  1. Budget (including currency): Around PHP 15,000-18,000 (between $270-$210 USD) for GPU; around 10,000php for CPU ($200usd) Country: Philippines Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: GAMES: Cyberpunk 2077, Alan Wake 2, Dead Space (2023 Remake), Dying Light 2, Resident Evil 4 Remake, The Quarry, or Games to be release for the next 2-3 years. WORKLOADS: Vegas Pro 21, Adobe Photoshop, Android Studio, Virtual Machine, OBS Livestream Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I am need of advice if now would be a good time to upgrade or should I wait for 8th gen Ryzen CPUs to be release and same goes with graphics cards. As I've been asking here a couple of times on what is the best upgrade path and after some research. I've decided to upgrade at the following plan: CPU CURRENT CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 1700 UPGRADING TO: AMD Ryzen 7 5700x GPU CURRENT GPU: AMD RX580 8gb 256-Bit GDDR5 Asus Strix OC Edition UPGRADING TO: Asus Strix 12gb GDDR6 RX 6700 XT CURRENT OVERALL SPECS: CPU -- AMD Ryzen 7 1700 (AM4) - Original CPU since the PC was built back in late 2017. Motherboard -- Gigabyte GA-B450 Aorus Pro WiFi (BIOS: 60h - 04/FEB/2021, ryzen 5000 series ready!) (2nd motherboard, upgraded from 2020) RAM -- G.Skill Trident Z RGB 3000mhz 2x8gb DDR4 Black HS, CL16 1.35v, pn: F4 3000C16D (2nd RAM, upgraded last October 2018) GPU -- AMD RX580 8gb 256-Bit GDDR5 Asus Strix OC Edition 3 FAN Full RGB (Asus Aura) (2nd GPU since October 2018) PSU -- Seasonic M12II-620 EVO 620W 80+ Bronze FULLY MODULAR (Original PSU) MONITOR -- Asus ROG Swift XG27V VA Panel 27" 1080p Panel FREESYNC 144hz Curved Screen; Dell U2412M IPS 60hz Monitor Cooling -- NZXT Kraken Z63 GOAL: To have a more smoother gameplay with newer games and also to maximize the potential of my high FPS monitor. I'm still contented with 1080p gaming. Looking for a best-bang-for-your-buck upgrade as possible. Should I wait to upgrade or now would be a good time to upgrade? Any thoughts or ideas are welcome. Thank you.
  2. Same here in the PH, it's only 100-200 php difference (about 1-3 usd), you're right. Even here, 5700x is slightly more expensive than the 5700g.
  3. Which begs the question, if I have already upgraded to 5700x, and when the time comes I'll upgrade my Rx580 to a newer one, what are your recommendations, if ever?
  4. You're right, that's expected, considering my RX 580 is a couple of generations behind when Ryzen 5700x is out. I'll just have to make the most out of it. I just want to feel like I've done something new with my PC, that I can comfortably play games in the few years, want to have that performance like back in when this was 0-2 years old. All well said, thank you again.
  5. Thank you for this. Is 16gb still the norm or the recommended RAM capacity for gaming like back in 2017/2018? I'm already out of touch, I'm not sure anymore which is the norm. Honestly, it is still fine for me until now. Okay, if I follow your advice, I'll take 5700x. Will I face a bottleneck issue if I'm still using my old RX 580 8gb? I just don't have the budget just yet to buy a new GPU. But when the time comes, what would be the best upgrade path for it?
  6. Budget (including currency): Around PHP 8,000-12,000 (between $140 - $210 USD) Country: Philippines Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: GAMES: Cyberpunk 2077, Alan Wake 2, Dead Space (2023 Remake), Dying Light 2, Resident Evil 4 Remake, The Quarry, or Games to be release for the next 2-3 years. WORKLOADS: Vegas Pro 21, Adobe Photoshop, Android Studio, Virtual Machine, Livestream Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I am open for any advice what should I upgrade because I'm starting to notice my gaming PC is aging. I'm having thoughts lately to upgrade as we're couple of months away from the holidays. I haven't made any major upgrades since late 2018. At the moment, I'm looking at getting a Ryzen 7 5700g CPU to replace my aging Ryzen 1700 (as this is the original CPU since I built this PC from day one back in 2017). As I might consider going GPU-less once I've upgraded to Ryzen 5700g or what is the best GPU upgrade for my aging RX 580 8gb GPU based on my needs and budget? I've also checked Facebook marketplace, the average price of a "tray only" Ryzen 5700g is around $135-185 USD. Also, I'm still sticking to 1080p gaming and as I want to utilize my monitor's high FPS of 144hz as possible. Also, is it advisable for me to upgrade my RAM too? Should I stick to 2x8gb or should I consider upgrade to 2x16gb or 4x8gb? Gaming-wise, I just wanted to make sure that my PC would handle newer title in the next few years would be nice. Also, that I would be able to upgrade to Windows 11 even though I'm not yet ready to ditch Windows 10, I just wanted to have the option that upgrade to Win11 is possible for my PC. I'll still stick to Windows 10 until then. I'm planning to buy sometime this coming December or January 2024. Thank you. CURRENT SPECS: CPU -- AMD Ryzen 7 1700 (AM4) - Original CPU since the PC was built back in late 2017. 7. Budget (including currency): Not yet planned (open for options/suggestions) Country: Philippines Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Vegas Pro 20, Android Studio, Oracle VirtualBox, OBS Livestream, Adobe Photoshop Good for Resident Evil 4 RE (2023), Dying Light 2, Cyberpunk 2077, MS Flight Sim. 2020 Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Hello! I am open for any advice, I've been delaying this upgrade plan for nearly 3 years now. Now, I've been doing a lot of thinking lately on what should I upgrade for my PC's CPU. I've decided to focus first with the CPU and to make sure that my PC is Windows 11 ready but I am not about to make the jump just yet. Since Ryzen 7th Gen is out now, my question is, is it practical for me to upgrade to Ryzen 7 3700x and stick to what I have right now? Or it would be wise to invest more towards 5th Gen Ryzen instead? Because I'm no longer updated with parts that needs to be matched up with, just to avoid bottleneck or whatnot. I wish to know what are my options, that is all. Lastly, I've inquired someone selling a Ryzen 7 3700x claiming to be brand new, plus it's only "tray model" (meaning doesn't include box and/or HSF). Its asking for Php 7,500 (about USD $137) Thank you, Patrick CURRENT SPECS: CPU -- AMD Ryzen 7 1700 Motherboard -- Gigabyte GA-B450 Aorus Pro WiFi (BIOS: 60h - 04/FEB/2021, ryzen 5000 series ready!) 8. Just an update. Just used a FAKE dualshock 4 controller and I've successfully configured it with STEAM. It recognized it as a real ds4, and it works like you are playing directly from PS4. Haptics and everything. The only problem is that the QTE buttons displayed at the video game which are designed for XBOX controllers (the ones that are X,Y,A,B show instead of the Sony's PS shapes square, triangle, circle and the X) which confusing (bit annoying). At least I don't have to buy another controller which I don't have a lot money for it atm... Thank you for your insight!
  9. I agree. I would consider waiting for the next gen to come out sometime at early-mid 2022. When the time comes, I'll go ahead and upgrade towards to 5th gen ryzen. Thank you. I'm still quite undecided which GPU should I get dou.
  10. Yes. I would consider a GPU upgrade for me to utilize my 144hz monitor more. Also, one of my goals is to try ray-tracing.
  11. I'm afraid I'll have to wait till the prices go down. GPUs are still expensive, maybe I wait until next year, see when a new generation of GPUs and when ryzen 6th gen releases. Thats the time I might consider upgrading towards from my current Ryzen 1700 to at least Ryzen 5 5600x. I would consider upgrading a better GPU. One of my goals is to also utilize more my monitor (144hz). I wanna try ray-tracing as well. Any thoughts? At some games, I am not quite satisfied with the ave. FPS, I'm starting to feel that my GPU is aging. That's just my thought.
  12. Thank you everyone for your answers. Much appreciated! Stay safe.
  13. Hello there! Noob question here. I need help into deciding whether should I consider buying a controller solely for my gaming PC only. I do not own any Xbox console (never had one either). I was wondering if I could have the same experience as playing at my PS4 that it the controller provides a haptic feedback during gameplay. When I buy the Xbox X Series Controller and play some games at my PC, will it also give that haptic feedback experience? Thank you. Eman
  14. Budget (including currency): not yet defined. My original plan is to upgrade sometime at late 2022 or early 2023. As of now, I have been thinking to upgrade my computer because I'm worried that based on what's happening with the Windows 11 craze lately. I did my research and turns out to be that my current PC setup is not compatible with Win11. And it is all because of my CPU that's holding me back. Yet, I'm still overwhelmed that parts are still expensive atm. I'm also worried that I'll be forced to sell my old CPU at a quite low price than I thought, which it sucks but that's just how things depreciate overtime I guess. What do you think should I wait or make a move on upgrading now? Thank you in advance. 15. Aw shucks. I really don't have the luxury to buy that kind of gpu. I'm also considering for a FREESYNC compatibility GPU. Thank you for your insight!
  16. Budget (including currency): n/a for now. Just want to know my options and I'll depend my budget there. I'm open to opinions. 17. What should be the limit max temp? Is 50*c at idle normal?
  18. Alright. Thank you. Anyways, do you have an idea what is the safe temps for my gpu? Is 85*c the limit max temp right?
  19. Hello to all! Just a quick question, I was wondering it is advisable to replace the thermal paste of my almost 3 year old GPU (ROG-STRIX-RX580-O8G-GAMING) as I am getting concern how hot it gets especially when I'm in gaming. But now I'm observing that its usual temps are at around 50-53*c at idle or doing basic tasks like browsing on the internet or doing MS word documents or watching a movie. The highest temp I recorded is when I played GTA V, Far Cry 5, or Flight Simulator. It reaches about 82*c. Even dou I set the fan speed about 85% or more. Any advice? Please do share your thoughts. Thank you.
  20. Good day! I've been reading here lately regarding to this topic. I was just wondering what are your insights about it, any advice will be appreciated! I'm planning to buy my first AIO cooler soon... QUICK SPECS: MOBO: MSI B350 PC Mate CPU: Ryzen 7 1700 (Running Stock clock speed, tbh I don't know how to OC it, that's why I leave it as it is) HSF: AMD Wraith Spire (Stock cooler that came along with my CPU) THERMAL PASTE: Deepcool Z5 GPU: ASUS ROG Strix Radeon RX 580 O8G Gaming OC Edition (running at stock, again, idk how to OC) ** Earlier, I've stress tested my CPU, on idle its temps are around 52-58c, while at full load (which I ran for about 20 mins) it reached a max temp of 74c. Comment below. Thank you. *EDIT/ADDON: For the temps at the GPU, I've noticed it really gets hot to touch especially its backplate, even I could feel the heat radiating at the Temper Glass, which I'm concerned about it. Can anyone please tell me what is the MAX SAFE TEMP that it can tolerate? Because when I sense it's about to get really hot, I blast the GPU FANS at 100% speed. Thanks.
  21. Good day! I would like some advice which one to buy, recently last friday (July 10, 2020) my new PSU Replacement arrived which is the exact model as my old PSU (Seasonic M12ii-EVO Bronze Fully Modular 620w), when I assembled it, IT WORKED! Everything worked perfectly, I could even access all of my drive's files, it runs like it should be... Unfortunately after 2 hours of running, I was prompted to restart my computer for windows updates. So, at startup, my computer WON'T POST anymore. And its LED Debug lights points to the CPU. So, I'm stuck AGAIN where I've started. This is also the same thing happened to me at my original PSU, the one I've replaced with. MY OBSERVATIONS: - All CASE FANS spinning - CPU HSF spinning - NO RGB Lights turned on from the motherboard (normally this would turn on) - My RAM sticks turns on their RGB lights after couple of seconds - NO Beep - NO Display WHAT HAVE I DONE FOR TROUBLESHOOTING: - Reset CMOS BIOS (short jumpers and removing the battery), nothing happened. I don't know which to blame, its either the PSU, the motherboard, or CPU. The motherboard was recently bought last month (June 2020) QUICK SPECS: MOBO: Gigabyte GA-B450 Aorus Pro Wifi (Recently bought) CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 1700 (bought November 2017) COOLER: AMD Wraith Spire (RGB LED) by Master Cooler (Stock Fan from my Ryzen CPU) GPU: AMD RX580 8gb 256-Bit GDDR5 Asus Strix OC Edition 3 FAN Full RGB (Asus Aura) (bought september 2018) SSD: Samsung 850 EVO 250gb (november 2017) HDD: Seagate 2tb 7200rpm RAM: 2x8gb Gskil Trident Z RGB 3000mhz CL10 DDR4 (bought july 2018) PSU: Seasonic M12II-EVO 620w bronze fully modular (recently used a replacement given by the distro, but it only worked for 2 hrs) Also, used an power strip w/ anti surge protector to plug in my PC, do you think i should buy an AVR? I havent used an AVR over 5 years now... Im planning to buy later a NEW PSU, see if my new mobo still responds to work, if not, Ill send to warranty the motherboard as well... Im thinking to switch brands from Seasonic to Corsair CX or CS PSUs. Any advice/thoughts please? Thank you. EDIT: Actually my PC broke since March 24, due to the Covid19 lockdowns, there are many cause of delays such as shortage stock of parts, many PC stores were closed, and other inconveniences really makes things difficult for me. Now I have to fix my PC ASAP because of my upcoming online classes.
