  1. Hey guys, I'm buying a new PC for Visual Effects work (Houdini - which is Multi-core CPU Rendering Software), GPU is the least important part in my build i think, but i still need a very decent one so it won't cause me problems and still benefit me when it comes to GPU Acceleration. My Budget is around 2000$ (USD). I had a recommended build for 1500$, but now i can squeeze more money up to 2000$. The 1500$ Build Recommendation: CPU: AMD Ryzen 2700 (8 Cores - 3.2 GHz - 4.1 Turbo GHz - 20 MB Smart cache) GPU: NVIDIA GTX 1050Ti 4GB RAM: 64 GB DDR4 Storage: 240 GB SSD Storage: 2 TB HDD Motherboard: B350 Gaming PS: I don't need Mouse/Keyboard or Screen. Thanks!
  2. Okay excellent, so are there some GPUs that fit better into workstations in general than other GPUs? or each specific workstation build requires a specific list of GPUs to be compatible with at best? or neither of those options and it just doesn't matter at all as long as i have a strong enough GPU?
  3. Hey guys, i recently bought a new workstation (which i didn't know a thing about when i did) and i'm trying to catch up to see if what i bought is really worth it or can be upgraded. What i know of its components that is not strong enough is the GPU (as i was told), but i don't know to what extent is it not good and if i want to upgrade it and still maintain the workstation compatibility (as i was told also!), what should i do? I use my workstation for editing and motion graphics (After Effects & Premiere) and recently for 3D and VFX (Houdini), my main focus was an excellent CPU with a lot of RAM but lately when i worked with stuff that required powerful GPU, i felt that it was dragging me down! I have read a lot and watched videos about tech, but still i'm pretty much a newbie, so please help me out, my workstation specs are as follows: Workstation: HP Z420 Workstation - CPU: Intel Xeon CPU E5-2650 @ 2.0 GHz. - GPU: Nvidia Quadro K600. - RAM: 32 GB DDR3 (1600 MHz). - Motherboard: HP 1589. Thanks a lot!
