bqt-p4 520w 1.3 - Be quiet brand. It's very old psu. Do you think using 20 pin for mobo and ocing can cause a southbridge burnt?- 9 replies

I used be quiet 520 watt psu: This psu only have 20 pin, not 24. but my mobo requires 8 pin cpu and 24 pin mobo.- 9 replies

Hi guys. I oc'ed i7 930 to 4ghz with only 1x4 pin power connector ( it's 130w tdp processor). After 20 days of use, my southbridge died. It's because i didn't connectd 8 pin? I overclocked it by helping OC guide for i7 930. 1.35 voltage.. 4ghz... 21 multiplier 191 bclk etc..( My cooler was good enough to cool processor, temps was fine while oc. - Be quiet 150w tdp cooler.) Mobo: asus p6x58d-e... +1 more thing: i used different rams:4gb 1333mhz and 4gb 1600 mhz. So i want to know its because of PSU or bad overclock. Thanks.

HI i have big problem with my system. Everytime i need to reset cmos battery or unplug usb devices to run motherboard. At my 5-10th try motherboard booting. And when i shut down pc, goes in to sleep mode, i can only shutdown from power supply switch. motherboard asus p6x58d-e ram 1333mhz 1600 mhz two sticks 4gb core i7 930 processor gtx 1050 ti video card. PS; i tested my psu on other pc, it runs without problem.

stress tested cpu for 10 minute. and hold cable till the end. it's normal, not hot. i was only feeling the warm air coming from cooler. when i dont overclock this processor, its bottlenecks my gpu about 30-40%. but when i overclock it, theres no bottleneck.

what you think about changing CPU to E5640-E5645 which 80w TDP? and oc it to 4ghz. Will this make 4pin relax?

i7 930 TDP - 130 watts. When overclocked - about 200w. It's fine for 4 pin? So you mean if it's not burned/melted in minutes, and system working without problems, everything is ok..?
