "over time", since the windows activation overlay does after 3 hours.
  13. the rated tRC for my DOCP profile is this, but on the memory tab it is stating 84 clocks? Also it has automiically set the DOCP to 18, 22, 22 on boot once. What is this?: 5600x ROG STRIX B550
  14. Yeah the chipset drivers are the latest. What's a ryzen power profile?
  15. They are 4600, minimum 3000 but that's idling. Its the stock cooler. There wont be any thermal throttling until 90c on Ryzen I've been told and its well under that? Also nothing suggest thermal throttling since it happens on restart when temps are low 70-75 under load in cold ambient conditions.
  16. My temps max out at 82 on OCCT Cpu testing. The issues persists in games when temps are well below that at 70-75c. I don't see it being a thermal problem.
  17. So I did a test then and I'm looking at max 78c, since its cooler now in ambience. It isn't happening but It will soon, maybe in 30 mins or so.
  18. Stable. I am seeing this when its much cooler at 70-74c too, such as this afternoon. As it comes on all I can think of is that some process is causing it but I don't for the life of me understand how its possible to see such large "faux" fps drops when they aren't actually happening. HA
  19. Nope temps are completely normal. around 82c max on heavy OCCT load for the 5600x. Gpu doesn't even touch 60 really (rog strix). There are NO signs of any hardware failures. I have ran OCCT stress testing, no errors. All framerates and frametimes are solid yet what I am seeing on screen is large fps drops, that seems to come in "waves". I though that maybe its a monitor problem but when it starts to happen in apex I go to test another game and it is fine. Restarting multiple times seems to fix the issue.
  20. 1070, never had problems with it in any other build.
