  1. Rx570 is very old in PC terms. It'll struggle. Have him save up for a modern upgrade.
  2. Those are perfect parts to start a NAS build. Mine was a 1600 +8GB RAM + 1050Ti at first. I'd flesh out a Windows machine, get the rest of the parts. THEN if you need more, look into prebuilts. But you have a great base to start.
  3. I think your used prices are too close to your new prices. I wouldn't pay $50 for 32GB RAM used when I can get it new for $55. Nor would I pay $100 for a 5600X.
  4. Well, having that PSU in it will allow someone to throw almost any GPU in it, so use that as a selling point. You do you, can''t comment on if you need the money, or the space, or more machines, etc. I just know I wouldn't pay more than $250 for what you listed.
  5. Probably around $250. Good base for adding a GPU to. No fucking clue why that PSU is in it. I'd use that in another build, personally.
  6. 8GB RAM won't cut it at all. GPU is okay, CPU okay. not sure on motherboard. But that RAM needs to be 16GB, and what is the storage? You can look up the board and see what CPUs it supports. Begging... meh.
  7. Artifacting isn't always a shrug and ehh situation. Could be a failing GPU, so get all the software and drives situated. Cross your fingers.
  8. It's so much more complicated than that, and not all of us pay a lot for power. Or make a lot more, relatively. Nor do we have kids who we worry about inheriting the earth, etc etc etc. (added for non parents, of which I am not).
  9. Why can't you do all that thru your phone and earbuds? I doubt your company forbids use of personal devices.
  10. Obviously you've never had a OnePlus phone before then. 3, 7T Pro McLaren, 11T now. If you're going to prejudge and be bigotted toward a product, at least be right.
  11. No, but I wanted to point out that with your budget, you can get the fastest of both CPU and GPU. If you take mine and replace the 4090 with the 4080 Super, you have almost the same performance with a lot of money saved for flashy lights Just showing you the top end, you decide where you want to be.
  12. Are you looking to save money, or did you buy a 32 ounce bottle of lube? That AIO is utter ridiculous and someone at NZXT should be shot for that price. All that fans?! You have 600 in cooling alone, coupled with the hottest CPU known to man.... would you be interested in saving that money or deploying it properly to get: 1. World's fastest gaming CPU in the World!!! (yes, I know I used World twice) 2. World's fastest gaming GPU in the World!!!! (again) Up to you, but definitely have room for improvement unless you truly WANT what you posted. You could literally have the fastest gaming PC (in the world) with a little shifting. For example and your tweaking pleasure... 13. What does this mean? If you want more frames than your friend, for some odd reason, you need to buy at least a 4070 super. What's your total budget?
  14. Forego the bottom intake, if they're obstructed by the PSU and cabling. I'd get 2x 140's for the top exhaust, placed as far rear as possble.
  15. lol, buying quality is never a bad thing 5700X has the extra cores, if your software can utilize.
  16. I'm not home right now, so can't screen shot my BIOS setting, but you should see Curve Optimizer in there, and set it Negative, then -25 or -30, etc. Whichever is stable. The YT vids I linked are good guides.
  17. What CPU? Follow one of these for PBO/CO... https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=AM5+pbo
  18. True. When agall mentioned I may be pushing too hard, I tried -20 and -25 with a +1 change in Cinebench. My 7700X and 7800X3D both do -30, but I admit to not really knowing what that means on all levels. I assume the chips are decent and the Pro AX is a good board *shrug*.

    monitor

Explain more. You already bought a monitor? Which one? $100 won't get you a 1440p (I assume that's what you mean by 2k) monitor with 165Hz I don't think. May have to return what you bought, or save up more.
  20. Newegg in my experience has the best laptop prices on average, outside of big sales. SD card readers are rare these days, I think?
  21. This. I do Optimized Defaults, PBO (-30, motherboard limits), EXPO, done. Fast Boot and what not is personal preference.
  22. Why the hell are you using 200mm fans? Get a Fractal North XL, put the 420mm in the front, and 3x140's up top and a 4th rear. https://www.fractal-design.com/products/cases/north/north-xl/chalk-white/ May be budget tight for canada.
  23. Numbers man. Numbers. Advancement. Bigger than last year. Etc. People buy things for various reasons, and one of those is perception. If 5 is perceived as faster than 4, we'll have 6 next year!
