  1. Okay, thanks for the insight... One last question (sorry for being so ignorant haha) is the difference between 3000 and 3200 a big difference, or is it not even very noticeable? ( especially since its 32 gb) Thanks for your insight
  2. Because it's not supported does that mean it won't work at all or does it just mean that it might not reach 3200 (and only reach like 2900)..?
  3. Probably this one MSI Arsenal Gaming (B450 Tomahawk) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07F7W5KJS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_nqy9Bb19D38D5 I would love b-die but its soooooo expensive... My build is going to be something similar to this: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Stottart/saved/BTnKBm
  4. need some thoughts on ram.... Should I go with this : Corsair LPX 32GB DRAM 3000MHz C15 Memory Kit for DDR4 Systems https://www.amazon.com/dp/B014UYPEXE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_ZOx9Bb7CJMA1Z Or this: https://m.newegg.com/products/N82E16820232091?ignorebbr=1&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-PCPartPicker%2c+LLC-_-na-_-na-_-na&AID=10446076&PID=3938566 The corsair has 15 timing But the gskill has 3200 memory... this would be for a ryzen 7 2700x thanks

  6. Thanks.. now I just need to decide if I should wait for a better offer on Black friday.
  7. Both of these components are on sale... I don't see the ram in the compatibility list but I thought I'd get your thoughts on it. . You think they are worth a buy or should I hold off and see what else comes. https://pcpartpicker.com/product/nQc48d/asrock-x470-master-sliac-atx-am4-motherboard-x470-master-sliac https://pcpartpicker.com/product/kXbkcf/gskill-memory-f43200c16d32gvk
  8. I ended up getting that EVGA powersuply Also...what do you all think of this ram Its 32gb at 3200 speed and a good deal it seems. https://m.newegg.com/products/N82E16820232091?ignorebbr=1&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-PCPartPicker%2c+LLC-_-na-_-na-_-na&AID=10446076&PID=3938566
  9. If I end up finding a deal on a ryzen 2700x plus a gtx 1080' I should still be good with this as well right?...(sorry for all the qustions)), but I appreciate the feedback)
  10. I might hold off, just In case I decide to go that route... ha
  11. Quick question...I just saw this awesome deal https://m.newegg.com/products/N82E16817438053?ignorebbr=1&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-PCPartPicker%2c+LLC-_-na-_-na-_-na&AID=10446076&PID=3938566 550w should be plenty for a build similar to this right? Or would it be safer to get 650w? https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Stottart/saved/BTnKBm ( there is a chance I might get a 1080 or vega 64 if the right deal arises)

Or would it be safer to get 650w?
  13. And if there are any other opinions or findings please feel free to post them here.
  14. Thanks once again for your feedback... It looks like I have a couple of options and ways to adjust. I think what I'll do is keep an eye in the sales over the week and adjust from there.. I'll keep you all updated as I make those discoveries.
  15. Thanks a ton for all of your insight... I did a bit more research...I think that having the 32gb ram and a couple more cores ( 8 )will be super beneficial, but I also see the need for a better monitor possibly..? I should clarify which monitors I currently own... -one of which is a cintiq, used for drawing and sculpting (I'll be hanging onto this for a while ). It is an h-ips monitor. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/974580-REG/wacom_dth2200_cintiq_22_hd_touch.html -the second is like 7 years old...its a Samsung 24' at 1080p.
  16. Daaaang, I didnt think I could afford a threadripper in my budget range...I'll need to do a bit of quick research in regards to the threadripper. I do worry a little that the 1060 will struggle with newer games especially in the next year or two. What do you think?
  17. I'm hoping to future proof a bit but perhaps a 1060 would be sufficient? Or maybe there is an AMD card that would do a good job at a good price point for 1080?
  18. I don't have specific plans in the immediate future of getting a new monitor, but I would like to future proof this PC for the many years ahead. Can you describe what you mean by " probably unpowered if you think you are going to need a lot of CPU cores" ...thanks
  19. Thanks for the input... I think that I want to stick with 32gb ram because it'll be super beneficial for some of the art programs I'll be using. I'll look into the 4x8 sticks though, that's a great idea. I've heard great things about the 1070ti, so that just might be the best option unless something pops up during the week.
  20. Hey everybody! I'm planning a new build. I've had my computer for about 7 years now with almost no upgrades. With black Friday upon us, now is the time for me to create a new build. I will be using this for two main things... 1) gaming ( everything from pubg, to Dirt , to assassins creed odyssey etc.) 2) creating art ( using photoshop, zbrush, maya, substance painter and marvelous designer) -My budget is fairly tight...at no more than $1450, meaning I can't creep above that price -I'm in the United states -im using 2 basic 1080p 24' monitors here is what I'm thinking https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Stottart/saved/BTnKBm I'm very flexible with the parts and brands, but I prefer good warranties. A few things to consider with that list. - already ordered a meshify c from Amazon for $75, I'm just waiting for it to ship. (The case is part of the budget) -I would prefer a vega 64 or gtx 1080, but I haven't found any great deals (besides the blower style vega 64 out there) so I might have to settle with a 1070ti -that motherboard listed is supposedly going on sale for about $100 on Black friday. ( https://www.theblackfriday.com/newegg-black-friday-ad.shtml?page=6 ) Thanks ahead of time, I'm sure I will be making slight adjustments as I recieve your feedback and see deals pop up during the week. - tyler
  21. Thanks all for the advice... I can't imagine ever using more than 32 GB but I'll consider only doing 2 sticks for that reason but probably only if I can find a killer deal. I haven't seen one yet, maybe something will pop up.
  22. Hey all... I've done some research but things are still a bit unclear for me so I thought I'd ask here I'm planning to get 32gb ram (3200 speed) this week for a new build and I've noticed that I can get it cheaper on 4 sticks rather than 2 sticks. In general Is there a significant difference in performance doing one over the other? I'm considering doing a ryzen 7 2700x build with an x470 motherboard. And I'm using the build for gaming and 3D design work. The build will be something like this (but not exactly,...I might get a gtx 1080 and a different power supply for example, but they will be parts that are comparable) https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Stottart/saved/BTnKBm Thanks!
  23. Thanks Lienus...that's what I was looking for
  24. Thanks for the responses.. I mentioned the EVGA G2 and G1+ specifically because those are the ones that I've heard are good...I realize that not all EVGA cards are great, but from what I've gathered those ones are so Im hoping to find comparable quality power supplies and then I can have a list of them ready for shopping next week. (just in case there is a killer deal...I want to be ready) Im planning on a new build, something like this: gtx 1080 Ryzen 7 2700X or I7 8700K 32 gb ramm and a few hdds (m.2, SSD, and regular HDD) Im in the united states, so I have a lot of options for purchasing. My budget for the power supply would be no more than $80 (preferably less, which is why Im waiting til black Friday) The size would be similar to the ones I listed in the original post, 550-650w. Thanks again for your input.
