  1. Latest 2002, all games, BenQ 144HZ. Don't Linux
  2. I have installed windows in different version and increments over 30 times. Tried all the way back to 1709 (windows) Specs are always changing trying to get rid of the stuttering but currently ASUS strix z270h 1070Strix 6700k 16gb 2400MHZ Samsung EVO 860 EVGA G2 GOLD
  3. You can read my post history if you wanted to. The stuttering has presented itself over many years, but I have never fully replenished the build always just added and taken away. My theory is one component is damaging the other severe time I install something it breaks. The stuttering severe and affect all games. Shown in frame time graphs clearly, where others dont have the issue even on similar hardware.
  4. Tending to steer away from OC as I've been diagnosing stuttering for many years.
  5. Coming round to the idea of getting a 3600 now. Having read somethings about more even frame times. How are B450 boards, any good?
  6. The stuttering far beyond normal troubleshooting. I have tested in depth including monitoring voltages and frame time graphs in correctional order over many years. Why is the 3600 better, do you have the X version?
  7. Yeah, was more talking about eh quality of the boards. I wont be overclocking with either 3600 or 10700 so.
  8. Dont nessecarily have to go intel. But wouldn't a b460 board be OK, it is msi? Could either get a 3600 with a B450 for 240 or a 10700 witha B460 for 400
  9. Have been diagnosing stuttering for over 3 years, buying up different components. So spend a lot of time and money trying to fix the issue. HGAve hteory that one of the parts is shorting all the other parts every time I install new components so going to install all together this time. My issue is that I dont know if the 3600 will be a good enough upgrade for my PC. I plan to buy a 3070/3080 when they release and wan tot future proof the CPU. Do you think the 3600 is enough, I guess its comparable to the 8700k?
  10. Because Intel performs much better in games than AMD from all my personal testing and also many youtube videos. Why don't you like Non Overclockable chips? Don't want to wait. Was mostly after Mobo advice.
  11. Not sure why you quoted budget, I've spend thousands already trying to fix the PC, so I'm not spending more unnecessarily. At 1080p the Intel chips seem to have much better performance than AMD chips. In fact the 10600k has significantly better fps than the 3600 form benhcmarks.
  12. The 10700k is nearly 400 while the 10700 is 330 @4.8Ghz only a few down from 5.1Ghz. Surely there would be be much performance different. Its to try and diagnose stuttering so. Not going AMD so its between the two. Gaming.
  13. Looking to upgrade my CPU to see if it helps stuttering. I will need a new board too. 10700k is over my budget, so was wondering if getting a 10600k or a 10700 stock would be best. What is a reliable and cheper MOBO for non OC the 10700? Was thinking the MSI b460M with the 10700?
  14. To say I have a stuttering issue is an understatement. Check my post history, it has been going on for years. I have never had a working PC. Period. Nobody has been able to diagnose or fix my PC. Have basically descended into madness trying to fix stuttering over multiple builds and PC's. Does anyone know of anyone professional that knows the in's and outs of stuttering assocated with games and videos?
  15. A few members here helped me with the Ram, but now my issue is much worse. I recently updated my RAM from a 2400Mhz G-skill Cl15 to a 3200MHz Corsair RGB Pro CL16kit. After (sucessful installation) I noticed large FPS drops but now the old ram is exhibiting them too. I now have WAY worse problems than I had before. A few mistakes were made here. Upon installing I didn't rest the BIOS, it wouldn't boot and I had both CPU error Red light and DRAM Orange LIGHT I didn't realise that using XMP puts strain on the CPU Memory controller and that the 1.35V OC that XMP applied. When booting the new RAM I had timing on auto but speed set to 2400MHZ I now have horrendous low fps drops and the worst input lag I've ever experienced, like V-sync off the charts input latency (even with high FPS). when the FPS drops the inoput latency isnt respective to said FPS. Its like dragging the mouse through molasses. Is the memory controller or MOBO broken why am I suddenly getting such crazy input latency? Such a shame becuase I finally solved my stuttering after months of relentless troubleshooting and I throw it all away by putting new ram in. Have: Installed Old RAM Reset BIOS Turned XMP off and on. Used different ports for mouse. Thanks! Z270H 6700k 4.5Ghz (1.325) Stable for years 1070 NO OC Samsung Evo 860 Evga G2 Gold 650w
  16. Already returning it, they weren't cheap price wise. Getting horrendous input lag and now bad frames with the older ram on the old setting now too. Guessing I've fried the CPU controller by what you all are saying here.
  17. Just installed my old RAM and the performance issues seems to be present again. Maybe I fried the CPU memory controller?
  18. All games are on SSD. So its possible that I've broken the system. What are the actual symptoms of CPU memory controller breaking. Is there an "in between" where it doesn't work as well as it should or does it stop working.
  19. Another point, I made a thread before this one where it wouldnt POST with the new RAM. I was running a non XMP profile of 2400Mhz. There was a Red Indicator followed by a yellow one (For my MOBO that means CPU error and DRAM error). Could this cause harm to the memory controller?
  20. BenQ 144hz. There is no crashing but I'm getting much lower fps drops that are hindering game play. I play apex competitively. One thing to note as you mentioned the memory controller being pushed too hard with ram, does the same go for lower timing on RAM that isn't designed for it. The reason I say this is that when I booted the new RAM, there was an error where the CPU indicator was and DRAM indicator was flashing because I left my previous BIOS setting for the older ram in place without defaulting. Worried that it may have broken the CPU controller?
  21. Thanks, but when we talk about performance are we talking straight fps or will there be other issues with the memory controller not being able to handle the RAM speed? Stuttering is my main problem for many years.
  22. Thanks, The board is an Asus Strix Z270H ands the memory is Corsair RGB PRO 3200Mhz CL16. https://imgur.com/a/P3XbLfa The memory has now CL16 enabled now, XMP had an issue. What I am concerned with is what sort of performance issues actually occurs if there was an issue with the memory controller not being able to handle 3200Mhz. Dont like the grey area, will there be slight stuttering, or lower lows with normal high fps for example? Surely I would be seeing 50%+ performance loss on the lower fps?
  23. Are there any instructions to see what performance issues might occur? I take it they mean specifically CPU shortfalls. How can this be measured properly. Seems common place people using ram at 3200Mhz with similar CPU's. Even the latest 10700K supposedly support 2933Mhz, but people are pushing well over 4000Mhz on those CPU's.
  24. But wouldn't XMP override this. Surely I wouldn't see much lower fps with faster ram? Noticed in CPU-z under "SPD" timing table the XMP CAS# latency states 16 but when I go to "Memory" tab it states 17 as CAS latency.
