  1. I have a beard and when wearing around the ear headphones my face can get a bit itchy and warm, I often find myself using a crappy pair of ear buds and my studio mic for gaming while voiping instead of my headset that has a built in boom mic. I want a new pair of ear buds that have a good microphone, unfortunately it seems lots have crappy inline mics :(. I'm thinking it might be possible to attach my mod mic to a pair of stealseries flux pros since they have a flat surface, do you think that would work or add too much weight to an ear bud? Any other suggestions for someone who wants a decent mic but earbuds for comfort?
  2. Well, there are more than just metal hard mousepads in fact most hard mousepads are plastic. I'm looking for a mouse pad that is hard and doesn't wear out in 2 months.
  3. I've owned a Mionix Ensis 320 (http://mionix.net/products/ensis-320/) for 2 months and it has already worn out. I've attached a picture that shows the worn areas of the mouse pad. Basically this aluminum mouse pad has a thin coating that gets worn out very quickly and exposes an underlying material that is a much "stickier" surface. This leads to a horrible mouse experience because when your mouse's feet (in my case a Mionix Naos 5000) track over the exposed surface it screws up your mouse movements. I've contacted Newegg, but returns are only accepted within 30 days, I've also contact Mionix to see if I can get a refund/replacement/different mouse pad. I just wanted to let people know that the durability of this mouse pad is extremely poor and I would not recommend it to anyone. What mouse pads would you recommend I try next? No cloth mouse pads please.
  4. Like Emperor_Piehead said, the BenQ XL2420T is a great monitor, highly regarded by most users as one of the best 120hz gaming monitors. I've been using one for about 8 months and would strongly recommend it to many one. Out of the box the colors are a bit off (purple tint), but if you have a monitor color calibrator or just do a quick search for color settings other people are using it looks great once tweaked a bit. The bezel and the screen are both a matte finish, although strangely the inner bevel on the bezel is a bit glossy and sometimes reflects the colors coming from the edge of the monitor. It really isn't an issue, but seems like a stupid design flaw.
  5. How do you properly pronounce Mionix? I just ordered the Naos 5000 and Ensis 320 and want to make sure I'm pronouncing it correctly.
  6. I'm relativity new to PC gaming and I'm looking for some aiming skill based shooters to play. I enjoy Battlefield 3's military setting, graphics, but can't stand the way vehicles spawn/lock on mechanics with air maps and the blatant imbalance with the assault kit/m16a3 on infantry maps. I like Counter Strike Global Offensive, but I feel like it is too random, I get killed by a guy spraying from a random headshot. I also don't like the uber fast bunny hopping games like quake or the run and gun spray call of duty games. Basically I'm looking for a FPS that is actually balanced, has a high "time-to-kill", has an emphasis on headshots or aim based skill, a high skill ceiling, and I also enjoy the RPG leveling up elements of many shooters today. Lemme know what games I might enjoy. For example I've really enjoyed Tribes Ascend, I'm redownloading that now...
  7. Sorry to butt in here, but what about the h80i. I'm in a similar situation, I got a h100i but it didn't fit in my case, so I'm looking at the h80i, the Phanteks PH-TC14PE and the Noctua NH-D14. I'm mostly looking for the quietest option because I do lots of audio recordings near my PC and don't care much about looks and temps as my case doesn't have a window and I only push a 4.6GHz OC.
  8. I was about to order the desk yesterday, till I found out the shipping for the $180 desk was $300... So I ended up looking around on craigslist and finding this incredibly sturdy solid wood desk for only $15, honestly couldn't ask for a better bang for my buck. It might not be height adjustable, or look all that pretty but god damn is it hefty.
  9. I ended up getting one of these: http://www.amazon.com/Grain-Premium-Leather-Executive-Office/dp/B0081LC210/ref=pd_sxp_grid_i_0_1 (although it was on sale for $160 at Costco). Overall I'm extremely impressed with the build quality and the comfort level. It was a bit difficult to assemble but first impressions are quite high. Hopefully it won't fall apart on me.
  10. Funny thing is, this is the current desk I'm using. I've owned it for 4 years and it is quite warped, scratched, and wobbly. That is why I'm looking for a new desk.
  11. Does the Signum (http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/30200253/) attach to the steal frame of the desk or drill into the wood? Guessing I wouldn't be able to use this on the glass table top if it screw into the wood...
  12. What exactly do you mean, can you send me some links?
  13. I'm looking to get a new desk, specifically an IKEA galant desk, although there are a few options I'm not quite sure about. I'm hoping some users out there have experience with these desks and can give me a few tips. First, A vs T legs, seems like the T legs are more stable and easier to adjust the height, but I could be wrong. Second, wood vs glass top. The wood top is a partical board build but the glass is probably a finger print magnet. wood http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/S19852113/#/S39837013 glass http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/S49870846/#/S19870843
  14. I'm in the market for a new desk chair, I've got ~$200 to spend and would like something leather/pleather or mesh in black. I'm quite the large guy at 6ft 5in an 260lbs so I need something well built with lumbar support. Here are the 3 chairs I've narrowed it down too: http://www.amazon.com/Serta-Executiv...0091531&sr=1-2 http://www.amazon.com/Serta-Leather-...0091531&sr=1-1 http://www.amazon.com/Serta-Executiv...0091531&sr=1-4 Basically if you could choose between these three chairs which one would you choose and why, or what other chair would you recommend for my specifications.
