  1. I'm already setting aside money for my Pixel 3 XL. As soon as its available I'll be buying. I'll have this current phone paid off by then and I'll have enough to buy the Pixel 3 XL outright. So excited!
  2. Just doing my public service and shares this for you folks.
  3. Thanks for the info, brother! I guess I'll download a copy of Chromium and see if I can fiddle fart with it and get what I want.
  4. Support for Android apps. Also ChromiumOS has some issues with several multimedia or DRM features on several sites.
  5. That sir, is an answer! I completely agree, the reason I'm after something android is because, it's google and it would just fit with my currently setup/workflow better. I agree that Apple is currently making the best tablets. IMO Samsung is the best android tablet, but I have a 7 year long feud with Samsung at this point. I guess I'll just make my own (lol)
  6. Meme appreciated, good sir. No. If I could get my hands on an ISO I would run it in a different partition on my Ubuntu USB 3.1 external SSD.
  7. I am an ultra power user of devices. I dare say I may have the level of use that even our lord and savior Mr. Linus Sebastian does. I want a flipping android tablet so I can prop it up on my Logitech K780 and text, snapchat, telegram, and just add a small touch screen to my 3 monitor + laptop workflow setup. I want something that doesn't suck. I've been at a loss recently. I want something with hardware that AT LEAST matches the power of the stuff in my year and a half old Moto Z Force (Snapdragon 820, Adreno 530, 4GB RAM). I'm just wondering...is this too much to ask? The only "high end" tablet I can find is a Samsung Tab S3, but It's 3/4 of the price I would expect to pay. I WANT to pay the high end price, so I can have a high end device. Thanks for reading my rant, any suggestions are appreciated.
  8. I know about ChromiumOS. Unfortunately, it has a grand total of 0 of the features that I want that are in REAL ChromeOS. I do wonder why ChromiumOS is the "open source" I was under the impression that ChromeOS itself is supposed to be open sourced. Guess I will continue to pray to Sundar Pichai to sell copies of ChromeOS.
  9. Howdy folks, I really want to play with ChromeOS, but I really do not want to purchase a chromebook, box, or bit (ok I kind of want the chromebit but that's not the point). I would like to be able to boot it from an extra hard drive in my computer or on an external drive on my laptop. I just can't seem to find anyway to get a copy of it. I know about the Cloudready version, but what I want is a full (real) version of ChromeOS that I can keep updated and do all the fancy android app functions it will have. Does anyone really have any ideas how I could do this? I don't really want to spend a ton of money, hence why I don't want to buy a chrome device. Also I am a computer science student, so I'm definitely not afraid to do some high level stuff. I'm totally prepared to get my hands dirty. Thanks guys! P.S. first every post, hope I followed all the rules
