  1. I tried that and it fixed the problem temporarily. The moment the drivers started reinstalling the fans kicked up to 100% again and won't go down.
  2. I just got my new Zotac RTX 2070 Super Mini in the mail, and I was excited to toss it into my pc and get it set up, however, upon booting up the fans started whirling at max speed. I installed the drivers hoping that would fix it, but nothing changed. I checked iCue, Afterburner and HWInfo and they all reported that the fans were running at 0%. I reinstalled the drivers, reseated the card and all that and nothing fixed it. Kinda disappointed because I specifically went with Nvidia to avoid all the issues the AMD cards are having at the moment. Not a great first impression from team green, anyway. Are there any ways to fix this or do I have to RMA the card? Any help is appreciated, thanks! The last card in the system was an RX 580 Nitro+, if that matters at all. Every trace of the AMD drivers were removed before installing the 2070S.
  3. I already had the key, I bought it a while back for $10
  4. I need some help activating windows. I recently purchased a laptop and wiped the SSD so I could install a fresh copy of windows 10 pro, and well, I did just that and entered a brand new license key, which was accepted. Afterwards, I updated to the latest version of windows only to have the activation menu tell me that the license is now invalid, the key won't work anymore for some reason. It's also not giving me the option to activate through my microsoft account, which is the method I used to activate 10 Pro on my new ssd in my desktop very recently. I was told the digital license could be used on more than one pc, but the option just doesn't exist here, while the option to activate via account is present on my desktop. I can still activate windows with the key that came with the laptop, but that's for windows 10 home.
  5. Hey all, I'm thinking about getting the Lenovo Flex 14 with a Ryzen processor so I can do some light gaming, editing, etc. I'm stuck between choosing the Ryzen 5 3500u or the Ryzen 7 3700u option. Most websites are saying they perform about the same, with the Ryzen 5 being a bit faster in the graphics department, despite the iGPU having fewer CUs and running 300Mhz slower. Is the R7 worth the extra $150? Note: I plan on upgrading the laptop to have 16 gigs of ram and a 500gb ssd regardless of which option I end up purchasing. Is there any chance the R7 will benefit more from the upgrades or?
  6. I'm wanting to get a new ssd to replace my PNY sata ssd, since it's starting to show it's age and doesn't have enough space for my needs. Out of these three: WD Blue 500gb, WD Black SN750 500gb & the Samsung 970 Evo 500gb, which would you get? The price on the WD Blue is compelling, but I don't want something that'll crap out on me with my data on it.
  7. I formatted and tried reinstalling on that pc, and it still wouldn't let me install windows. However, I found out the issue right after I made this post. It's basically as RobbinM said. A GPT format doesn't work with older systems, so I had to use DiskPart to change it to MBR. Worked just fine after that. Thanks for the help though!
  8. I installed it on my system. Why is that an issue?
  9. So I purchased a Dell OptiPlex 790, with an i5 2400 & 4gigs of ram. My plan was to upgrade it and give it to a friend. A week before the purchase, I ordered a Crucial BX500 120gb ssd, installed windows etc, worked just fine in their laptop and in my desktop, however, it won't work in this Dell. I can't figure out why, as the only thing it says is that the boot failed or it can't find a boot device. I was able to get it to boot from an old hdd, but it was slow as hell, so I don't want to give that to them. Any way to fix this? Bios revision is A17 I think.
  10. Thanks! Any explanation as to why this worked?
  11. The audio ports on my computer are no longer working. I'm not sure what happened, but they randomly stopped recognizing any devices I plug in. Troubleshooting does nothing, nor does uninstalling & reinstalling the audio drivers, or disabling & reenabling the audio device on my motherboard. The only thing under my sound drivers list is the AMD high definition audio device, even after I install the realtek drivers from MSI's website. Motherboard: MSI B360 Mortar
  12. Nothing is showing up there either
