  1. Unfortunately I live in Malaysia, things here stay at MSRP even well after they are outdated or obsolete. g274qpf-qd here is actually slightly more expensive than the E2 lmao. Unfortunately q27g3xmn is not available here. Thanks for help.
  2. I see, I will look into this further, since LG is actually a brand I trust more than Dell and MSI. Thanks for the input.
  3. I have actually looked into this monitor before, not sure if below average contrast ratio would bother me or not, and this is around 10% more expensive than the option I'm considering. I will look into this further, thanks for the suggestion.
  4. Then I should probably go with the MSI, I buy the monitor online but I can pick it up from the store and inspect them. The shop that sells the Dell monitor is in a different state entirely in my country while the MSI's shop is just 15 minutes drive away. Thanks for the help, I shall wait for more opinions and reviews before making decision.
  5. I see, I don't care much about the HDR tbh, from what I've seen they only work well on expensive panels. I only want a straight up all around upgrade from my AOC (aside from contrast ratio obviously). My only worry is MSI having QC issue, and I have been burnt by their product before. I RMAed their controller 3 times in 3 weeks. I can return the monitor and get warranty easily but I'd rather not. Do you any issue using your MSI monitor?
  6. I have the Dell vs MSI monitor RTINGS link bookmarked actually. Dell seems to be ever so slightly superior to the MSI, but that one is the old version, I found no review of the successor the E2 version aside from a few redditor saying it's better than the old one.
  7. Greetings everyone. Currently looking for a monitor upgrade from my AOC C72G2, a 1080p Curve VA 165hz monitor. I am torn between Dell G2724D and MSI MAG 274QRF QD E2. I'm tempted to buy the MSI since it has more features on paper(KVM switch, usb hub, quantum dot) and it's newer but I can barely find any review of it, I also worry about their quality control. Seems to have quite a few post about dead pixel, while Dell has a singular post about backlight bleed after a few months. Should I go with the Dell or the newer unreviewed MSI?
  8. I know, doing this with my monitor now, 900p 75hz custom mode. However I'd prefer native support as custom mode create problem sometimes (keep resetting, shuttering in some games), or just not available for some games.
  9. So I plan to breplace my old 900p HP monitor with VIEWSONIC VX2457-MHD, 24 inch 75hz monitor with free sync. However I run an GTX 960. I've read some articles about 75hz won't be available to Nvidia user or it would create frame skip until you set it back to 60hz. Would I have a problem using this monitor? Don't care about free sycn but I do want that 75hz refresh rate. Maybe I should just go with regular 60hz monitor VIEWSONIC VX2363SMHL or BENQ Zowie RK2455? PS: can't really afford 144hz monitor as the cheapest one (Acer KG240A) is about 300 bucks away in my country. Don't even know if it's good as there are no reviews.
  10. Flash sales, where the games are super cheap but lasted only 6 hours are no where to be found. Do they have no flash sales this year or we need to wait for a while. I hope to buy more smaller titles after I get the major one.
  11. Huh, I guess I'll stick with my pentium a little longer, thx.
  12. I wonder what if I get 4370 instead? Still dual core but performance seems closer to 4460 compare to 4170.
  13. Well, didn't plan to buy anything, looks like I'll have to sell my Pentium.
  14. Single core wise indeed Pentium is better, but it can't bring my gpu usage above 60% most of the time for some reasons. Poor multi-threaded performance or something? Can't really afford an i5, sad for me.
  15. I see, I've seen a video where i3 4130 perform slightly worse in than 4.7 ghz pentium, but I wonder if the higher clock speed of 4160/70 makes up for it.
  16. In my local currency, i3 4160/70 is 500 bucks, i5 4460 is 800 bucks. Close to MSRP but the currency is 4.2x smaller than USD, so yeah..
  17. It's actually Asrock H81 Mobo with Non-z overclock, I don't think it can OC 4690k. Sry, should have mentioned that.
  18. So I've upgraded from a 750 ti to a 960 3 days ago, I have huge improvement over some titles such as Tomb Raider, Metro last light or titles that utilize all of your gpu power. Thought I have one problem with some of the games, such as Battlefield 4 and Fallout 4, my cpu usage spike up to 100% constantly, which is normal for me, but the gpu usage is quite low, below 60% most of the time, 50% average, sometimes spike up to 80~90% in BF4. I suspect this might be cpu bottle-necking? My question is, would upgrade to an i3 4160 or 70 solved this problem, would it gain back the gpu usage in titles that love your cpu power? I played at 1366x768 btw. I know it's a shitty resolution but I want that high frame rate in demanding game. Edit: I can't really afford an i5, even the entry level one as it's almost twice as much, the value of my country's currency dropped make it even worse for me.
  19. It is good, and it hide cable so well, dayum.
  20. It's the H440, this is S340. Kinda confusing at first, I almost typed H440 when I made this post.
  21. Well, it's mentioned it can be scratched very easily by Linus and Dmitry. So not entirely the user's fault, you might scratch even when you are careful. Linus mentioned in this review.
