I need suggestion for upgrading RAM
printf_cyber replied to printf_cyber's topic in New Builds and Planning
4 slots - 1 free Was thinking the same - will probably go for it - thanks I think I'll go for a 4GB stick for now cz I'm not in US and $100 is not a small amount here in Pakistan :P (it's around 16k - for reference, 1k can buy you the biggest cereal box of koko krunch and 1ltr milk/5k is the amount an average person would spend on food in a month) But I will consider this option when I intend to upgrade this PC :) -
Hey Guys! I own a low-end PC running Windows 10 (64 bit) that I mostly use for work (browsing up to 15 tabs at once and using Microsoft Office) and occasionally for Photoshop/other resource heavy applications. I currently have 4GB RAM which is pretty slow and inadequate; I started feeling lag as my workload increased (I also used the Performance Monitor to check how much virtual memory my system used and it would start paging as soon as I open anything other than the browser and Microsoft Office). Therefore, I would like to increase it up to about 8GB and that should be enough for now. I just need a cost-effective advice as to what RAM I should choose and what I should do with the RAM that I currently have. I have attached the CPU-Z screenshots of the specs and am willing to provide you with any other hardware info required to make your decision And BTW I am NOT looking forward to buying a new PC with a better CPU and motherboard. Instead, I just want to upgrade the RAM a bit and build a PC later on when I can afford it... Regards, Basil

malwarebytes has really low market share + bad reviews + too many cons and avast outperforms - i did a hell lot of research and it came down to kaspersky and avst, i chose avast cz it suited me :) on it
-
so i get around 120 ping normally (without avast) and now i get 280 ping... when i turn it off, i get 120 again.. why? any reason?
-
it was done by choosing between these options in the dropdown menu: also, it was eth4 even when my pc was on the 1st port (eth1) but then i switched to the 4th port (eth4) thinking it might work... but it didnt. which means its probably a preset and independent of the devices connected to the port
-
still not working bro and yea its dsl i can view more settings if u want... something wrong might be triggered on/off...
-
just one router: dlink (model: dsl-2750u)
-
how do i check that im not behind a dbl nat? i was checking the port on that software and when i entered my ip in dmz host it worked but when i put it in port forwarding it dznt :/
-
port forwarding fails after all the settings in the router and even after allowing inbound connections through windows firewall.. enabling dmz works but i wanna avoid that shit cz that makes me vulnerable to attacks.. help :/

i have a spare drive but the prob is i dont wanna be vulnerable out there doing pentesting... its always recommended to use a VM for such things -

on it -
Hey Guys! I wanted to install Kali Linux for pentesting on my PC and run it as a VM - i used to work on a live usb before. It's a potato (specs attached). The questions are: What VM software should i choose? How much RAM should I allocate? Will it run? If so, how smooth?
