  1. Are there any cheap options, or are they all above $100? Alternatively I could go for a good dac, and get the status cb-1 headphones which I've seen you recommend on other threads.
  2. A bit late, but do I need a DAC/AMP for these headphones?
  3. I was thinking $200 CAD would be enough.
  4. In the market for a new pair of headphones. I use Rebel BTs for on the go purposes, and cheap on-ear headphones at home. These aren't comfortable and hurt my ears. I would use them for playing games, listening to music and possibly music production in the future. I play games like DoTA 2, CS;GO and RoTMG. I would use them on my laptop, it's a Asus ROG GL553VD. I don't think I'd use them on my phone, unless I go wireless, because the pixel 2 xl doesn't have an audio jack. I see Audio Technica M-50x headphones being recommended on the daily so I'm wondering whether or not I should get those ones. I've also had an eye out for the Steelseries Arctic line. The white variants look very nice. White is the colour of choice. Canadian dollars.
  5. ahh well that's unfortunate. 144hz monitors in Canada are so expensive :(.
  6. https://www.ebay.ca/itm/Crossover-32FX144-CRONUS-1800R-144Hz-FHD-32-Curved-Gaming-Monitor/113051587036?hash=item1a526651dc:g:WnIAAOSw7UJbHOY6 I was looking at monitors on ebay when I stumbled upon this, too good to be true?
  7. I just got a laptop from a family member and I wanted to restore it to actually use it. I want to completely reboot it and get windows 10 on it, I've heard I can do this with an 8gb usb stick?
  8. Did you buy a used laptop or was it new from a retailer? I'd really love the link to buying that laptop (CAD)
  9. I see a lot of people who have a gaming rig and then they have a MacBook on the side. I don't get it, what's special about macbooks? They have zero upgradability, lower end specs and they cost loads more than windows laptops..
  10. When I look at gaming setups online, they all have these insane desks that look amazing. I've been looking for one as I want a sweet setup with the new computer I'm gonna build, but I'm unable to find a good looking desk that's not over 200-250 Canadian dollars. I was looking at the Alex desk from Ikea, but still not convinced on it. Hoping you guys could recommend me a desk. If you want any information on what I'm gonna do with the desk... I'm a 16 year old who likes to play games and I have no idea what I want to do with my life, hope that helps. I was thinking of a white-themed build with light blue RGB/LED since my room is already white (and grey).
  11. I have an old gaming desktop that was purchased from a neighbour maybe 2 years ago and I was wondering if it was worth upgrading or if I should just sell it and start a new build. Intel core 2 duo e8400 gtx 650ti 650w psu asus pq5 pro motherboard 500gb HDD (I have other hard drives lying around from laptops and old desktops.) big antec case 4gb ddr2 ram windows vista (which I hate) https://imgur.com/2mm7i8q https://imgur.com/1ib91Ly
  12. How much more would a 1070 cost me? and if I go with a 1070 I guess I have to upgrade the cpu and psu aswell?
  13. Wow thank you.. would you recommend I pour a bit more money into the ram? I usually like to have lots of things open at once
  14. Honestly, money isn't an issue, I make $300 a week and I have no bills to pay. I can put more money into it if needed. Also, would waiting for the new 11 series graphics cards be worth it?
  15. I have a dilemma here and I was hoping one of you could help me out. I currently have a 'gaming' laptop that I purchased second hand from Kijiji for $800 (CAD) https://www.amazon.ca/Asus-GL503VD-Gaming-FireCuda-Keyboard/dp/B0753MSN75 The problem is that this laptop no longer satisfies my needs. The 1050 just can't deliver enough performance in modern-ish titles. I've been thinking of building a desktop, but then with the crazy gpu and ram prices is it even worth it? Would I really be able to build a desktop that highly outperforms this one for, say, $1200? I have a razer mouse and a mechanical keyboard from an older pre-built, but the cost of a decent monitor also has to be factored in here.. Is sacrificing portability worth the slightly better temperatures and performance?
