  1. What variant of the 2080ti do you have and what display outputs does it have? Does the 4th monitor disapear from windows display settings and nvidia display settings? I have seen something like this happen before on a laptop I used at work, It was a dell with a dock. The dvi output was an extension of the displayport output, so you could only use one or another. If your card has more than 4 connectors, its likely that something like this is going on, so you might try running the displays using different connection types hdmi, dp, etc. I just upgraded to a 4090, but had a very similar setup to yours prior. 9900kf, asus strix 2080ti, odyssey g9 and two 1440p 144hz monitors. The issue I would run into was my valve index wouldnt work unless I disabled one of the monitors, I dont recall it mattering if I was in 120hz vs 240hz. although tbh I almost never run it in 120hz mode. Because my setup is essentially 5 monitors, I ended up putting an old quadro m5000 that has 4 display ports in my pc just to run the two peripheral monitors off of. I also have a 120hz 4k tv connected now and I run the g9 index and the tv off the 4090, which is so much more convenient than plugging cables in and out. the tower 900 case is not exactly condusive to display output access.
  2. Fixed it. I have a pcie usb 3 card since the motherboard only had a few usb ports. I had mounted it behind the gpu and it was rubbing against the cpu heatsink, which was coated black(nhd15 chromax the ltt one too haha). Apparently the coating on the pcb and the heatsink finally wore through, likely from the vibration of the fans. It shorted when the heatsink bridged the pad of the 5v rail (of the sata connector powering the card) to the ground plane of the card where the coating rubbed through. I took the card out, and ordered some pcie slot cover mounted usb ports that will just plug into the spare headers on the motherboard. Played a few games and everything seems fine.
  3. Oh and one other thing, may be irrelevant. I used to have an asus strix 2080ti in this pc, and I had an issue that was being caused by the armoury crate, where I would have to launch certain programs 3 times before they would start working. I recently reinstalled the lastest version to control my rgb in my case, so I wouldn't be surprised if it was the culprit of this issue.
  4. I have an odyssey g9, then two 27in monitors on top for youtube videos, discord etc. The issue is I also have a valve index, which apparently acts like two displays, and I have to disable one of the extra monitors every time I play vr. Only solution I found is to add in a second low power gpu, and I havent been able to find an easy way to have one of the second monitors turn off automatically when steam vr is launched. The M5000 draws hardly anything, because its only being used to run the two extra displays which never have games displayed on them, and the pny 4090 is power limited to 450w, so not really an issue. Also sort of irrelevant since the issue is still occuring without the second gpu. Yes I'm aware the 9900k is old lol, CPU, MOBO and ram are next on the list for upgrading this, but im waiting a bit for either a 13900ks or 7950x3d.
  5. I did go into the bios, and set everything back to default, no change. Runs normally once in windows I pulled the quadro card for now, no change.
  6. Last night I was playing a game of COD DMZ, we extracted, then the match ended, and my pc just instantly shut down. I tried turning it on, and it posted, then the asus rog logo showed on the screen, with the spinning dots like it normally does, but just kept spinning. after a few minutes i reset the pc, then was prompted to troubleshoot. I was able to get into windows by choosing the startup repair option. Specs of my Pc listed below. The last change i had made to my hardware was I added in a second graphics card(quadro m5000) to run my secondary monitors, since the main gpu(pny 4090) can only output 4, and my valve index acts like 2 monitors. Anyways I noticed the color calibration was off on my main screen, and the secondary screen was off. I right clicked on the desktop to open the nvidia graphic settings, which I then clicked. a windows notification popped up saying something like cannot open. then the option disappeared. I opened device manager, and noticed the m5000 was showing as a generic vga adapter. At this point I was convinced the card was the problem. Last year I had bought an old desktop from work, that had two of these quadro cards in it. Earlier this year I smelled something coming from that desktop, and it was the other m5000 card. a component on the back had burnt out. So I powered down my pc and pulled this m5000 out and inspected it, it looked fine, smelled fine. I rebooted and same thing, stuck on spinning dots. I tried a few other things, and eventually just waiting 20 minutes it loaded into windows. I have backed up my files onto another disk at this point, and im honestly due for a fresh install, probably even windows 11. Any ideas before I wipe, and do a fresh install? Cpu: Intel 9900kf Mobo: Asus Z370 strix e(When the pc "crashed" I was on the 5ghz settings and xmp profile, Afterwards I defaulted the settings, no change in behavior) Memory: 4x8gb trident RGB 3600 ddr3 GPU1: PNY 4090 XLR8 GPU2: Quadro M5000 Windows SSD: Intel 760p 512gb Secondary drive: 4tb Seagate Barracuda with 32gb Intel Optane Tertiary Drive: 6TB Seagate Skyhawk Power supply: EVGA Supernova 850 G1+ Windows version: Windows 10 Home 22H2 OS Build 19045.2364
  7. So I have another 3007wfp, and i ordered two different generic hdmi to display port adapter off of amazon, and neither worked correctly. so there must be something special about the one i originally used.
  8. Any help on this? Ive searched and searched and found nothing. its pretty irritating when the computer boots in 2 seconds then i have to sit and wait 2-5 minutes for the graphics driver to initialize.
  9. Another wierd thing that happened today, it loaded into windows with the graphics driver, displaying on all 3 monitors, then when playing a game it randomly lagged hard.
  10. I just recently put together a new system, the issue is when I restart my computer, or power it on. The windows display driver loads before the nvidia one, then about 2 minutes later the nvidia one loads. My specs are Asus Z370 E Gaming Strix motherboard Asus GTX 1080 Strix Intel 8700k Windows 10 Home 64 Intel 700p 512gb hdd 32gb Gskill rgb ram 3000mhz Latest nvidia driver Running 3 monitors On a side note sometimes the Aura Sync parts don't always show up the program, which is weird. Any thoughts on that? Thanks!
  11. So now a bigger challenge. My laptop has a 40 pin ttl connector for the internal screen. how do i get that to output dvi?
  12. I think usually this sort of thing would not work, but because its raw video signal being actively converted it did!
