  1. I know it's slow because it's an HDD but I can't download games or play any of them off the damn thing. I tried replacing the SATA cable but the problem persists. Maybe I got used to having an SSD lol.
  2. Hey people, I just built a new PC. Installed my old HDD onto it for extra space. But now it is basically unusable. My reads are so unfathomably slow I can't install any game or program on it. What could be causing this problem? Is it fixable? So many questions... Maybe there are a few HDD experts out here?
  3. Just to expand a bit: The fans span and still do spin, the HDD also spins up. It doesn't beep when it restarts or displays a black screen. It does, however, beep when I remove all the RAM or the Gpu. The ethernet lights flicker. The psu was working on the old pc.
  4. Specs: Motherboard - Asus B85m-g CPU - i5-4570 GPU - Asus RX 580 RAM - 4x4GB Crucial DDR3 PSU - was 750W, changed to 500W I'll start with my 7 hour repair story. My old PSU made a terrible noise so I decided to scavenge a 500W one from an old pc and put into mine. At first the PC didn't even start, it would keep restarting and not booting. I moved some cables around, made the PC turn on, but not display anything on the screen. Then I removed my GPU cable and plugged it back in. It somehow worked, the computer booted and worked like normal. I even played Elden Ring on it. And then, just as I was getting used to the peace and quiet of the new PSU, it broke. The blue screen proclaimed 'MEMORY_MANAGEMENT' while watching a youtube video(not an LTT one unfortunately) . Now the same problem persists. The computer doesn't turn on and keeps restarting. Now I' ve tried removing the gpu, plugging each RAM in one by one, nothing works, not even the fix I used last time. So, what's wrong? I really have no idea since I got it working just an hour ago.
  5. Hey, I bought a new RX 580, and after a month of use I started noticing some artifacts. Does this mean that the card is broken?
  6. Absolutely nothing. The card and the motherboard are fine.
  7. The fans seem to be working fine, and the pins are plugged in and stuff. I don't know what else I can check for..
  8. Okay, I stressed just the graphics card, and after 1,5 minutes it crashed again after reaching 74 degrees. So, it's most definitely a gpu problem.
  9. I tried the benchmark where it first benchmarks the gpu then the cpu and that didn't crash my PC. Games crash it almost instantly. I'll try the cpu and gpu stress test next.
  10. For some reason it doesn't crash during the stress test. That's probably a driver fault, right?
  11. Hello, My computer just started crashing when starting up a game. Whenever I load into it and play for a few seconds, the PC freezes completely and I have to turn it off. I'm guessing it's probably the graphics card, but I don't want to change it just yet. I tried updating the drivers, but it didn't help. What do I do? Do I have to buy a new GPU? Also, when it crashes it repeats the last 0.1s of the sound played before the crash. Hope that helps. Specs: CPU: i5-4570 GPU: MSI R9 280x RAM: crucial DDR3 16gb (4x4GB) PSU: 750W power supply MOB: asus b85m-g
  12. Thanks for the suggestions: That doesn't work, it detects the built-in speaker and the headphones as the same thing, and it prioritizes the broken headphones. 1. It's closed off 2.The jack was made of copper(isn't attracted) 3.Can't find how to do this. 4. I don't want to spend any money, if I did, I'd just send it to a repair shop. Tried it, it's still only one output (speakers).
  13. Hey, My headphone's jack broke off and a little bit of it stayed in the port. I can't take it out no matter how much I try. Is there any way I can make it go through the laptop's speakers? (I've tried using the playback menu, it doesn't detect speakers and headphones as two different things, if I use speakers, it doesn't work.) Thanks!
  14. Follow up: He told me he used the card for mining and it wasn't profitable anymore, so he is selling it. I'll ask him to send me a video of the card in action. Also forgot to mention that it's an 8gb one so it's even better.
  15. Hey, I found a suspiciously cheap rx 580 for 90 euros (like 100 usd) and when I called the seller up, he told me I can't test it at his home, but I can return it to him if it doesn't work and he'll refund me the money. I think he's trying to scam me. Your thoughts?
