  1. @M.Yurizaki if you check these forums https://vip.asus.com/FORUM/view.aspx?board_id=1&model=SABERTOOTH+990FX+R2.0&id=20161022103444896&page=1&SLanguage=en-us It appears that bios 2901 comes with nvme support. I have googled it and it seems others have gotten it to work as well. I think I will be able to get only 2000 mb/s speed max with it since that is the cap for pci 2.0 since the card can run up to 3400 mb/s. Hopefully I can get it to work as a boot drive. If anyone with experience on any of the parts can confirm that would be appreciated!
  2. Hello, I am planning on getting this Ableconn PEXM2-SSD M.2 NGFF PCIe SSD to PCI Express 3.0 x4 Host Adapter Card https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B017JGVTAM/ref=ask_ql_qh_dp_hza And using it with 1 tb WD black m.2 https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07BR9FV1C/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A2YLYLTN75J8LR&psc=1 on my asus 990fx r2.0 with the nvme 2901 bios update :https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/SABERTOOTH_990FX_R20/specifications/ My concern is will I be able to achieve max speeds with my pcie lanes being 2.0? The adapter says "PCI Express 3.0 x4 Lane Host adapter. Supports PCIe 2.0 and PCIe 3.0 motherboard" so will it work and be able to achieve max speeds? If it does not work, then which SSD would you recommend that is either nvme or sata? Thanks for any input!
