  1. I'll buy similar one, not the same.
  2. I'll buy another cheapish one and see if it fixes my problem. If not, its probably a faulty TV and I'll have to return it.
  3. Shall I buy the £37 Belkin one then?
  4. Have you got this item at all?
  5. Okay I will buy another 'cheap' 4k cable to see if it solves my HDR banding issues.
  6. I have a Philips 4K HDR TV and i am experiencing banding in dark areas on the screen when HDR signal is on, originally i thought it was windows 10 but i have now tried the same HDMI cable on my PS4 with HDR on and the banding is still there. I'm starting to think it might be a faulty HDMI cable rather than the TV as it's new and only happens when a HDR signal is detected... I currently have - https://www.amazon.co.uk/HDMI-PRO-GOLD-Ethernet-Return-Red/dp/B002U38E9O/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1528967044&sr=8-3&keywords=hdmi+4k+cable and now i am thinking about buying - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Belkin-AV10175bt2M-BLK-Premium-Optimal-Viewing/dp/B075N83B9X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1528967059&sr=8-1&keywords=hdmi+4k+cable+belkin but i don't want to be sucked into buying a more expensive HDMI cable if it's not going to be any better than another cheaper 4K cable...? A side question here then would also be is it the HDMI cable or a faulty TV? The picture is crisp clear when watching 4K Movies off a USB plugged into the TV but it never pops up saying that a HDR Signal is detected when using a USB so i don't think it's using HDR when watching off the USB Input.
  7. I should also add that it does it on youtube and default windows desktop background pictures... doesnt that rule out compression?
  8. The images above are from downloaded blu ray movies and the bottom one is a 4k test video. How do I try a blu ray disk on my PC? When I insert one my PC does not detect it...?
  9. I have a 4K HDR Philips TV but when i enable the HDR setting in Windows 10 all black/dark colours are pixelated. My PC has an NVIDIA GTX970 and i am using a brand new 4K@60Hz HDMI cable. Is this a windows, tv, nvidia or hdmi cable issue? When i disable HDR in windows the black colours are fine... Pictures of examples are here -
  10. I replaced the HDD with an SSD and HDD over the weekend and my PC is up and running faster than before now, cheers for your help!
  11. We do indeed I am going to use a HDD that someone is giving me on the weekend, once windows is up and running on that and everything works fine I am going to buy an SSD and install windows on that instead. Thanks so much for your help and input and i will let you know how it goes on the weekend
  12. So i'm typing this from my PC which is running Linux Ubuntu through a USB and it's working fine. Firefox crashed a couple of times but it's only when I load Youtube home page?? I was able to load this website and reddit fine and whole system is running fine. Linux is listing a device called 1000GB volume which i presume is my HDD as it's a 1TB HDD. When i try to open it on Linux the following error comes up (see image)... Think this pretty much confirms by issue! (unless that listed device is some dummy drive?)
  13. I unplugged and replugged a few things and reseated the ram but no luck. Before I change the hard drive on the weekend I am going to run Linux off a USB and see if that works fine. It it does then surely it's a hard drive issue?
  14. Will do! One last thing question, I am going to check all wire connections and reseat RAM etc later on inside the PC. Should I completely unplug PC from wall or just turn off the PSU switch but leave PC plugged in?
