  1. Gotu lol I was just curious since for some reason I kept getting disk corrupted messages from steam and the only way to fix that easily for me was to disconnect the cache drive and re-connect it through storeMI software (very wield). Thanks for letting me know. I must have gotten confused between low-level formatting and traditional formatting.
  2. I know when we disconnect the cached SSD from the system, the data on the HDD is not going to be impacted... But how about the SSD? because when I removed the drive (well disconnect it not physically removed from system) and reconnected them I realized that the useage on the drive is back on 0%.
  3. as the title mentioned, I accidentally installed Nvidia driver under Optimus mode and now no matter how I try the only thing Optimus does is changing the refresh rate of the monitor. however, I do really want to have the ability to switch between graphics cards when the laptop is plugged or unplugged. so is there any way to reinstall the drivers to enable Optimus mode? because right now no matter what mode it is under the computer always uses 1070 instead of UHD And the laptop is Asus Zephyrus GM501GS
  4. I upgraded my asus zephyrus m gm501 with 2 sticks of 3200mhz ram (total 32 gb), but I just recently realized that Ram is not running at 3200 but 2666 instead. Is there any way that I can boost the ram speed back up to 3200 mhz without risking of breaking any hardware?
  5. And really does anyone happen to have the original ICM file of the zephyrus M's 144hz g-sync display? I am missing the file so that the display's tone and color cannot be adjusted to the gaming mode that I want.
  6. and before I did any changes to the Zephyrus M there was a longer battery life and in the software ROG gaming center, it did show that the graphics card was disabled and the software cannot read or display any current status of the GPU itself. but now when I enter the gaming center the software shows me the GPU's clock speed and temperature, so I am just wondering that is it possible that it is only the monitor is disconnected from the 1070 and is using the onboard intel-GPU.
  7. the problem with that is I do not think the Optimus mode is actually working right now because I am still experiencing very poor battery performance. and that is not because of the fact that Zephyrus itself has a terrible battery life, but is compared to the battery performance I had before reinstall the OS
  8. yeah it is controlled by the software but the problem is that it disabled the g-sync but the gpu is still running in the background. before the windows system was broken the gpu can be completely disabled.
  9. I have an asus zephyrus M GM501GS 1070. However, because of some network issue I reinstalled Windows without saving the drivers and software on windows. Recently I downloaded all the drivers from the download center from asus but still, the GPU cannot be possibly disabled and therefore the battery life almost does not exist when I unplug it. Also, after installing nearly all the software and drivers, I am still missing the ICM file of the monitor and therefore I cannot run ASUS Gamevisual software. Does anyone know how to fix that?
  10. I have been watching LTT videos for a while, but it is my first time asking questions. So....... I am recently wondering about the kind of websites I have to go to buy my own customized laptop. what I wanted to do is to simply customize the laptop by doubling the ram and changing drives a little bit, nothing else. but I heard people receiving products with dead pixels on their laptop monitors, so I do not know what is the best option for me to do right now. I am thinking about buying the new ASUS Zephyrus M GM501 (with 1070) and upgrade the ram to 32GB and double the SSD (512gb PCIe) and HDD (2tb SSHD) and do not want to try doing it myself for the possibility of damage the machine. so please, please if anyone just happens to know a really reliable website that does not cost that much (less than 3,000 USD) for this machine, please respond Thank you so much PS. can LTT do a review on this new model of Zephyrus???
