Ran memtest again, multiple times. Different dimms in different slots, etc. One faulty memory stick! Sucks, but at least I know what's up now. Thanks for the advice people. Ps: As a fairly new PC owner, these issues can be daunting to try and figure out, but I love the learning process through problem solving!

Okay, tried all the steps. Memory is fine, no disk errors, scannow revealed no problems. I'm at a loss. My brother who's been building PCs since the mid 90's also has no idea. Maybe it's my version of Windows (1709)? Auto update assistant and update fails to install the latest version of Windows. I'm out of ideas. Maybe Linux?

Yeah loads of random bsods. Couldn't even load windows after a while. Explained this in a previous post. Yeah I was fearful of a BIOS update, being new to PC building, but it seemed safe to do so and the right thing to do.

Well, I've had some issues recently all of which culminated in a BIOS update and a fresh Windows install. Now, can't get Windows to update to the latest version (I'm still on version 1709), either through the auto update or Windows Update Assistant. Also I'm constantly getting Pfn_list_corrupt bsod now. Had memory management come up, but seem to have fixed that. So what does it mean, and where should I be looking for issues?
-
The windows reinstall seems to have fixed it! Btw, is there a trusted all-in-one program that I can use to update all my drivers?

Not yet. A Windows reinstall would be my last resort. Probably a good idea to do so anyway.

Hey everyone, Been having some issues with my PC. Random blue screens. Some days nothing, other days one or two and then when I'm finally on Windows, no problems. Never crashes during gaming or cpu intensive tasks. All the hardware seems good. Nothing faulty. I've just updated my Bios, since the previous version was from 2016. We're now on 2018. Now, it's impossible to get to windows. Here's what I get: Kmode exception not handled Memory management Critical process died Irql not less or equal System thread exception not handled Registry error Pfn list corrupt Page fault in nonpaged area Seems to rotate between these errors. I don't know what to do. The Bios was successfully updated, then after the reboot the Bsod's started. Please help!

Memory management screen (Windows 10)

Yep, just read some other articles and realised RAM doesn't have drivers. Okay, well the Mobo picks up the RAM and I can see it in PC properties. Maybe go into the Bios and set the speed it's supposed to be running at. At the moment it's on 'auto'? It's capable of 3000mhz.- 4 replies

Hey everyone, PC noobie here. I finished building my first pc yesterday and everything seems to be working and registering fine. The only problem I have is encountering the Memory Management blue screen quite frequently. Is this a problem with the drivers perhaps? Do you need to update RAM drivers after initial start-up as well? I've done so for my GTX 1080. Btw, it is 16gb (2 × 8gb) of Corsair Vengeance DDR4 dimms. Mainou
