  1. Yes I did try that but I got the same message, however some interesting news: I took out my SSD with windows 10 from my desktop pc and put it into my laptop and it booted, but then about 30 minutes later i got a BSOD with the message: "MEMORY MANAGEMENT" but the memory on this laptop should be fine and if that was really the issue then it should have been fine on my desktop which has 2 sticks of 8gb RAM... It is very strange...
  2. If I install windows 10 again (which will suck quite a bit since i'll lose all of my SSD files probably) will i also lose all of my files on my HDD, as long as i select the SSD to put windows 10 on?
  3. I did attempt to diagnose and then do the automatic repair from my installation usb but it didnt work
  4. It does detect both of my drives, the SSD and the HDD, so there shouldn't be anything wrong with the right? The only thing that could possibly have caused the issue is lack of space on my SSD (which is only 240gb) but i didnt think that could mess everything up just because it was full (it may or may not have been full)
  5. Yeah I still get the same deal unfortunately. If I re-install windows on my SSD will it format it in the process? I did back up (move) some of my files i use regularly (one is a minecraft server) to my HDD so that would still be there even after formatting the SSD to put windows on it again, correct?
  6. I was only able to change the boot order to have my HDD as 1st in the "Hard disk drive BBS properties" never mind I was able to change it but I got the same message
  7. The first boot option selected is my SSD, and no matter how many times I select it i still get the same black screen with the message. Also the only usb devices I have in are for my wireless and one for my keyboard, there are no USB storage devices
  8. Hello all, I have had my desktop pc for at least like 6 months or so, built it myself with help of friends, and it has worked flawlessly since, no BSODs that I can recall, and I don't overclock or anything similar. Windows 10 is installed on my SSD with about 240gb capacity (stats of my pc build should be in my bio.) I didn't/don't tinker with my computer unless something goes wrong, such as now. I just turned on my computer as normal and it went past the motherboard screen to a black screen with the message in the picture. Attached are other pictures of the settings, but really I have no idea why it suddenly wont go to windows. Thanks in advance for any help.

    Windows 10 sound

Anyone know how to stop Windows 10 from changing all the sounds to be different, i want them all to mimic the master volume but after i reset them all they just change back again...
  11. I think I got it working now, I just forgot to click "add port" after enter the details on the page from "Add new IPv4 port mapping" Marking topic as solved.
  12. Update: I have found the page, but it looks very complicated:
  13. Hello, I have just got a new router (I am with Westnet and it is a iiNet router: "TG-789")and got nbn and I would like to know: 1. If this router can actually support port forwarding 2. How do I add port(s) to it (It doesn't say anything in the manual) I have port forwarded before so I know pretty much how it works but I don't seem to be able to find any settings for it on this one as the interface is very different. Thanks in advance.
  14. @wirs I'm not quite sure what that is, (so likely not) but I know the motherboard is MSI H270 PC MATE LGA1151 ATX. Now that I think of it iIf an I/O shield is just the metal thing then yeah I think I have it installed!
  15. Hi all, the "problem" I'm curious about is why my back I/O ports produce weird static noises. When I use my mic from the back green and red mic ports it sounds distorted and low-ish quality and also has a constant humming/static noise. The same thing happens with whatever i plug into it. It's not a huge issue since my front I/O ports work perfectly but I'm really just curious if there's a reason why and if I can fix it? Thanks in advance.
  16. Depending on how the mic is set up (for example my new mic can't sound crap like I think you are trying to get it to) you can just remove the material filter, as long as you are sure you can get it back on without breaking it or are okay with breaking the filter
  17. @Ryan_VickersHmm... I downloaded Windows 10 and installed it on my laptop yesterday with the new SSD in it; didn't enter an activation code and it seems to be working fine, it even did what I think were 3 updates/restarts... Does this mean that I'm not going to have to buy another key/code, however I though it might be something to do with me signing in on it with my Microsoft account, or being on the same network as my Desktop (with Windows 10 home)
  18. Thanks all for the input, looks like I will be buying another of the same I already have on my desktop PC, as that seems to be working perfectly at the moment. Topic marked as solved.
  19. Thanks for the reply, I think I get it now, so OEM is 1-use but it will stay valid as long as you don't try to deactivate it and re activate on another machine (it will no longer be valid) but a FPP (Retail) can be used on any machine and moved at any time but only 1 simultaneously? And don't worry about me manning up and buying the proper one; my intention was never to buy a shady/distrusted key for Windows. So this here from a store I have bought from before is the correct FPP (Retail) key that will work on any 1 machine simultaneously, and IS transferrable in the future if required (e.g to a new storage space?) https://www.ple.com.au/Products/619985/Microsoft-Windows-10-Home-Retail-3264-Bit-Flash-Drive Thanks in advance.
  20. Thanks all for the replies. The main issues I face are that 1. I don't think I'm going to be able to find the windows 8 key and 2. My current laptop drive (HDD) is failing so it needs to be replaced with the SSD I bought. Having windows 8 on the new SSD would be fine but if it's not really possible without the code since I don't know how to transfer the files I'm thinking it may be easier to get a lifetime Windows 10 home DVD/USB so It would guarantee it working and I could re install it as much as I want. Are all windows 10's that come with a DVD/USB unlimited/lifetime installs, for example this one? https://www.pccasegear.com/products/32775?utm_source=getprice&utm_medium=cpc Thanks.
  21. Well what happened when I did the install is it downloaded everything but then corrupted or something right before it finished upgrading to windows 10 The problem is I don't have the license key for that windows 8 version either which is why I have to buy another. I'm all for doing stuff legit but they really don't make it tempting...
  22. Hi all, I am looking to upgrade my laptop from Windows 8 to Windows 10 and for whatever reason I can no longer do it "free" as it was offered and I didn't want to do it at the time. Basically I live in Western Australia and I want to get a legit copy (lifetime) edition of Windows 10. Nearby stores offer Windows 10 for about $190.00 (143 USD) and that seems a lot to pay, even for a legit version. I have seen the terms "OEM" "Home edition" "Full" etc but I am just looking for the full windows 10 home edition. Also it needs to come with a USB and/or CD I would like to also know about how the versions work e.g unlimited installs/PCs since I've seen some as 1pc (1 license) For example I'm fairly sure I've ordered my replacement SSD from this store and maybe this one is the one I'm looking for? https://www.pccasegear.com/products/32775?utm_source=getprice&utm_medium=cpc Sorry for the messy/long sentence stucture and thanks in advance!
  23. Thanks all for the fast replies. I think I understand it now the main thing confusing me was the 4 pins.
  24. Hi all, I am new to this forum, so forgive me if I made a duplicate post etc. My issue is that I am wanting to replace the faulty HDD in my laptop (I've had it for quite a few years) with a new SSD (most likely a Kingston 240gb) but before I buy one I would like to know if it's actually going to be compatible with the laptop connections. Please see the attached images and thanks in advance! Also the text on the reference2 image I believe is roughly "CONN SIDE 13GNUHVAM03X-1"
