Hey peeps,
I recently had some issues with booting my computer so I installed a new motherboard and PSU.
Before doing this my computer wouldn’t boot properly. I had to hold down the power button for like 30 seconds for it to boot. Suddenly my graphics card didn’t work either. After a while it wouldn’t boot at all.
The MB and PSU are now replaced. I figured I’d give my GPU a try, even though it didn’t work with my old setup, in case the PCI-E socket was damaged on my old MB (I don’t have any other sockets on it which I could use for testing).
The GFX was recognized and I managed to install drivers, something I wasn’t able to do on my old system after the GPU stopped working. I was surprised to see it working and moved it to another PCI-E slot (one working better with just 1 GFX installed). After having moved the GFX to the other socket I had to download GeForce Experience anew for some weird reason, but once that was installed it recognized my driver which I had installed after putting in the other PCI-E slot.
I thought everything was fine, but then I couldn’t boot my computer, history repeating itself. The GPU is trashed now but I wonder if it has managed to take along with it my 2 PCI-E sockets on my new motherboard. When the GPU was connected to my old MB it suddenly wasn’t recognized by my computer (ie. dead PCI-E since it was recognizable on my new MB)?
Thanks in advance
