  1. Hi all, I have been having a long term issue with my GTX 1080, when playing games in flat screen mode at 1440p I get 100 FPS on average, however when playing in VR most of the time my GPU memory usage goes between 80 and 100% usage, with GPU utilisation normally at 100% if not slightly below, during this time the FPS in the headset jumps around 30-50 FPS. making any games unplayable. My CPU never goes above 80% on a single core and memory usage remains low. This issue has persisted across many different driver versions dating back over a year. I have tried reinstalling windows multiple times and have also tried turning off all but the lowest resolution monitor to no avail. I have also tried lowering the resolution of the headset which does help slightly but not enough to make it playable. Through contacting Nvidia for advice I was put through the standard troubleshooting methodology to be told that the ryzen 5 2600x isn't a high end CPU it is low to mid tier so that is where the issue is coming from, even though the utlisation never approached 100% on even a single core. I have tried a family members GTX 1080ti and had no issues with FPS issues or memory usage being high even with 2 1080p monitors and 1 1440p monitor. Thermals on the GPU are toasty but not too high at around 70°C Any advice on this would help massivly as I do not want to have to fork out £600+ on a new GPU to have playable framerates in VR.
  2. Thank you, I will certainly add this to my list of possibilities. It all depends on how much they add onto it to buy it in the UK though. An example would be the logitech MK550, in the US you can get it for about $70 (£55 ish) wheras in the UK the cheapest in stock price i have found so far is about £90-£100... Hopefully can find one for the right price.
  3. Thank you for this, it does look quite nice, will have to look into it for what price it is in the UK.
  4. Thank you for the reply, I will see if I can get this within our budget per user, I guess my issue that I had in the past was due to me only wanting to spend £10 on a full set Im unsure on this, from my knowlege of EE it isn't like this, thank you though. We do have the small issue of 6 of us will have our desks back to back. The joy of a small business
  5. Hi all, I have been tasked with designing the layout of my workplaces new office building, one requirement that my manager has given me is that each user needs to have a wireless keyboard and mouse, this does raise the concern of cross communication between each set. Can anyone advise on a suitable choice for this situation, we have 8 users who are always within 10m of each other. None of our PCs have Bluetooth so they need to be a USB dongle (Also thanks to our IT provider other than me we have no admin rights on any PC [They got bored of me phoning constantly] so we can't install a USB bluetooth dongle). Each set can not be too expensive either (Preferably less than £60 [$79] per set), we have a very small budget to fit out the full office. Thanks, Dan
  6. I noticed a little while ago that holding on the recent apps button didn't open split screen forcing me to have to stop the app that I am running to go into recent apps, tap the icon for it to open in split screen view. Anyone got any ideas for how to fix this or is it just a permenant thing now?
  7. Hi all, I purchased the AOC G2460PF just over a year ago, and recently it has randomly just not working I.E. It just will not accept any input and my computer automatically switches to my other two monitors on display port adaptors. I have tried the AOC monitor on Display port and HDMI and it is still the same. Each time it does this it forgets all my display settings that I spend about an hour getting right. After doing research online the best answer others could come up with is return it (not an option as it is over a year old) or buy a new monitor... Helpful..... Can anyone help with this?
  8. Hi all, I have been trying to sort out my audio set ups recently and have noticed with my PC the audio seems to be getting worse over time. I am using the Sennheiser HD4.40BTs with the audio wire for on my PC and in both the front and rear ports for my motherboard the audio sounds very flat with very little base, trying to tune the audio through MSI's new Nahimic 2 Software through the Microsoft store just makes the audio sound flatter and muffled. So I decided to plug in the AKG headphones I got with my Samsung Galaxy Note 9 which sound amazing for me through my phone, they still sound flat even with tuning on the PC. I also have tried to use the Sennheiser headphones on bluetooth mode and it just sounds worse (as i expected). Can anyone advise on what sort of solution I can do in this situation? Please forgive bad terminology or anything like that I am not an expert in audio or anything I just want to listen to music with a nice strong bass and good mids and highs.
  9. Hi all, I have recently posted on here about having very bad microphone quality from the ModMic 4.0, I decided to just leave it and let my friends suffer with the terrible sound. However recently i have noticed that my motherboards on board sound is just not enough for me or my preferences, especially since I can no longer get the raw Nahemic 2.0 software and adjust levels properly. So I looked into getting either an external or internal sound card and after contacting creative labs they came to the conclusion that none of their sound cards can drive the ModMic 4.0 at the correct voltages. Can anyone give any suggestions on what would be a good high quality alternative? Please note that i am already using a USB sound card for the ModMic and I still have to put it to +30db gain and 100% volume to get my voice to be audible at all on the line, I also have to apply an additional gain in each app that I use E.G Teamspeak, Discord, ect.
  10. I am using the same headphones and they just wouldn't work right through bluetooth either the audio quality deteriorates or the mic stops working, what I would suggest is using the headphones as such with an external mic, either a desktop one or the modmic if you can get it working right (I have to use a USB soundcard for my modmic.) In answer to your question, the wire does not carry the mic signal.
  11. @AAJoe Sorry for the delayed response i have been having a couple of other issues to deal with, i have joined the discord now if you can tell me which chat to talk in to try to get support please?
  12. Hi @AAJoe, Thanks for the reply, I am based out of the US (in the UK) so i can't really get your own adaptor, I am currently using this USB adaptor (https://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/computing-accessories/components-and-upgrades/sound-cards/dynamode-usb-sound7-7-1-channel-usb-sound-card-17771622-pdt.html#srcid=11026 [Yes i know it is a very bad quality]) but i am still having very bad audio problems with heavy static and very bad pickup/noise cancellation, (I have to put it on maximum gain to get audible levels) I am also experiencing the problem of because i am mixing my motherboards built in sound card and a USB sound card adaptor that i am getting it where some programs can not detect the USB sound card because my motherboards is the main audio.. Also my audio drivers can not adapt the settings for a USB sound card other than the microphones gain, and volumes. I mean the microphone isn't useless at the moment but for what my family paid for it (£50) through your amazon store (Where it states nothing about it requiring a higher voltage than most motherboards can actually provide [It actually states immediate plug & play]) I would prefer a more robust solution like if you could recommend a good sound card internal or external that can carry the IO that i need it to (7.1 surround for speakers, digital out, mic in and line in) I do need a solution that would be a one driver solution rather than having conflicts between USB and my motherboard.
  13. I have also tried with or without AGC and it made no difference to having it on max gain.
  14. Audio drivers are installed and fully upto date, i am using discord, teamspeak, in game mic and also just using the standard playback from windows or my audio software.
  15. I was recently gifted an Antlion Modmic 4, and although it states on the box that it is basically plug and play, i plugged it into my motherboards microphone jack and noticed that it was very quiet even with a +30db gain..I did some research and found that i should use a cheap USB sound card and it will make it sound as it should I still have to have the gain on maximum and the audio quality is terrible now with huge amounts of static noise, pickup issues and background noise rejection even though it is a uni directional mic pointed right at my mouth... The only upside i can see so far is when i do manage to get it to pick up my voice it sounds amazing for if you love ASMR breathing. Can anyone help with this problem because i am thinking of getting a dedicated sound card but I am having trouble finding one that anyone can recommend would actually work...
  16. It tells you in the article "Furthermore, with the help of appropriate cables, devices which require a power supply of 12 V or 24 V, e.g. barcode scanner or POS systems, can be connected and need no additional power supply."
  17. A while ago I installed AI 2015 Student on my laptop and found it wouldn't run properly so I uninstalled it, Autodesk 360 failed to uninstall and caused my Laptop to keep experiencing BSOD with the error code IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, I tried multiple solutions that I found online but nothing fixed it apart from uninstalling and reinstalling windows. Fast forward a few years and I had AI 2015 Student on my desktop running fine and today I had to uninstall it for space for a project I am working on with other software, Autodesk 360 failed to uninstall correctly again and while watching a video about 4 hours later my desktop BSOD with the same error code, I don't really want to have to reinstall windows as I am installing it again in a few days as I am upgrading my computer but I can not deal with it BSOD like it did on my laptop until I upgrade my desktop. I can not contact Autodesk as they don't allow support unless your paying them for a product subscription.
  18. Yeah when I was looking into the error code that you first provided I saw those two popping up aswell, the only solutions that I found were to do with editing the registry and they were normally for a server and didnt always work. Sorry but I can't really help any further with this.
  19. You said that you have tried it using hdmi on another computer, was that using the USB, also have you tried plugging the tablet into the usb and HDMI port on your PC rather than using the adaptor? If you have tried these and the problem is there then it may be a faulty tablet, I have also looked into the error code you are saying is showing on eventviewer and I can only find ones relating to servers for the Cache, if the above problems still happen then unfortunately I can't help any further.
  20. Do you have a link to the adaptor you bought? Also it sounds as though it may be a faulty adaptor, https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00S0C7QO8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 this is one Ih ave been using for 1080p at 75hz and it seems to be working fine, I would advise to return the one your using and try a different one if possible.
  21. I have been in contact with Oculus now for over a month trying to get the problem resolved, I got given a replacement headset and the problem still persisted, I tried a friends GTX 1080Ti and the problem still persisted, I have run memory diagnostics with no errors on multiple tests, I have also been given a replacement CPU by AMD and the problem is still there, Oculus is now just ignoring my messages and cutting the support off, I can not return my Oculus to the original retailer due to the time Oculus has taken in order to try to troubleshoot and the fact that I no longer have the original headset I have a refurbished one that Oculus sent, I can't sell it on to another person for anywhere near the price that I paid for it as I would actually have to list it as spares or repairs as I have no way of proving the product actually works, Oculus are refusing to offer a refund through them and I can't use the Oculus due to the problem. The problem I am having is heavy stuttering, tearing and graphical artefacts, i get these even on minimum settings and even if I enable sub-sampling of 0.2 nothing other than the oculus has this problem even when running stereoscopic 3D on my desktop monitors or surround setup with 3 1080p monitors so 5760*1080, I know that rendering for the Oculus is different but with my type of hardware I should have no problem running it especially on minimum settings (my hardware is my my signature)
  22. I would believe that but it isn't like it is not being used, it goes from 3.5ghz idle to 1.2 or 1.3 when I start playing games.
  23. I recently got given an Asus GL503VM from my parents and I have noticed that the CPU frequency when ever I do gaming drops down to 1.2 or 1.3Ghz. I know it isn't the temperature because it is at about 53°C and I can run Aida64 and other stress tests and it stays at 3.5ghz during them with no thermal throttling. Any ideas on what could be causing this? I have disabled as many power management options as I can.
  24. While I know there was a hell of a lot of mistakes in the video the main thing that kinda annoyed me was the fact that he said "nm" not nano-meter...
