Hey guys, i recently bought a new workstation (which i didn't know a thing about when i did) and i'm trying to catch up to see if what i bought is really worth it or can be upgraded.
What i know of its components that is not strong enough is the GPU (as i was told), but i don't know to what extent is it not good and if i want to upgrade it and still maintain the workstation compatibility (as i was told also!), what should i do?
I use my workstation for editing and motion graphics (After Effects & Premiere) and recently for 3D and VFX (Houdini), my main focus was an excellent CPU with a lot of RAM but lately when i worked with stuff that required powerful GPU, i felt that it was dragging me down!
I have read a lot and watched videos about tech, but still i'm pretty much a newbie, so please help me out, my workstation specs are as follows:
Workstation: HP Z420 Workstation
- CPU: Intel Xeon CPU E5-2650 @ 2.0 GHz.
- GPU: Nvidia Quadro K600.
- RAM: 32 GB DDR3 (1600 MHz).
- Motherboard: HP 1589.
Thanks a lot!
