  1. I have no idea how to describe what the issue is, I consulted people on discord and was told it could be an issue with the backlight. The issue is most visible on grey, then white. Not visible on black, least visible on blue. I noticed it today, and even though I feel like I would've noticed it earlier, there's a non-zero possibility it was there before. The line aligns with my browser's top bar (tabs + url bar) but maybe it's a coincidence? Since it's not an OLED this can't be burn in, and the OSD doesn't have LCD conditioning as an option Things that come to mind: - I vacuum cleaned recently to get dust off the top (not the best idea, I know) - I moved my monitors around on the desk a few times these past few weeks, I put pressure on the right side once while not being careful enough - The sun in the morning hits it, though it's always through curtains If it's repairable, great! If not, and it doesn't mean monitor death in the near future, I'm fine with it as long as it doesn't get any worse
  2. 46C is too high for idle temp. It's possible that the mount is bad or thermal paste isnt making proper contact. You can take it apart and put it back together to see if thats the issue
  3. When I started watching last night's wan show, I noticed that my phone was positioned so that it reflects linus' face on it... the color shift literally made him deep fried
  4. 1070ti +200/+400 @120% power limit if I have the fan set to 100% fixed and put the gpu on high load (folding@home, doesnt exceed 62C), it will occasionally slow down for up to 2 seconds (usually 1 second) before ramping back up, as if there wasn't enough power for the fan itself (HWinfo reads 145W power draw with peak of 153W) Has anyone had a similar issue? Where would I start identifying the problem? Other system specs: Latest win10 Latest GPU driver (DDU) 3700x w/ PBO 1070ti is a Leadtek blower style fan
  5. I've been thinking about this since yesterday, I couldn't really decide and am torn between the following 3: https://www.newegg.ca/p/1FR-0050-00003?Item=9SIA7RDAME0596 its 500W, cheap and 80+ gold https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07H5KFBB9 super cheap while still having enough power for my parts (if what Vejnemojnen said is correct, assuming I do manual OC) https://www.amazon.ca/CORSAIR-Bronze-Certified-Non-Modular-Supply/dp/B01MTZ96RU gives me room for possible future upgrades while still being at a reasonable price for 80+ gold I'll mark this as solved once I decide what I go with
  6. GM Gold, sorry forgot to specify, adding it now
  7. Location: Canada (QC) Budget: max 120C$ (but would like something lower if possible) Preferred retailer: amazon, newegg 1070ti is OCed +200/+400 (120%TDP) 3700x is running on PBO but i may manual OC in the future I occasionally do: streaming/recording, video encoding, folding@home Reason I'm looking for a new one is because I discovered that my TR2 RX 750 is absolute garbage in terms of literally everything on top of having horrible coil whine on certain gpu heavy loads (i havent been running this system on it for too long) What I found by myself (but am still looking for recommendations): Rosewill hive 850S for 80C$ (kijiji, yes i know its overkill) Rosewill glacier 850 for 80C$ (idem) Antec earthwatts 550 for 110C$ (amazon) CM MWE 750 for 117C$ (amazon) Seasonic Focus GM 550 for 104C$ (newegg) EDIT: Decided to go with the Cooler Master MWE 650W in order to have headroom for potential future upgrades
  8. Yesterday I upgraded from win7 to win10 (trough their utility) after finding out about the "new" and "better" NVENC encoder that wasn't available on win7 (spoiler: it's not that much better) TL;DR - my EQ is affecting OBS audio when I don't want it to, and it didn't when I was still on win7 Note: the EQ in question is Equalizer APO Instead of writing a fancy story of the whole process, I'm gonna try and simplify what happened: I started doing test recordings to compare "new" and "old" NVENC encoders, audio was weird on playback (EQ was on for both recording and playback), switched to VLC, audio still weird, turned off EQ, audio sounds the way I hear it normally with EQ on. I monitor audio levels in OBS while changing gain levels in EQ, changing EQ levels changes levels in OBS. It was not the case when I saw still on win7. I would love to be able to stick to win10, but I need a solution to this (Voice meeter is not an option, it adds audio delay that I cannot tolerate) EDIT: the EQ is referring to speaker EQ, not mic EQ
  9. Nope, on the charger with the high performance profile
  10. I have a VAIO VPCF22M1E with the following specs: i7 2630QM GT 540M (672MHz core 900MHz memory) 6GB RAM Windows 10 I am using the latest graphic drivers. When playing a game (or when running furmark), the GPU's core speed caps out at 202MHz and memory caps out at 324MHz (GPU usage 100% while running games/furmark) Any idea why it only uses 1/3 of it's max clock speeds? (image provided below with CPU and GPU usage) (Despite the obvious overclocking attempt on the screenshot, the results were the same without overclocking on both, NVIDIA Inspector and MSI Afterburner)
