    SSDs!

I actually installed my operating system on my hard drive. Will I have to reinstall windows on my ssd now and re-download everything?

    SSDs!

^^, so I have a 250gb samsung ssd, which I got for $100. How can I fully utilize the size of the ssd, as it's 250gb.

    SSDs!

My average download speed is 80 - 90 mpbs, whilst my upload speed is around 30 - 40. I have a Samsung 860 EVO 250GB SSD. Can I install games on my ssd to improve their boot time, whilst still using the ssd for boot times and just keep my 2tb hard drive for storing photos, movies etc? Will this effect any boot times or anything?

    SSDs!

If you use an ssd for booting your pc, can they still be utilized for downloading games so the games can launch faster too? If so, I presume that this will also slow the boot time? Leave your two cents down below.
  5. Your power supply won't power your system, I'd suggest a power supply over 850 watts. You might want to invest in a 1000 watt supply for future proofing.
  6. There's actually no g-sync monitors in australia under $450 aud.
  7. https://www.viewsonic.com/us/xg2530.html (240hz 1ms TN) https://www.samsung.com/us/computing/monitors/gaming/24--cfg73-gaming-monitor-with-quantum-dot-lc24fg73fqnxza/ (144hz 1ms VA) I have an i7-8700 & a GTX 1060 6GB. I've heard many people saying there's no need for a curved monitor in a 24" panel, so will the curve be a downside or technically a good thing, or will I barely tell the differencE? Uses: Gaming Youtube Some movies Mild video editting My budget is $400 AUD, and these monitors come in at the exact same price with shipping I know I'm not going to actually hit 240hz, but the monitor is exactly $399, with usb ports so it's a nice thing to have. Leave your two cents in the comments, as I'm not actually sure on which to get.
  8. I'm not very logical when it comes to windows as I just switched from mac to pc. Every time I go into my bios and set my boot priority to my 250gb ssd, it takes me through the whole installation proces again.
  9. Hello, When I built my pc I made the mistake of downloading windows on my 2tb hard drive instead of my ssd, I didn't know that it mattered since I thought I could've set my ssd to the primary boot option in bios, but apparently you need to download windows on your ssd too. To utilize my ssd, I now have to unfortunately partition both my ssd and hdd to their original size, and wipe them. And then go through the windows re-installation process again, but this time download windows on my ssd. I bought my windows 10 home oem key here: https://www.kinguin.net/category/22175/windows-10-home-oem-key/?nosalesbooster=1&country_store=1&currency=AUD&r=26068&id=22175&gclid=Cj0KCQjw5s3cBRCAARIsAB8ZjU1n4tGZFU8TzGTlWh9fy6n2eSl8OH2UPjEWQh-yctkmYgX76YaDLMkaAn81EALw_wcB I'm just wondering, since I'm re-installing windows, will my product key work again? Or will I have to buy windows 10 again. I'll be using it on the exact same pc / motherboard. If it does work, is it still restricted to my monitor or I can use this product key on any monitor connected to my pc? Because I'm also in deep consideration of getting a new monitor before reinstalling windows, so therefore I won't need to do the whole process again..
  10. Hello, I'm looking to replace my current monitor and am looking for a good monitor under $450 AUD (Australian Dollars) Requirements: 144hz 23.6" - 25" Height Adjustment (Optional, but preferred) USB 3.0 (Optional, but preferred) Please give me suggestions on some good monitors that suit this. I'm going to be watching A LOT of YouTube, and playing MANY games. I will not be watching many movies on my monitor. I'm also going to be looking at the monitor front on, so I won't really optimize any viewing angles
  11. Every wired headphone using the surround sound 7.1 uses a usb cable but I'm not very keen of the steelseries as it's slightly higher than my budget.

I chose these two because they also come with a 3.5 millimeter jack so I can use it on my apple devices. I also much prefer if headphones are very in-closed, so the person next to you can't hear your music. I've red mixed reviews and haven't really gotten a solid decision, so that's why I'm making the thread and I also prefer noise cancelling, so I wear them and most of the background noise isn't audible with the headphones on. A mute button and volume control is preferable with the headphones. I'm not worried about it's console performance. I will use one of these headphones for gaming, music, movies and just general use.

    Will this work?

In #3 I meant if I got the normal Kraken with a 3.5mm jack. Why wouldn't it work on the monitor? It has usb ports and there's a usb upstream cable connected from my monitor to my pc.

    Will this work?

I have a separate monitor since I built my computer, it's separate. Kudos to you too!

    Will this work?

I'm negotiating on which one of the two gaming headsets I should purchase, but first I'd like to cover some things. Razer Kraken Pro V2 (No Surround Sound 7.1) $150 - https://www2.razer.com/au-en/store/razer-kraken-pro-v2 Razer Kraken Surround Sound 7.1 $170 - https://www2.razer.com/au-en/store/razer-kraken-71-v2 #1: 7.1 Surround Sound Headsets use a USB Port so I'd have to have to connect it via. usb ports on my pc. Is it also possible to connect the usb port on the headphones straight to my monitor? Just out of curiosity. #2: If I decide to purchase the 7.1 Razer Kraken, will the headphones work on my iPad or Phone by getting this: https://www.gearbest.com/iphone-cables-adapters/pp_1566888.html?wid=1433363&currency=AUD&vip=15246165&gclid=Cj0KCQjwlK7cBRCnARIsAJiE3MhPEhu20TNda58lef9sS-xpngYn6RdtXWPxg5ISxCazwT-m7F1joOUaAvzjEALw_wcB If so, will there be a significant loss in audio quality #3: My monitor comes with an audio in and out 3.5mm jack and I feel if I'm not using the jacks, it's pretty much wasted. But if I don't get the 7.1 headphones, which hole should I plug the headphone wire into? Since the headphones come with a microphone.. #4: I've already used all the usb ports on my monitor and I'd like to preferably put the cable in my monitor, so instead of buying a usb gen, can I just do this? And put the usb into this: https://www.gearbest.com/chargers-cables/pp_656846.html?wid=1433363&currency=AUD&vip=15181142&gclid=Cj0KCQjwlK7cBRCnARIsAJiE3Mh_bMP1JlQKnXjbARvaKvR0nA1dN8Rhw1On4uJfdoBZv39oEX7m5fcaAkJMEALw_wcB Regards, Supahh.

    How Do I Do This?

Yes pink is mic in, green is audio out. Not sure what you mean by the last sentence, but I've connected the 3.5mm cable to the green jack on the io shield.

    How Do I Do This?

Is it possible if I buy a separate microphone as an input device and use my speakers as an output device? What I mean by this is, when I speak into the microphone, will the people I'm in a call with hear themselves and my pc since the speakers are output. Is there a way so people I'm in a call with only hear me and not the output sound of my speakers? That's the best way I could describe it. And which 3.5mm jack should I plug in my microphone or speakers in? My monitor, front of pc case or on the port at the IO Shield?? Because my speakers also have 2 3.5mm jacks at the front of it.

    How Do I Do This?

I recently switched from MAC to PC and built myself a computer. But on a mac, it has inbuilt speakers with an inbuilt microphone. I got the Logitech Z200 Speakers for my pc, and they're amazing. BUT, I can't actually talk into them, at-least I think so? Basically, I can only here output sound and can't actually talk into it so my friends in say a voice call won't hear me. Is it possible to some how "Enable" it so I can have input sound and use the speaker's microphone if it has any? So it has the functionality sort of like a mac. My monitor has an audio in and audio out 3.5mm port. So does my pc and pc case. If the speakers are only designed for output, what will be my best solution? Should I buy a separate microphone or headphones IF I can't actually talk into it. This is new turf for me, please help.
  19. I recently built a pc, with the pc I bought a GTX 1060 6GB. At the time, I didn't know there were new gpus coming very soon, some are expected to even arrive in the next 1-2 months. The 1180 / 1170 / 1160 will be released soon and many people are speculating that the 1160 would perform close to the 1080. If this is the case, I might get a refund for my 1060 and replace it with a new 1160. What would be the "estimated" price for a gpu like the 1160 based on previous nvidea experiences. And is it worth replacing, or should I keep it the same?
  20. 100%, there's no point of getting a 1080 without utilizing 144hz fps. But with this, I'd suggest a G-Sync monitor to go with it, an excellent choice as of now is the Acer Predator XB241H. The XB241H has a 24" TN display, 144hz, G-Sync and can even be overclocked to 180 HZ. This is all for $350 USD, https://www.amazon.com/Acer-Predator-XB241H-bmipr-1920x1080/dp/B01C05C1OK
  21. Hey, so I recently stumbled across these 2 monitors, and am possibly purchasing one of the two. They both are 24", 144hz and G-Sync. Which one is "better"? 1 - https://www.pccasegear.com/products/36955/acer-predator-xb241h-fhd-144hz-g-sync-24in-tn-gaming-monitor 2 - https://www.shoppingexpress.com.au/buy/aoc-g2460pg-g-sync-24-fhd-144hz-gaming-monitor/G2460PG They're also only $20 apart so I don't really mind the price difference. The second monitor has two USB ports, but I could always get a $3 usb extender for my keyboard & mouse wire to be able to reach and connect to my pc itself.
  22. Everytime I turn on my pc and monitor, this pops up for 5 seconds then takes me to my login page like nothing happened. When I also turn off my monitor, this pops up. I have installed all drivers, my display port is connected and is working with 144hz. I have also tried hdmi, same outcome. this is slowing my startup and shut down, Any help? I have a HP Omen 25 Monitor
  23. There's lots of GPU mining going on so the 1070 would be $250 AUD more than the 1060 6gb. Not only this, but the 1060 is perfect for my typical games & I'm pretty happy with it.
  24. I'm looking for a gaming monitor. 24" 144hz Curved G-Sync - https://www.mwave.com.au/product/acer-predator-xb241h-24-144hz-gsync-gaming-monitor-ab88339 27" 144hz Curved - https://www.mwave.com.au/product/msi-optix-mag27c-27-fhd-144hz-freesync-curved-gaming-monitor-ac11929 These two monitors fit my budget and would suit me long term, they also have a $20 differentiation which is not bad at all. The curved 24" monitor has 144hz, G-Sync and it can be overclocked to 180hz but to enable the 180hz the screen resolution will be slightly downgraded. The 27" monitor has 144hz, is also curved, but has freesync -- I have a GTX 1060 6GB though. I am quite indecisive regarding these two monitors so what's your opinion? Basically, 27" vs 24" w/ G-Sync
