  1. Not an ssd problem, it was booting in 12 seconds before it decided to not, and its an old thinkcentre so I don't know how many drivers there's gonna be for it, will try tho
  2. Silicon power, it was booting fine in 12 seconds not an error there, ssd wise Its just why is there a black screen for forever, as if its trying to find the display, but that doesn't check out because the login screen eventually comes up fine, no off and on then
  3. So, I flipped a pc, put in a gpu and ssd, I'm selling it, and the day before I meet the guy the boot time decides to increase to about 1 minute. I installed steam, msi afterburner, oculus, chrome, beat saber, and geforce experience. I had had the issue once before, and solved it by completely installing another windows and starting from the ground up again, installing everything again and deleting the previous windows. It worked, I re-installed everything, and boot time was 10-12 seconds. Then, I don't change any settings, besides right now I'm running ethernet from a laptop to the desktop (because the router is upstairs, and I don't have any ethernet access downstairs, so I'm sharing it from the wifi from the laptop, and the connection isn't the problem) and then I restart the pc, and boom, I have a black screen for about 50 seconds or so, right after the windows logo. I can't find any forums with my exact issue. Help would be appreciated!
  4. Wow, thanks for all the replies! I just found a 75 watt model 1050ti on facebook marketplace, not exactly the price I Was hoping for, but it'll do. EDIT he removed it from marketplace right after I saw it just my luck Yeah, sorry
  5. Its not just that i need a 1050ti, I can easily find or negotiate that down to 80 bucks I would get a 970 or 1060 3gb for 90 or 100 if that was the case. Its that I also need one of the low power / non 6 pin versions
  6. Ok, so I have an old lenovo desktop with an i7-3770, 8gb ram, 500gb hdd, and I wanna put a gpu in it. The power supply is custom, for this board only, and I can't replace the psu with a different one, because the connectors are different. I was thinking of getting a Sata power to Pcie 6 pin, but the ampage on the 12v rails on that is only 16, which isn't enough for pretty much anything, over the performance of a GT 1030. I was thinking of then just getting a gpu with 75 watt power draw, that only uses power from the pcie 3.0 thingie, but I am trying to find one used for cheap, so I can sell this as a moderate gaming pc, for 200-250 bucks, (yes I would buy an ssd), and I can't find any gpus used rn that don't need a 6 pin that are better than a gt 1030 for cheap. Could I get a strix gtx 950 that i found for 50 bucks and just decrease the power limit or whatever so that it fits within the 75 watts? Or does it only use 75 watts to begin with? I don't really want a gt 1030 because that will severely bottleneck an i7-3770, but so would a gtx 950. I know that a 1050ti is the best performance I can get for 75 watts, but those are rare, and I'm trying to find one for about 80 bucks or under. Any tips?
  7. Hello i have a pny xlr8 Gtx 1070 that makes a very loud coil whine noise when benchmarking. This is the 2 fan xlr8 model btw. I heard that someone with a 980ti has this issue as well? On some other forum maybe. Just wondering if there’s some fix for this, or if I just have to let it be. Whenever I run the heaven benchmark it starts making the noise, but it pauses between the scenes, when it’s black. my FE Gtx 1070 doesn’t do this btw. The pny one also gets about 200 points less on average on Unigine
  8. Im guessing battery life isn't ur concern?
  9. I think he wants a 1070 max q, he has the extra money to spare. I think dell's previous laptops with 1060 max q were better. They were under 1000, I don't think to highly of this lineup.
  10. I am thinking of getting the gs65, due to good battery life, (much better that last year's model), and so many more things that make it similar to the other laptops in its category, that refreshed with the 8th gen H cpus. I may get it just because of the price being lower, and maybe the style of the laptop in general. I would use it for school, thats why I need at least ok battery life, so I don't have to lug a charger around. Does anyone know what the battery life of the GM501 is, like actual, or there isn't too much to find about because all we have seen is mini reviews, and hands on so far. As far as the hinge goes for the GS65, i think if you treat it well it shouldn't be too much of a problem, I haven't seen complaints so far. But there isn't much information in general so far, so idk I have been waiting for this refresh for soooo long. And oh boy it was well worth the wait! I think they start shipping like the 16th or something. Idk, I need battery life so the GM501 is nearly out of it, G-sync ect and just less Wh to begin with (hence the smaller chassis). Unless there is some pro to the GM501, and I am not attracted to its design any moreso than others. But I haven't done enough research yet on the GM501, so I can't give too much information about it yet, something called school and track is keeping me from that. But when I have more time I will definitely look into all of these and make a pros and cons. Part of it though is just preference, which design you like better, ect. I love the "elegancy" of the GS65, and the webcam placement ;). Typed on a 2015 hp omen in study hall. jk (the study hall part)
