  1. Thanks for the replies. I guess it makes sense to get new CPU and a 1080 then. I see some of you suggesting Ryzen. Does Ryzen 2600 beat out i5 8600k in gaming or come close at least? I see it's a fair bit cheaper but I'd have to upgrade my RAM for something a bit faster if I'm not mistaken?
  2. Firstly, I'm new here so if I've posted this in the wrong place feel free to move it. Also, hi Looking for some help and you seem like a knowledgeable bunch.. I have an "ok" setup right now i5 7400 16gb 2400mhz GTX 1050 Ti It's been fun playing at 60fps (or around abouts) at 1080p, but I'm looking to buy a 144hz 1440p monitor so I'll need to upgrade to get best use of it. My budget is somewhat limited otherwise I'd just go nuts. So my question is this What's the better of these two options Upgrade to i5 8600k and a GTX 1080 or Upgrade to a GTX 1080 Ti? I'm not needing to play at 144fps at 1440p on more demanding games at all times, I'll happily play that at 1080p. I just want the option to get 100+fps at 1440p with high details wherever I can. I do also plan to plug in to my TV and do some couch gaming at 4k sometimes. Getting a 1080ti would leave me open to being able to upgrade my CPU etc. later down the line without having to worry about graphics card. But my concern is whether the i5 7400 will hold back a 1080ti from getting to my desired frames and image quality. The monitor I'm looking to get isn't cheap and I want to be getting the best out of it sooner rather than later. But on the other hand, I wonder how long will a GTX 1080 be able to push 100+ fps at 1440p Sooo... Yeah. Thanks in advance.
