  1. I have a spare laptop that I don’t use. It’s also 5 years old but it doesn’t work because the ram is busted. I’m gonna try and take the HDD out of that one and put it into my pc. Then I’ll try to wipe it, and install a fresh version of windows. After that I’ll open his laptop and I’ll put the HDD into his laptop. Will it startup flawlessly into a new windows or will I need to do any tweaking or any other steps? cheers
  2. Accidental comment, dont know how to delete
  3. He punched the screen lol, I find it pretty hilarious. The HDD is fine, but its very slow considering its 5 years old and only until recently he has been leaving his computer on due to this issue. He also had some windows updated pending so that's a part of the reason I restarted it. He hasn't done a reset in the past 4 years so I can imagine many corrupt files and viruses he may have accumulated during the years. My bad for not putting this information in. Cheers
  4. I'm gonna try and explain this in the shortest way possible. Cousins laptop entered BSOD after I restarted it, the uptime was incredible. He mentioned restarting it does that and it turns back to normal if I keep turning it on and off again continuously, didn't work. His not that experienced with computers so he just does random shit hoping it works. Its an HP laptop and the screen is cracked, cant see anything on the left half of screen so he uses an external monitor. I've tried to use the external monitor to navigate through the recovery screen but the laptop just doesn't connect to it unless I'm on the lock screen. So I navigate blindly and I've gotten into cmd a couple of times. I've tried commands to repair system files and bcdedit fixboot commands but nothing works. He isn't keen on me resetting it completely. I do a restart to see if the commands work but the laptop starts up with automatic repair and goes into a blue screen and said there is a problem. It isn't the BSOD screen its the recovery screen where I'm meant to access CMD, and all those options. Thing is I used to be able to access it until it decided to stop working, now I cannot access the recovery screen now which is just absurd. I've tried countless methods but to no avail unfortunately. I've tried: Bcdedit Commands (No access to CMD now) Accessing Safe mode (When I tried, it just turned off and took me back to the recovery screen which makes me think there is no hope left as safe mode always works with my problems. Also no access to it anymore) Shutting the laptop lid while turning it on at the same time so the computer can attempt to connect to the external monitor (Didn't work) Accessing Bios to boot from a USB with windows 10 installed. (Laptop doesn't detect USB for some reason but other laptops did. I can barely see anything in bios since cracked screen, only the description for the options) I don't wanna get the screen fixed for him as the laptop is 5 years old and he only uses it for minecraft. He doesn't care if I factory reset at this point, he just wants it to work again. I just need an option to reset it somehow as the situation is looking awful. Please anyone help this is looking impossible to fix. If anyone needs info or pictures just ask! Cheers
  5. Theres no bluetooth at all unless its something else...
  6. I downloaded this yesterday but nothing shows up in device manager still... I am trying to connect airpods if that helps! Also should I have transmitter or receiver mode on?
  7. I bought shorturl.at/mKPQX and my pc isn't detecting it for whatever reason. It has two modes which are red and blue, red is receiving and blue is transmitting. I plugged it into my pc and I cant connect anything to it. In device manager there is no Bluetooth section.
  8. I feel like I pushed it hard enough but while pushing I don’t go very hard on it because I’m afraid of it snapping... (I’ll try harder this time)
  9. I am almost certain the RAM is inserted correctly because the side clips hook in and make that clip sound. When I replaced the thermal paste I just unscrewed a copper pipe and replaced it, then I put the copper pipe back on. What should I check? I took out a few cables but I made sure to put them back in.
  10. Came back from holiday and I decided to clean my laptop, I didn’t check if it still worked before but it did before I left. I removed the dust and replaced the thermal paste, I also took out the RAM and put it back in, then I closed the laptop and when I started it all I got was a black screen. Everything turned on normal, LED light on, HDD spinning, the CPU and GPU is emitting heat and it all seems fine. I connected a monitor and the monitor didn’t detect anything, I also tried clearing CMOS by taking the little silver battery thing out and putting it back in. Nothing works and I really need some help. Cheers
  11. Thanks for the answers! All of the answers conclude that I will not overclock my monitor. Thank you! ?
  12. I have an Omen 144hz 1ms 24 inch & I wan't to try overclocking it to 165hz. Questions: 1. Will there be a noticeable difference when turning & doing normal gaming stuff? 2. People say it will decrease the lifespan of you're monitor. Is that true, if so to what extend? 3. Will my monitor be ok if I overclock it to 165hz? 4. Is it worth it overall? CPU: i5-8400 GPU: 1060 6GB Gaming X Thanks!
