  1. Some interesting things of note, I got it to work again but I have no idea how. It decided to randomly post this one time I flicked the power switch on. Then I got some leds. They said it was ram, so I reseated my ram, and now it's working again???? Case closed or does anyone think it could have been something different. Also I didn't change or move my ram prior to pc failing

  2. Ryzen 3600

    700w corsair non modular

    5600 msi gaming x and

    32gb 3600 corsair rgb (8x4)

    Asus b450f strix

This build is very new, less than 5 months old. None are used and I can almost be sure that all parts are functional.

I noticed I was starting to getting some system instability so I decided to restart my pc, the only thing is that it didn't turn back on. When I tried to hit the case power button it just tried to start and then it flicks off, does this on repeat until you hit the power supply switch.

Any intial thoughts or help would be fantastic, thank you.

Odd, I would add 2 of the new sticks run MemTest86 verify there is no issues, then remove those 2 sticks and ad the next 2 and run the test again. This is where checking Bios may help, if you are on an older version and newer updates correspond to memory stability etc then I would look at a Bios update, assuming your memory passes the MemTest with flying colors.

So I tested the two bad sticks individually as well, and no luck. Makes me wonder if I unironicly got sent faulty ram. I'll give mem test a try

It shouldn't need a Bios update if it worked prior to new memory and GPU being installed. I would only update the bios as a last resort as it is highly unlikely that will fix the issue. I would first clear CMOS, put the old GPU in, see if that works. DDU the GPU drivers, then put the new GPU back in.

Gpu problem solved, now for ram. Any ideas?

My bad assumed the whole system was new, just the GPU and RAM I see. Have you reset the CMOS?

I have not, I'm going to update my bios with old parts and then stick new parts in, still no luck I'll try that.

Try swap in the old ram , if it works, its the ram, if not, swap the gpu. Make sure you have 8/6 pin power plugged into the gpu, make sure it sits in the pcie slot properly, make sure your monitor is turned on, make sure the cable your using to connect it works, etc

Like i said it's nothing obvious from what I can tell, I'll keep jabbing

Well you can't post without a compatible CPU, so verify if the board has been updated, it could say so right on the motherboard box, if not then it is likely it needs an update and I don't think that motherboard has USB flashback.

If this is the case then you have a few options.

    - Find someone to lend you a 1st or 2nd gen Ryzen CPU

    - Get a local PC shop to update the bios for you

    - Return the board and get a board the supports 3rd gen out of box (I recommend B550 at this point)

    - Get a loaner CPU from AMD (this will take time to have a CPU sent to you, then you have to send it back). https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/pa-100#faq-Short-Term-Processor-Loan-Boot-Kit

I was just using my 3600 today..... It's not the CPU

Thats the motherboard "error LED". Its job is to tell the user that something is wrong, look in your motherboards manual and it'll tell you what the light sequence means.

The motherboard manual only hints as to what may be wrong, in this case red means cpu and yellow means dram. However I know for a fact my CPU is fine because I was just using it.

  8. I have 3 monitors, The center one being 144hz refresh rate and the only one i care about. I currently have a rx580 MSI ARMOR 8G and want to get another so i can maximize my fps in esports games and other low intensity games. at the time of posting this, the current price of a used 580 on ebay is around $100-$150 usd.

    Would it be worth?

  9. So i recently ordered a new motherboard:

    Asus ROG Strix b450-f

    Gskill Tridentz rgb ddr4 (8gbx2) 3000hz

    Ryzen 7 1700

And as much as i love the board, its been nothing but trouble for me. Rog Bios is very simple and straightforward, but for some unknown reason i cannot get my memory to go to 3000hz

everytime i try im met with the settings being reset, and im forced to go to 2133hz to boot windows.

Any help would be very appreciated.

  10. I've tried going to 1000 different calculator sites and they they all kinda tell me different things.

So maybe you guys can decide,

    System specs:
    Ryzen 7 1700
    MSI RX580 ARMOR 8GB

    16gb(8x2) Tridentz RGB ddr4

    A320 asus board

    EVGA 500w 80 Plus white

Am i going to survive with this power supply for now?
