  1. I'll tell him to look into buying a new cooler, I didn't even know he was using a stock one until now and I'm kinda face-palming at that. Also, sorry it's taking so long to reply, the guy on discord isn't being very responsive rn
  2. He disabled boost clock since he's using the stock cooler and it throttles if it goes higher than 3.3 Ghz
  3. 3.3 Ghz He's about to try overclocking it Cooler Master 750W 80+ gold
  4. after the underclock it's around %70-%80 and is running significantly better, but not as good as it should be No, it's not throttling at all
  5. He doesn't want to disassemble it since it's still under warranty
  6. No, hasn't tried overclocking it, but right now he's trying to underclock it to see if that helps and if not he'll try to overclock it a bit like you suggested He has a 660 previously and the 1060 is performing worse than it
  7. He does, and he has the latest drivers Yeah, that's why I ruled it out, and it was also brand new so it's pretty much impossible for that to be it
  8. This didn't happen to me, but I was looking through messages in a Discord server and somebody said their friend's brand new GTX 1060, that they bought in person from a store, is performing similarly to a GTX 650. I asked him if maybe it was an older card with a GTX 1060s BIOS to make it appear as one in windows, but no, it's a legit 1060, but it's performing horribly. Any help would be great and I'll dm him with any questions you guys have since I know it'll most likely take a lot more information to figure this out.
  9. Same here, I was thinking about waiting for the new gen GPUs but wanted to have an actual working PC for my birthday so I just went with current gen, and yeah your build is super powerful!
  10. Oh damn mate, that's gonna be one awesome PC!
  11. For my needs, it's OP as hell probably the most demanding game I'll be playing on it is Kingdom: New Lands. And thank you! Hope your upcoming build goes well!
  12. I chose most of them but had a ton of help and suggestions through the PC Part Picker discord server and from other on this site. And thank you!!
  13. Forgot to add that into the spec sheet, it's the Thermaltake P1, I'm still waiting for it to arrive
  14. Also, please forgive my awful pictures, my phone doesn't have the best camera
  15. Hello all. This is a super OP 1440p gaming build which is my 16th birthday present from both of my parents. I've been wanting to game on PC since I was about 8 years old, but I've been stuck with consoles so far, which I can barely play because they make me physically sick. But now, I finally get to play on the platform I want, and I also get to build my own PC!!! The specs of this stupidly overkill PC are: Ryzen 5 2600 Cooler Master masterliquid ML240R Trident Z RGB 16gb 3000 mhz, CAS latency 16 Asus ROG Strix X470-I Gaming mini itx EVGA 1070ti FTW2 1Tb Samsung 860 Evo Corsair CXM 650W semi modular 80+ bronze (fan is pretty annoying but hopefully won't be too noticeable when it's fully built) (I flipped the cooler around in the last pic to fit the second stick of ram in, and that tv that I hooked it up to isn't going to be my monitor, I'm getting a 1440p Dell monitor to go with the build)
  16. Thanks for all the advice and help mate! I'm going to be building my PC in about 2 weeks so I want to pick the monitor up as soon as I can but I'll look out for cheaper prices. And that color banding thing most likely won't bother me much either as I'll just be gaming and won't be doing any content creation at all so it's perfectly fine.
  17. EDIT: I found the S2716DG at the microcenter near me for $450 and I'm going out there this weekend anyways so I'll definitely pick it up! The S2716DG is about $600 USD at the cheapest here, which is way out of my price range, but the S2417DG is $430 on Amazon which is right within my budget, so I'll definitely think about it. Thanks!
  18. Thanks! I completely forgot PCPP had a monitor section, it helped a lot and I finally found a monitor with all the specs I want that's within my budget.
  19. I'm looking for a 1440p G-sync monitor preferably running at at least 75 Hz, but 60 Hz is fine. My budget is $400-$450. Thanks for any help you give me!
  20. Nobody advised me of it, It was just on Microcenter's site and it's on sale; I can't spend a lot on a PSU. And idk what the hell an HEC double forward platform is
  21. I'm going to return the Power Spec PSU and get this instead: http://www.microcenter.com/product/482228/MasterWatt_650_Watt_80_Plus_Bronze_ATX_Modular_Power_Supply
  22. Well I joined this forum a day after I bought the parts and I didn't have anybody to ask about the power supply before that, and I didn't really have one in mind when I went to Micro Center and I saw the Power Spec and it looked like a good deal so I just got it. And yes I know I should've found somebody to ask before hand I wasn't very smart about that.
