  1. ah good reply, couldn't find a proper monitor that's perfect though. I'm gonna try to keep costs down by printing the case and doing some statics to make it sturdy. I'm having my own radiator machined and gonna water cool it, I did some CAD and it'll fit nicely under the GPU Good option for power I think I'm going with that, was hoping to build a battery but I think it's too dangerous/complicated. lmao total price is still cheaper than the best laptop, got better hardware too, although it'll weigh a ton
  2. So I want a Quadro to take around with me instead of having to use company computers for CAD, the laptops available aren't fast enough for me and I also think this will be a fun project. So basically I'm planning to 3D print a laptop case and install desktop parts into it. I'm planning to water cool the CPU with a custom loop and probably a custom radiator. And the quadro itself ill keep the air cooler on and just create breathing holes in the laptop case. Building it I think won't be to difficult however I also plan to build a battery for it. I saw the DIY battery kit Linus did a video on and I'm looking to do something similar or completely different idk. I know I need a Module that converts dc to atx power but I don't fully understand the circuitry behind it. The battery is only meant for idle tasks like chrome and such and I want to use a wall outlet for more intensive rendering. However how would I even split the supply between the battery and wall outlet? Aswell how would I monitor the charge of the battery? Could I just gut a normal PSU and hook the battery up to that?
  3. ugh i wish they made the case like 5 inches bigger in each direction, ill just get a 280 then thanks
  4. Is it possible to fit a triple radiator in the top of a 570x with a little modding? I'm looking to fit 1 triple in the front and another on the top. As well does anyone know about monoblocks for the MSI x99a gaming pro carbon? I'm wondering if the x299 version will fit but EK doesn't say its compatible
  5. sir u must be a god, not even my software eng brother could get it to work
  6. how on earth did u manage to get pubg to work on SLI, u cant even select sli rendering mode for pubg in the control pannel
  7. could you elaborate a little more, instructions unclear got dick stuck in fitting
  8. thanks i did the thermal paste method and i sawed off the screw stand offs, im in the process of welding the nuts to the waterblock
  9. should i do that and chop the old heat sink to cool the vrms, the block i need is an ek fc-970 tfx
  10. thats also easier said than done, spent two years looking and i never found one
  11. Thanks for the feedback guys, i think this should work. one of the screw holes does align, however im worried about the screw holes that dont work. If they touch the PCB couldnt that cause a shortage?. I thought about putting the thermal pads under them to stop that. As well the block doesnt full extend to the side of the pcb. So im worried about fittings not getting on (look at the image and tell me what you guys think this is my first watercool and i dont have any fittings to test this). Also what do you guys think about glueing the nuts on?. should i weld them on instead or is the glue strong enough ? (Ik that theres another vrm that needs cooling im just gonna chop the old heat sink and screw that back to the top of the card)
  12. it has cooling on all of the ram chips and the metal makes perfect contact with the thermal pads as well as the vrms
  13. wdym, everything lines up properly and seems even all around, i bought some screws and nuts and im gonna try gorrilla glueing the nuts to the waterblock for new screw holes. dumb idea or no ?
