  1. Damn.. I called a replacement on my motherboard and my cpu to see.. But I'm in the same boat as you were, with a 9900k and a 3080..
  2. EDIT1: Since this post was removed from the /r/nvidia sub (like any other complain post), I'm posting here in hope of some help/answers. EDIT2: Could this be a faulty mobo? I replaced mine in February this year, but just found this post. Hi there, and sorry for my pretty bad English. First and foremost, I have to say that I'm not blaming EVGA, Gigabyte or anyone (well, I'm blaming Nvidia there), and I'm not here to complain neither : we just need to pass the word so Nvidia fix this asap! Here's my actual configuration: i9 9900k @5.0Ghz on water, delidded + copper IHS EVGA RTX 3080 FTW3 Ultra Gaming @1950mhz on air (previously: Gigabyte RTX 2080 on water) 2x16gb DDR4 3200Mhz Aorus Z390 ITX Pro Wifi Corsair SF750 Samsung 970 Evo Plus NVMe So everything started like a month ago (maybe two) : I didn't play any games since march, and I planned my custom loop for a while. It was august when I ordered all my parts and built my loop with my RTX 2080, everything went fine and when I was done, I booted up the PC, and updated my nvidia drivers. This is where the hell has begun. For context, I play mostly MW, CSGO, Battlefield V and Battlefront II, and my fps in MW and BFV were horrible. I went from 160fps to 40-60 with a LOT of micro stuttering and lag (even in csgo with 300+ fps, I felt a lot of micro stutter and crash). I know you will ask this so : my temps are "perfect" : CPU and GPU 30-35°C at idle, and never goes more than 50-60°C in more demanding games. I was like, ok, maybe I messed up something with my GPU block, and tried to check HWinfo, even posted on Reddit to ask, but everything seemed fine. Last week I finally ordered my EVGA 3080 and just installed it yesterday! Guess what, all of my issues were still there. This is what I tried when I first built my custom loop, and then tried again yesterday with my 3080 : DDU in Safe Mode Complete Wipe of Windows 10 1909/2004 Memtest86 overnight with and without XMP (0 errors) Update Bios Tried stock bios settings Reset Nvidia Control Panel Disabling VSync / GSync I play at 1080p 240hz and tried supersampling at 1440p and 4k and I have the exact same FPS at 1080p! In most of the games, my GPU is at 97% and my CPU at 30-40%. Here's a 3DMark Benchmark and a Userbenchmark I did a LOT of research on reddit and find out a lot of people were having the same issue with 2070, 2080, 3080 and even 3090. I even read that someone has better perf with his 2070 than with a 3080! Here is a fairly similar case as me. And other case : This drives me crazy as I cannot enjoy any games since August, even with my brand new 3080, when you see those crazy benchmark on YouTube and you cannot barely hit 60fps in ultra. Nvidia need to fix this asap, and please, don't tell me that the 30 series are brand new and they need more time : this issue has been there since August with the 20 series (or maybe even more) for some folks.
  3. Have you fixed this issue? I have the exact same one. I did a post here if you are interested. Could be a motherboard issue? This is the only thing we have in common.
  4. I really checked carefully, and even changed the spacer to reduce height of the cooler, I'm sure it make proper contact.. I have tried to change his position 3 times and nothing changes. And my friends didn't even use the spacers provided with the kit, he just used the stock one;
  5. Hello there! Something very weird is happening to me, here's the story : my friend and I wanted to make a 9900k direct die config onto the Ghost S1 (yes it's dumb), so we have some hardware in common : 9900k direct die (with same liquid metal and same direct die kit), stock bios settings, Big Shuriken 3 + NF-A12x15, Louqe Ghost S1. Where it gets weird is our first boot : my friend has 31°C idle, I have 45°C ; after 30 min of P95 (derbauer recommended settings) he got 75°C max, and for 3 hours, he's in low 90°C, my cpu throttled over 100°C after just 3 seconds of test. I re-pasted my liquid metal 2 times, with a little bit more, and then a little bit less, and my result is that it's getting worst every re-paste I make. I checked and the die is making a solid contact with the cooler, I even tried different spacers for the bracket since Rockit Cool Direct Die Kit has alternative one for lowering the height of the cooler. I even tried to stop the CPU fan when idle for 20 seconds, and the temps are getting the exact same (45°C), is that normal? 20 sec is not enough to make a difference? In fact I have the exact same problem has Jayztwocent in his last video of watercooling a ghost S1. SO...What am I doing wrong? Is it possible that silicon lottery affect temps even at stock speed? Motherboard can affect that much temps? Here's some photos of my build : First application of LM before putting the cooler After my first re-paste with little bit more liquid metal (after removed the cooler so I can check the "spread") Thanks for any answers!
  6. Thanks anyone for your answers, I solved my problem here.
  7. Anyone could tell me which will be the benefice to plug the Pump + the radiator FAN on the CPU_FAN ? This make no difference for the fan to be plugged onto CPU_FAN ?
  8. I have seen just now that if I run the pump on the SYS_FAN, the pump will run at full speed all time, which is a good thing, the liquid flow need to be constant. And the fan on the radiator to the CPU_FAN to be able to manage the fan with the temp of the CPU.
  9. Hello there, and sorry for my bad english! EDIT: I saw here that it would be better to plug the pump onto the SYS_FAN, and run the pump at full speed for better flow and constant cooling : anyone could confirm ? If not so, I think I will plug both PUMP and Radiator Fan to CPU_FAN to be sure. Today I built my first ITX config, and I have some questions about my AIO : My mobo is a Gigabyte - Z390 I AORUS PRO WIFI and my AIO is a Cooler Master - MasterLiquid ML120R I read 10 times all of the documentations, asked on discord and checked on forums, but I can't find any answers. My mobo have 3 fans connector : 1x CPU_FAN and 2x SYS_FAN, my question is, what do I need to connect to CPU_FAN ? The pump + the fan on the radiator (with a splitter) ? Only the pump ? Only the fan on the radiator ? Some screenshot : MOBO AIO btw, I have 4 fans, all Corsair LL120RGB, RGB pin's of those are connected to the Node Pro, and the RGB pin of the AIO is connected right onto the motherboard. Thanks for your answers!
  10. Thanks for your answer! Could you explain why you choose the Aorus?
  11. Hello guys (yeah it's me again), After many posts on that forum and many helps (love this forum and the community), I'm at the point where I hesitate a lot between two models of gaming laptop : Aorus x5 v8 or the Zephyrus M (GM501) Both of these models would have LM repaste + custom thermal pads by HIDevolution. So, what model would you pick ? Considering the Zephyrus cost 360$ less than the Aorus, will the Aorus worth the +360$ ? Another things is that the Zephyrus will arrive to HID late may, and the Aorus is already in stock, it's important to me because I will ship this to France so another 1-2 weeks to wait until the delivery. Thanks for any advices !
  12. It's pretty thin ! And same weight that the Zephyrus ! (2.5kg) I think I'd go for it, but not sure for now because it's a little out of my budget. I can order it on XoticPC or Pro-Star.com with repaste (not LM but Grizzly Kryonaut). LT only with GenTechPC And I wanted your mind about something : these 2 website does not have Taxes or Fees to deliver in France (just +200$ shipping), I contacted their support and they said : And when I proceed to the paypal payment, no taxes are added. I risk something if they took my laptop at the border ? I don't know what to think about this.
  13. I've just saw the Aorus x5 v8 and it's pretty interesting !
  14. Haha thanks for your answer, but I'm in second year computer engineering school, and I'm plugged 24/24, so not an issue External GPU is not my thing, I don't think I will buy one I just checked GenTechPC and what they offer are very interesting ! But they don't write release date of their PC.. I go to Netherlands this week and the GM501 is already out, so maybe I'll buy the Asus Zephyrus.
  15. Hi everybody and sorry for my bad English.I've just sell my Alienware 15 R3 to buy a new gaming laptop, 8th Gen, with full GTX 1070, and I've done some research between Asus, Alienware, MSI, and in conclusion I hesitate a lot between these models (battery life isn't an issue for me, and I will carry my laptop everyday in a backpack to school from my house) :- ASUS ROG Zephyrus M GM501GS- ASUS ROG Strix GL703GS SCAR (does it exist in 15" ?)- MSI GS73/GS63 8RF (Max-Q or Full ?)- MSI GS65 8RF (Too expensive for only 256/512GB storage?)I came here to hear your advices and critics about these laptops, and what models would you choose ? Thermals are good on these laptops ? Because my AW had horrible thermal issues (99°C in game) and that matter a lot for me because I hate throttling when gaming (not just me I assume).Last thing : I can do a Liquid Metal Repaste but I heard that will affect the guarantee on Asus Models (and it's not good when you move your laptop in a backpack ???)Thanks in advance ! PS: just heard about Mechrevo V2, but not sure how I can buy it in EU.
