  1. Hey guys, I am currently slowly but steadily upgrading my build. I just swapped my GTX 780 for a 2080 Super and my next plan is upgrading to a 2TB SSD, new motherboard + RAM and a 3900x for a CPU. Right now I am rocking a i7 4770k OC 4x4.0 GHz. I am also planning on adding a hardline water cooling. I am planning on doing this after the whole performance upgrade though because money. That is also why I am upgrading part by part. So now the question is: Which motherboard and RAM to go with? And should I get a NVMe for my motherboard instead of a SSD? Right now my CPU is the bottleneck and my 128GB SSD is annoyingly full. So like wait for my new motherboard before upgrading my storage? I read that NVMe speeds do not really have any big effect on game load times etc. Btw. I have specifically purchased a RTX 2080 Super that has custom water blocks available for later. Price is not really an issue. I want a well suited setup for the next years but nothing completely overpriced like a 2080ti. I occasionally render stuff and game a lot. Also any nice case you can recommend? Should I transfer my PC directly to the new case or should I wait for the hardline tubing for the new case? I am fairly experienced but not really up to date when it comes to motherboard and RAM Timings + Frequencies for Ryzen CPUs. Have the issues with RAM Frequencies been solved? When it comes to RAM I guess 3600 Mhz for the Ryzen are fine then? Thanks in advance and have a nice weekend!
  2. I am buying in germany, but I think price difference is near zero too. So question still is Ryzen or rather an Intel? I mean for gaming Intel is better but also more expensive. Does it make sense to go for a Ryzen and spend the 100 bucks or something on something else?
  3. Yea. Overclocking will be done. I mean why not with such a budget? Although this has no NVMe. Why is that? Any particular reason? Do you think water cooling has no advantage over an air cooler? Looks good to me. Don't think he will need 8TB of HDD storage though. I'd rather go with 1 TB 970 Evo and a 1 TB HDD or something. Any reason for the Ryzen? Gaming wise Intel is better right?
  4. Hey guys, I am currently planning a 2000€ gaming build for a friend of mine. The budget can be solely spend on pc parts because the peripherals have a seperate budget. If needed the budget can be extended to ~2500€. He will not do anything like rendering etc. so the CPU should deliver the best frame rate in games and the single core performance is more important than the multi core performance and amount of cores. He is planning to run 2 - 3 monitors which should be pretty irrelevant with a build of this size. He has nothing that can be reused because his components are pretty old so the only thing that we could reuse is a harddrive. Right now I am thinking of: CPU: 9700k GPU: RTX 2070 or 2080 Motherboard: Dunno about that. There are so many out there RAM: 16 - 32GB DDR4 of some sort Storage: 500GB - 1 TB 970 EVO + some kind of SATA SSD or HDD CPU Cooler: Dunno really. Is a all in one water solution for the CPU any good? Case: Well I guess he'd like something "fancy" with a bit of RGB. Not too much but it should look pretty and "gamerish". PSU: 700W? Thanks in advance for any help guys Feel free to suggest any changes or upgrades.
  5. Thanks for your opinion. Any specific reasons why you'd go with that model over the others?
  6. Hey guys, I am currently looking for a good budget 144Hz Gaming Monitor. Any suggestions? Budget: ~ up to 250-270 Euro Prospective Resolution (3840x2160, etc.): 1920 x 1080 Size (27 inches, etc.): 24 inches Aspect Ratio: 16:9 Adaptive Sync (GSync, FreeSync, or None): None really needed because G-Sync (I own a 780 TI) would be out of the budget range it most cases Other Features: None really. Would be nice to adjust height and tilt it though. But in general just best gaming experience. Usage Type: Gaming (PUBG, CoD, Minecraft, Planet Coaster, Mount and Blade Warband, TF2, CS:Go etc.) Monitors I have considered: LG IT Products 24GM79G-B, Acer XF240H, AOC G2460PF, Viewsonic XG2401, Samsung C24FG73. Sadly it is really hard to tell these apart and find the best one so I am open for any advice or new suggestions. I am from Germany, so keep that in mind when it comes to pricing and availability. Thanks in advance to everyone that is gonna help me out. Best regards, Jalau
