I know with BLD I'm hurting myself but I really value the convenience of it. Just place an order, unbox and go. But if I see a build that has a much better value but I have to put it together then I'll just have to build it. ?

Well thats why I'm asking the community for some guidance. Theres not a TON of options on the NZXT BLD site. You have about 5-6 items in each category (cpus, gpus, mobos, ram, etc..). If you have a free few minutes, I'd love to see your suggestion via their site (AMD or Intel).

They do offer AMD CPUs but I'm not sure which motherboard is best that they offer.

I put the parts in PC partpicker and they're basically on par. I am paying a premium for them building it for me as well as shipping. But then again this is why Im seeking some advice from the community. I want to see what other people suggest who have invested a lot more time than me into researching parts and such.

As I mentioned, I don't really have a preference on CPU. I would try one of the new Ryzen chips with no problem, I'm just not sure which. I don't really care about brand, I just want quality and something that will last, so Samsung, ADATA, or Corsair don't matter to me ?

Hi everyone! I'm in the market for a new gaming/work PC. My current machine is a little over 5 years old. My budget is about 3K and I already have all the peripherals I need(1080P monitor[plans to upgrade to 4k later this year], mouse, keyboard, etc). 90% of the time the computer will be used for gaming. I play all your standard triple A titles(CoD, CSGO, Witcher, etc). I'd like to be able to run the games on VERY HIGH(I want the build to last another 4-5 years). The other 10% of the time, I use Linux and do some coding and system administration tasks. Call me lazy but I'm really leaning towards one of those prebuilt machines from NZXT or any other prebuilt vendors. But I am not totally against building it myself again if I can get a good deal. A majority of my builds have always been Intel CPU(only AMD build was a 1090T) but no real preference for either. I welcome your own custom builds from PCpartpicker, NZXT, or any other prebuilt vendor. I'm just trying to explore some options. This is the NZXT build I was looking at:

It's 1400 USD for the 2080 Ti. That's 70% of my budget.

Trying to avoid the used market because this will be a "business" purchase. So I want to buy things only that I can get new directly from Amazon, Newegg, etc

While the main use for the computer is gaming, I do dual boot to Linux for my 9-5. I run VMs and compile software.

For the CPU, I'm currently inbetween 9700K or the 9900K. I haven't settled on one yet because I am still playing around with the GPU.

I will eventually upgrade to a 4K monitor, just waiting for the prices to come down. My current 32 is a 1080P 75hz.

So I'm currently not gaming on 4K. Just 1080P on a 32inch.

My question to the community is what company would you go with for a custom gaming pc? Cyberpower, DigitalStorm, Origin, etc?
