  1. Thanks, just looked into it and it looks like it would work well. Im still considering going for a usb or pcie card to support wifi though, since the price difference is pretty small and the B450 Pro4 seems to have better features.
  2. Thanks for the tips, I'll look more into what benefits the 3600x has (or doesn't have) over the 3600. They used 16gb (2x8) of ram, though I personally chose a different power supply.
  3. Am planning on building my new value PC in the next 2 weeks or so and am very excited. I chose almost the same specs as the $800 PC showcased on the LTT channel in a recent build (link). However, I noticed that the motherboard they used (ASrock B450 Pro4) does not support WiFi. I am looking for a board in a similar price range (~$80) with similar features that includes dual band wifi support. I have done my best to find one, but am honestly not that technically adept and am having trouble understanding whether or not the board would be compatible with a Ryzen 3600X. If you could help by recommending a motherboard with the aformentioned features, I would really appreciate it. Thanks! TLDR: Looking for a motherboard which supports a ryzen 3600X, has dual band wifi, has similar features to the ASRock B450 Pro4, and is in a similar price range (~$80). Recommendations appreciated
  4. Thanks! Just wanted to clarify that I installed the SSD into the laptop myself, then transferred the OS from the hard drive to the ssd. Would that make a difference? Also, for #3 would you typically route the graphics card to the IO or just plug in your display cable straight into the graphics card?
  5. So, recently I finalized all of the PC parts I will be buying (Might post them in new builds later) but I realized there were still quite a few things I was confused about that they didn't focus on in any build guide. 1. In Linus' videos I have seen him unable to post, then some sort of 2 digit counter on his motherboard gives him an error code. Do all motherboards have these? If not, how are you supposed to determine the issue preventing you from posting? 2. How do you Install windows? If i take the SSD I already have in my laptop and put it in that desktop will it just boot straight into windows? 3. I have seen people say that you need to plug in your display cable to your graphics card, not your integrated graphics. How do you know which port is which? 4. are anti-static wrist straps really necessary? 5. Are there any tools besides a screw driver (and possibly an anti-static wrist strap) that I will need? Thanks to everyone who helps me out and responds!
  6. I reinstalled it using the flash drive, it was messing up through safe mode so I just ran the executable on the flash drive. it kept my files and made it recognize as a boot option. there just must have been something up with the way I copied the files not triggering windows to recognize it as a boot option.
  7. It helped a bunch, thanks so much. I managed to get it working perfectly and kept all my files, I was pretty worried about this bcs its the first pc part ive installed myself and I didn't want to mess something up ?!
  8. Ok, thanks. Ill try that one and message you back in a bit when it is done.
  9. What do you mean fix boot? How do I do that? I know how to do a fresh install of windows but not that.
  10. If I boot from usb and fix installation then wont that clear all the data on my SSD? My SSD is not Sata, its M.2 so it has its own slot, they are both in the system right now.
  11. How do I find that? I have a VERY basic BIOS with this laptop (its an HP Omen 15) and I did not see that. The HGST and the number is the name of my HDD, therefore I would think thats where I choose from my drives which one to use.
  12. I just took photos in my BIOS, this is the option you were referring to if I am correct and it only shows one drive. The second picture is the option I use to boot using the SSD manually.
  13. Well idk then, ill go double check but I have checked all options, even the specific one you mention.
  14. Yes, I do have both of those options, but when I go in to change the drive priority it only shows the HDD. My SSD simply isnt being recognized in the BIOS.
