Lol, Nvidia support agent just told me that taking apart my graphics card to clean it would void my warranty.

    Taking it apart at all or, taking the heatsink off and everything? I can see why they'd void the warranty if someone, for example, broke something off of the board.

    Just for taking it apart, they most likely wouldn't know that you did.

    There are those classic "warranty void if removed" stickers, those are illegal too. If a user breaks something and is charged to fix it, that's one thing, but just taking the card apart is not allowed to void a warranty.

    As far as I know, those stickers aren't illegal everywhere and, from my experience as long as you don't tell them that you took it apart they will honor the warranty.

     

    I don't have experience with MSI's RMA so they might look into it more but, I honestly doubt it.

    No idea why I thought this was about MSI lol.

    @Cyberspirit usually those sticks cover a screw that secures the cooler to the GPU die. Only way to remove it without damaging it would be to use a heat gun to peal it. But here in the US, these stickers are not enforceable.
